It killed Alexander to let Valentina go like this but he just couldn't take the likeness of another attack at the Palace while she was here. He needed to protect her at all costs. She was his Queen, after all.

Alexander turned his head toward Matt before he spoke. "Where is my father?" he asked in a stern voice.

Matt answered him almost immediately. “He is expected to be in the Royal office, Your Majesty," he said, bowing slightly for Alexander.

Alexander nodded his head in acknowledgment of what Matt just told him before he turned and headed towards his ever so lovely father's office.

I think I might be picking up sarcasm from Valentina, Alexander thought as he chuckled slightly, pushing the main issue on his mind to the back of his mind for a little moment.

The Royal office will soon be mine once I become King. Other people inherit things like jewelry and lands from their parents, whereas I inherit things like cold hearts and lack of emotions from mine, Alexander thought deeply

"Could he be the one attacking? Is your son the one attacking my mate?" Alexander asked the man who claimed to be his father. "I got a letter the day you met your mate. It was a threat to the royal family from him," King Henry said, but he showed no emotion at all which only succeeded in angering Alexander further. "What is his name?" he asked the King. "His name is Killian, and he is younger than you. Your mother is the only one who knows about him. Killian's mother died during child birth and I sent him away to be raised as an Alpha in another pack." "Great! This is so great!" Alexander exclaimed as he raised his hands up with pure sarcasm coating his tone. "The King of the whole werewolf kingdom, King Henry cheats on his mate and wife and has an illegitimate son only to neglect his legitimate one." His tone was laced with pure anger by now. Alexander was tired of feeling the aftermath of his parents mistakes. It was a waste of his time and it was also truly exhausting. Now I

This was so weird and Valentina was okay to admit that this place didn't feel like home anymore. Wherever Alexander was, was where it felt home and it was just like she had stepped back into some old and long forgotten life. She didn't even remember what it was like to breath before him. Right now they were staying in the pack's villa for long or short term visitors. lt was weird for Valentina to be seeing her old pack, and it was even more weird for her ro be there because she was looking at it with different eyes for the first time in her life. Valentina was staying in an old room that needed to be redecorated. Of course, the room was not like the one she had back home but at least, it had a bathroom attached so that she didn't have to share one with another person. The bed was quite small but Valentina had decided that it would do. Some of her things were placed on the floor next to a huge wooden dresser. She had refused to unpack her luggage because she knew that she wouldn't b

Valentina had sent multiple texts to Alexander and still, she hadn't gotten any response whatsoever from him. The pain in her head had multiplied and she could only think that something bad had happened to him since the Queen rushed her out of the grocery store saying that they had to get home as fast as they could. Right now the guards were getting some of their luggages on a plane because they had to get back to the royal palace immediately, and Valentina hadn't even informed her family, because as much as she loved them, she couldn't think of them right now. She could only think of Alexander and this stupid headache she had right now. The Queen had rushed Valentina out of the store so fast that she did not have time to pay for her snacks and sweets. Valentina had told the Queen that it was technically stealing and she had waved her off and said she was a royal. Then she had texted Alexander one more time and still there was no response from him. That was when she knew that she

Valentina was now the Queen of the entire werewolf kingdom. It had just happened out of nowhere. Valentina thought that it would be more formal and that it would be at a coronation. Alexander had informed her that there was still going to be a formal coronation but the shift of their wolves had already happened. He was the King and she was his Queen, just as it had been destined from the very beginning. She knew that it was bound to hapen. Valentina no longer cared if she felt ready or not. She knew that as long as she had him, everything felt right. They were still laid together in silence and she had thought Alexander would be more angry that she killed his brother, something she never would have thought would ever happen. "I know I have never asked, but are you ready to be the Queen, Val?" he asked, his voice drawing het away from her thoughts. "I am ready to be yours," Valentina said to him and closed her eyes, then she moved her hand and started to run it against his ski

Valentina didn't feel too good and it was supposed to be her wedding day today. Her stomach hurt a little and she did't know if it was the nerves or another thing. Maybe it was but she did love Alexander, and she wanted to be his Queen. The hot water felt great on her skin just as she had hoped, because her muscles were a little sore. Alexander had gotten dressed and left the room earlier. He had told Valentina that Matt would be in the room in an hour to collect her, and that piece of information made Valentina to panic even more. She had no wedding dress, and she couldn't get married if she was looking like a mess. Then she thought back to the dresses that took half of her closet when she had first moved into her main room in the Royal Palace. Valentina tried to stop thinking so that she could really enjoy her shower, then she decided to shave because she was sure that Alexander was going to want more. She had decided to kill two birds with a stone, so she washed her face tho

Alexander had never felt this nervous in his entire life, except maybe for when when he first met Valentina. For the first time he finally felt in control of his life and that was all he had ever wanted. It was he and Valentina's coronation today. Today was the day when they would formally take their place as King and Queen. She was wearing an all blue beaded dress with broad shoulder pads dripped with gold and black. Alexander had never felt this much pressure to fill in the terrible shoes his father had left for him to fill. He really wanted to be a better King than him. He wanted to be worthy, not only in his own eyes, but in the eyes of his mate and the whole werewolf kingdom. Not only did he want to be a better king, he also wanted to be a better husband and father than his own father ever was. Every Alpha, Luna, and Beta had been invited to witness the coronation, and Alexander was standing in the long hallway awaiting his crowning before he would walk into the very huge r

Valentina had been in and out of sleep for the past hour. Matt had come in earlier to check on her, and he also brought some water and tea along but she had just waved him off. He still made sure he left them there in case Valentina wanted them, but she just wanted Alexander to come back to their room. She finally got up and changed her clothes to ones that were more comfortable. She knew that Alexander was on his way to see her because she could feel it. Most she knew exactly where he was and when he was close to where she was. Valentina heard the door to their room open and she turned to face him as he walked further into the room. "Val, what is going on? What is wrong?” he asked as he changed out of his clothes and came to lie down next to her on the bed. She shook his question off and moved closer to where he was so that she could snuggle into him, "I want a rehabilitation program and a safe place for rogues," Valentina blurted out and he nodded but she was not finished ye

SIX MONTHS LATER Valentina read the mundane news as she took a sip of her orange juice. It was her second breakfast today and she was sitting at a small table with a lot of different breakfast options for her to choose from. The room she was eating in was redecorated to be a place for her to just relax in and be away from all the royal business among other things. She usually ate her second breakfast and second lunch in here. She also ate any of the basic meals in the dining room with Alexander and Matilda. The Kingdom had been informed about Valentina's pregnancy but she had decided not to make any public appearances of any sort. She always discussed any politically related issue with Alexander first and then he presented it to the Public. It had been really great for Valentina not to be forced to give other people the insides of her pregnancy. She hoped that she would be due very soon because to be honest, she was really tired of being pregnant. Werewolf pregnancies were us

It was an unassuming house, a three-story building, red brick with black shutters on a corner lot of the quiet street. Alex had parked two blocks away. Gareth and Matt took the back while Matilda and Alex approached from the street. Brown leaves were scattered on the lawn. Two maple trees and some miniature shrubs offered little in the way of concealment, so they stayed to one side of the building. "Hang back," Alex told Matilda."Yeah, right," she scoffed. Alex glanced at his mother and saw an annoying smirk. Yes! She would find this interesting, he thought dryly. Especially after what she had done earlier. Maltilda had helped them distract the demon wolves and even after then when Alex was on the verge of death. When he was torn between two critical decisions, Maltida had also been the one that rescued all the pack warriors. She had brought out their ice cannon and shot it at all the demon wolves, freezing them to death immediately. How she had done it so expertly and swift, he

Val woke up to a dark room. The sniffed around and the room smelt stange. Unfamiliar. Her head was banging and her throat was dry and scorching. Her whole body aches from having slept in the hard rugged ground. For some minutes, she could not remember what had happened and what she was doing in such a strange place. "Anyone there?" She called out as loud as she could as she blinked rapidly against the dark room. She tried to rack her brain to remember how she got. Wait a minute... she had gotten to the entrance of the witches kingdom, then she had heard a sound behind her, then she had turned to see some group of scary looking men, and then they had.. "Ohhh," she mouthed as her face contorted with horror. Yes! she had felt a very sharp and intense pain when they had hit her with something on her head. She did not even know what the thing was. It had happened too fast and she wasn't expecting it. Then she remembered something else, and this time, her breath caught hard in her throat.

By the time Val was done bathing, it was already noon. She was now feeling much better and stronger. She felt her muscles loosen and untie themselves in anticipation of a great journey. Pulling a blouse over her head, a smile spread across her face as she chortled quietly. Earlier today, it had been so funny when she had asked her mother about Sophie and her expression had changed. She had thought of the worst things that could have happened to her baby. But as it turned out, nothing had happened. Her mother had just decided to tease her a little, which had gone all wrong. She had been so vexed with her mom that she had demanded to be left alone for some times. But thank goodness, Sophie's condition had improved. Well technically, not really. The boils and rashes were still covering her skin, only that she had stopped her shrieking noise. The only thing she does when she feels the pain is to cry quietly. It was as if she had gotten used to it. Sophie was such a strong baby. As li

Roshan stood in front of his warriors, moving stealthily around and listening carefully for the slightest movement. Where could the Red Moon Pack bastards have gone? he wondered. He scanned the entire environment, he looked up at the sky, still he found not even a trace of them. He began stamping his feet on the ground to check if they had dug the earth up to cover themselves, but the ground was still as sturdy as ever. Then out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a foot track. He snorted contemptuously. Bastards been thinking they're smart, huh? He thought. He started tracing the track, moving carefully forward. Then he came to the end of the track. He gritted his teeth in anger. "Bastards!" he growled angrily. He started going from where he had first seen the track. All of a sudden, he stopped as if a thought had occured to him. He put a finger in his lips, signalling his pack members to be as quiet as they could be. Slowly, he raised his head up to stare up at the trees. "Stand

The demon wolves looked around to know where the sound was coming from. Even Alex was surprised. They could still hear the snapping of bones but they didn't know where it was coming from. Then there was a howl of pain followed by the ripping sound of clothes. Everyone turned in the direction of the sound. It was Kendra. She had shifted to her wolf form. Even the demon wolf that had been dragging her by her hair was surprised, he hadn't even noticed her slipping from his grasp and transforming. Without warning, Alex gave Kendra's daughter to one of the lower rank warriors. "Give the pup to her mother!" He instructed. "Alexander, you're making a hell of mistake!" the Alpha demon wolf said, revealing his slightly crooked fangs. He was glaring at Alex aggressively, and an intense murderous intention was evidently written on his face. "Bring it on, monster!" The Alpha demon wolf growled at him. He seemed not to like being called a monster. Good. Alex noted. "If you think anyone will b

Alex's wolf, Gary shook his body and his white furs bounced proudly on his back. "Mom, you're staying right here," he repeated. And was out of the office in the next moment as the office door banged shut. Once outside, Gary let out a howl drawing the attention of a demon wolf that had his back to him. The demon wolf turned and the only thing Alex could think about for a while was, what the fuck? What kind of a creature was this? he thought. In fact they shouldn't be called demon wolves at all, rather they should be called demon monster because what in goodness name was this? The demon wolf was twice in size as a normal werewolf, and he had a very ugly face. To Alex, the demon wolf that had just turned to look at him looked like shit. The face was that of a human, then he had very long fangs, longer than a regular werewolf's fangs and his claws were showing in his feet and hands. He also had two horns etched deep into two sides of his skull. He had the features of a human and wolf. I

"Alpha Alex, this is not about shutting up. This is more serious than you could ever think. Those people, they are demons, they spit out fire. They're..." "Just be quiet!" he ordered angrily. "Alex, I want to be quiet but..." "Will you wait a damn minute and let me process what you're trying to say. Let me fucking think!" Alex was gradually losing his cool. At any time, he could pounce on Gareth and beat up till he got his blood flowing in this office. His wolf was unleashing a blood sucking aura, and he was breathing so hard to calm himself down and think properly. Matilda could feel the murderous aura emanating from her son. She knew exactly what it meant, and she couldn't let that happen. The beast in him wanted blood, and he would get it whether by force or any other way. "Alex, let's just calm down and listen to what Gareth has to say," she told him pleadingly. Alex shot a hard glance, then his softened gradually and his breathing slowly came to normal. • The Fearless Queen Luna    CHAPTER SEVENTY SIX - UNCERTAINTY AND MIXED FEELINGS

Val woke up alone on top of her bed, still dressed in her pyjamas, a comforter keeping her warm. It was nearly ten o'clock in the morning, and she had no idea where Alex was or where he had gone to. The real question here was did he even sleep on the bed with her? He'd obviously carried her to the bed. She just knew it, but the realization was both heartwarming and unnerving. She wondered if he'd slept at all. She was guessing not. He was probably still angry with her for what she had done yesterday. He was probably still thinking about how stubborn and strong headed she had been. Trying to go on a journey with Sophie alone, and without protection. And the part that would pain him the most was that she hadn't even listened to him at all. Would he hold it against her? Would he start giving her the silent treatment? She swung her legs off the bed and headed for the shower. She needed to redeem herself, She needed to know if he was still angry with her. She needed to know if he had

  • The Fearless Queen Luna    CHAPTER SEVENTY FIVE - A MOMENT FOR DISCUSSION

It was a cold and beautiful morning. Only that it wasn't that beautiful to Alex. He had just woken. Well, scratch that. He didn't even sleep at all. If only a wink for a few minutes could be called a sleep, then let's just say he had just woken up from that sleep. He was feeling restless. Every bone in his body seemed to be complaining. And he knew the reason for that. Something in his guts was telling him he had made a very terrible mistake by letting his wife and daughter go without anyone to protect them. He knew that Val was a little bit overconfident about her fighting skills and abilities as a warrior. But that might not be just enough to protect her and from the sorcery of those evil witches. He walked to the window, lifted the window blinds. A gentle breeze rustled in through and whipped past his face, laying its gentle cold hands on his face. He inhaled in the fresh air that strangely smelled of orange blossoms. He stood resting his hands on the frame, and stared across th
