I glance at Cameron.

Cameron shakes his head. “No, she’s good.”

“Nope,” Parker replies. “I’m not breaking protocol.”

I nervously take my phone from my bag. “It’s okay.” I hold it out to him.

“That won’t be necessary,” a male voice asserts from behind us.

We all turn to see a tall man walking towards us with a little girl in his arms. He smiles. “Thanks, Parker, but we have it from here.”

Cameron smiles and shakes the man’s hand. “This is Ashley.” He presents me proudly. “And Ashley, this is my brother Joshua, and this is Ellie.”

Joshua smiles and I see him do a quick assessment of me before he hides it and shakes my hand. “Hello Ashley. Say hello Ashley,” he prompts the shy little girl.

I smile as I watch her. She’s timid like Owen.

“Hello.” She smiles sweetly.

Joshua is tall—about six-foot four like Cam with crew cut, dark hair and a muscular physic. I swallow the lump in my throat. He has a square Jaw, two-day shadow, and piercing blue eyes, and

Oh no. They’re nice. This gets worse. They’re fucking nice. I turn to face Cameron and he smiles sexily. He gives me that look and I feel myself melt. Natasha and Adrian smile at each other and Adrian winks. I feel like a bit of a freak as they all do their assessment of me. This is so awkward.“When you two are through being creepy, how about you offer the poor girl a drink?” Joshua asks as he walks into the kitchen and wraps his arms around Natasha from behind.Natasha smiles. “Would you like a drink, Ashley?”I nod as I wring my hands nervously in front of me. “Thank you, that would be nice.”“What would you like? Red, white?”Adrian stands. “I think this is a champagne kind of occasion.”My face falls. This just keeps getting worse. I nod. “Or there’s that,” I whisper.Suddenly, three children come running into the room, two girls followed by a boy who is chasing them with a tennis ball. He throws it hard and it hits the eldest girl. She squeals, picks it up, and throws it back at

I really, really like this girl.“Sure.” He picks up his glass and leads her out the back, and I watch as they close the door behind them.“Oh my God,” I whisper to Natasha and Joshua. “She’s gone out there to give it to him.”Natasha’s face falls. “What? Why?”“He paid her phone bill and she just found out.”Joshua frowns. “How do you know that?”“I was eavesdropping.”Joshua rolls his eyes. “Why am I not surprised?” he mutters with a shake of his head.Natasha comes over to the counter. “Cameron really likes this girl. I haven’t seen him like this before.”“You know who it is, don’t you?” I whisper.“Who?” She frowns.“This is Mrs. Stanton.”Natasha screws up her face. “Who?”“Remember the girl that Cameron met in Vegas years ago when he lost his phone and couldn’t contact her,” I reply. “He called her Mrs. Stanton.”Natasha’s eyes widen and they flicker between Joshua and me. “That’s her?” She gasps. “He was obsessed with that girl.”“Still is by the looks of it,” Joshua adds. Her

“I did lose my fucking phone that night.” He fires back. “Back me up here Stan. Did I lose my phone that night?” he asks.Joshua smiles and nods. “Affirmative. He did.”He points at me across the table. “And I was pissed that I lost your number.”“I was kind of glad to be honest. I think I dodged a bullet.” I smile cheekily. The table erupts into laughter again. This is a fun night. I can be myself and I feel comfortable.“You won’t be dodging anything when we get home,” Cameron fires back.“Ash, I have a charity ball on the weekend. You must come.” Natasha smiles. My face falls. “Oh. Um…” I glance at Cameron. His face lights up. “Yes! We can go away again.”“You went away at the weekend?” Adrian asks, clearly surprised.“I took Ash to New York.”Natasha and Adrian’s eyes meet across the table in some kind of unspoken acknowledgement.“Why didn’t you take the plane?” Joshua asks.Cameron frowns. “Because then it would have been a thing and I would have had to explain who Ashley was.”

I hold the phone in my hand. I’m working tonight and I haven’t told Cameron yet. He sent me a text asking me to come over because he was making dinner. We’ve spent every night together since we hooked up. I dial his number and he answers on the first ring.“Hey, Bloss. How did the dress shopping go?” His voice is happy and jovial. My heart flips in my chest at the sound of his voice. I adore him. “Hi, babe. Tash’s wardrobe shopping was good. We went out for lunch afterwards.”“It seems you have them wrapped around your finger.”I giggle.“Natasha rang me this afternoon and told me not to fuck things up with you.”My stomach drops. I’m the only one who is going to fuck this up.“Cam, I can’t come over tonight.”“Why not?”“I’m working.”“What?” He hesitates as he puts the puzzle together. “At the club?” he snaps.I swallow my nerves. “Yes, I start at ten.”“No!” He pauses for a moment. “I don’t want you going there at all.”“Cam.”“Ashley, I fucking mean it. You’ll probably fuck this up way before I do.”Oh man, if only he knew how true that statement is. I giggle as he rolls on top of me.“I’ve got an idea.” I smile against his lips.“What’s that?” he asks as his mouth drops to my neck.“How about you show me that animal fucking thing that you do so well.”His eyes widen in delight and he slides his hard cock

The sun peeks through the blinds we didn’t shut properly last night. We’re in the Four Seasons on the top floor. I would call it the Stanton floor because the whole floor was booked just for us for security reasons.I can’t believe how the other half live. And what seems unbelievable is that they are really, really nice people. We had dinner last night in Natasha and Joshua’s suite after the kids went to bed with Adrian, Nicholas, and Jarvis. We drank expensive wine and laughed. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. The conversation is natural, intelligent, and funny, and I feel like I’ve finally found my people… just as I’m on the precipice of fucking it up.Cameron is sleeping and I sit up and watch him for a moment. What a beautiful man he is. He’s different to his brother. I can tell by the way he is with Adrian and the others, he seems more in tune, but then I suppose that’s a doctor thing. It’s his job to be in tune with people. And he is so in tune with me.I’ve never had t

I stare at the mirror as the makeup girl paints on the last of my gloss red lips. I feel like a movie star. I’m wearing a gold sequin designer dress that is fitted and backless with spaghetti straps. My hair is down and set in Hollywood curls, and my makeup is out of this world. When I knew I was wearing this dress, I even bought matching sexy cream underwear. I’m buzzing with nerves. I’m tired, yet excited, and I’ve missed Cameron today. I’ve seen him for all of ten minutes.“So, this is your lipstick and then this is the lacquer to put over the top. And here is the powder if you get a bit shiny to reapply throughout the night.” The trendy makeup girl smiles as she hands everything over.“Okay.” I look around for my purse. “How much do I owe you for this?”She smiles warmly. “It’s all been taken care of. Nothing to pay.”“Oh.” I frown. This seems so weird. “Are you sure?”She nods. “Have fun.” And with one last look at me she smiles and leaves the bathroom. I blow out a breath as I t

The table erupts into giggles and I choke on my drink. That is such a Cameron thing to say. Cameron is Joshua’s younger brother, and someone very dear to us all. He’s never serious for a moment, and it’s hard to believe he’s a doctor in L.A. He’s cheeky as all hell and keeps us amused with his wicked one-liners and sense of humor. He has every woman he meets eating out of his hand.“Cameron!” Abbie snaps, feigning shock. “For your information, I do not bang like a barn door.”He smiles into his beer. “I beg to differ.” His eyes dance with delight as he teases.“You wish you knew if I banged like a barn door, Cam,” she replies flatly. He raises his glass with a grin.Joshua frowns. “I think you might need a new phone, Didge.” He narrows his eyes as he concentrates. “The engage seems to be disabled.”I roll my eyes. “Will you speak English? “Bring him to me?” I repeat with a raised brow. Is he kidding me? “What are you, Henry VIII now?” Unable to help it, I smirk. “What are you going to do, Ben? Behead him?”His eyes hold mine for an extended moment. “Possibly.” He must realize how ridiculous he just sounded because he smiles sexily. “It’s tempting.”Our eyes lock and a ripple of electricity zaps in the air between us.Cut it out.Silence hangs, but he finally breaks it. “It’s good to see you, Didge. I’ve thought of you often.”My eyes search his. I get a lump of regret in my throat and I just want to shake him for putting me through hell.I force a smile. “You, too.”I don’t mean it. Seeing him only makes it hurt that little bit more, knowing we didn’t work out. Unfortunately, I wasn’t imagining the chemistry we had. I always had hoped that maybe it had been a dream. I thought that if we ever saw each other again it would be like seeing an old friend in the street—I would feel nothing and be happy that I had moved on an

“He’s not that bad.” I laugh. “And yes, he’s a cop… and he’s smoking hot, so he’s got a lot to love. Keep your opinions to yourself, Abs. Please remember you’re dating a gorilla on steroids. You can’t exactly judge.”Natasha and Abbey laugh, and I glance up and see Max smirking in the rearview mirror.“Yeah, well, that gorilla is an animal. I’m so down with gorillas.”Tash and I smirk because Abbey is a slut—a bona fide, self-confessed, slut. She loves men and sex, and she’s enjoying every perk of being a super attractive single woman. Her hair is long and golden, and she has a kicking body that she shows off unashamedly. She has every man she meets eating out of her hand. Her mantra is no boyfriends, no strings… just fun. And, boy, does she have the fun. I know he’s strong. I know he’s not a talker. But those nights in his arms were filled with tenderness and love.Where is that man?Because I want him back.I lie in the darkness at 1:00 a.m. The sound of the ocean drifts through the room and the soft breeze rolls over my body. As usual, I’m torturing myself with thoughts of Ben Statham and his beautiful body. Where is he now? Is he asleep? The last time we were together I told him I loved him. I never meant to, but I couldn’t help it. He nibbles on my neck and I smile as I try to wriggle away from him.“No.” I turn, and he takes me in his arms.
