"Where are you off to in a hurry?” I said to Kira as she breezed past me. “I have always told you to be careful or have you forgotten that you are pregnant? Any harm can come to your baby if you stress yourself too much."

I accosted her and held her arm gently. She had that skeptical look on her face.

"I heard that something happened to Alianna,” she replied, “I have been looking for her all through the day, but I couldn't find out where she was. She told me she was going to do something but hasn't returned. Even when I was at the library she didn't come. I was getting worried and when I asked one of the servants, they told me that she was sick. They saw Jayden carrying her to her room. I'm just going to check on her."

I didn't let go of her because I knew that once she saw Alianna, that little brat would tell her what I did.
