Nathan and Mason nodded and accepted the invite.

However, Eva was not in the mood.

All she wanted was to leave the party.

She let go of Nathan’s arm and said in a voice small enough for only both of them, “You should go ahead. I’d like to go home.”

Nathan held her arm in response and whispered into her ear, “Why? You can’t take it just because Mason Young got himself another girlfriend?”

Eva was taken aback. She looked at him angrily. “What do you mean by that?”

She bit her lip and retorted, “I just never thought that Mason would actually get together with my rubbish of a stepsister!”

“Hah!”

Nathan burst out with a laugh. “Who are you lying to, Eva Lane?”

His dark eyes stared straight at her. He looked like he could see through her mind.

Nathan’s stare made Eva feel self-conscious. She immediately looked away.

He clenched his teeth. Nathan really wanted to pull off that calm and collected disguise of hers.

However, he stopped himself. All he did was glare coldly at Mason.
