Chapter 3

Alexis POV

“Dad messaged me and said he’s at France waiting for his connected flight.” Alex said

“He’ll be in Rome and settled by seven tonight in our time, right? I asked glancing at him,

“Yeah, France is six hours ahead of us” He replied eyes focused on the road.

“But wouldn’t it be too late to call him, it’ll be 1 in the morning there.”

“Knowing your dad, I’m pretty sure he’ll be up doing paperwork” Brit says grinning.

“Maybe” I said chuckling and agreeing with her.

After about ten minutes of driving, we pull up Starbucks.

“What are you guys getting?” Brit asked suggesting that the bill was on her.

In unison me and Alex shrugged and said “Cappuccino” Brit looked at us mouth slightly agaped and looking at us funny.

“I seriously can’t get use to that. It’s creepy”

“Yes, Alex it’s creepy so stop” I said looking at him

“H—” He closed his eyes, sighed and walked away.

Me and Brit looked at each other knowingly and laughed entering the store.

“Welcome to Starbucks what can I get you?” The brown-haired girl says behind the counter with a smile.

“3 Cappuccino's please” Brit ordered.

Right as she ordered I suddenly felt a feeling, a weird feeling as if my life will no longer be the same, but I showered down the feeling like any normal person would.

“Person for 3 Cappuccino’s!” The worker called out. Brit raised her hand and went and collected them. Me and Alex took ours and made our way back to the car.

“Hey, did you see the new TikTok Beatrice posted,” Brit says cringing at her phone.

“What’s it about?” Alex asked her

“Looks like she has a new boy toy” I said cringing at the video.

“He got caught right in her web, she’ll eat him alive. I feel really sorry for all the dudes that fall prey to her trap.”

“I mean it's what they want” Alex said sipping his coffee.

“Yeah but—” Before I could finish my sentence I was cut off when I felt an arm grabbing me, but I guess the timing was wrong when suddenly I crashed into something hard making my drink fall from my hand but before it could hit the ground a firm veiny hand reached down and caught it.

“I’m so sorry, I-I should have looked where I was going.” I manage to say

A scent tickled my nostrils, and I smiled a bit. He smelled like nature, the smell of water droplets seconds after it starts raining, the bouquet of flowers blooming in the season spring, and the whiff of his lavender shampoo. Layers and layers of smell sedated him. I inhaled deeply and the scent seemed too hypnotizing, I quickly broke out of this somewhat trance when I desperately wanted to see his face, and my head moved on its own.

My gaze steadily traveled up his face, passing over his freshly shaven jaw, and finally landed on a pair of silver orbs. He turned his head away from mine and cast a blank glance in my direction before turning to look behind me and I wondered what he was looking at, it seemed as though I had lost all control over who I was. In a split second, his eyes reconnected with mine, and he cocked his head just a little to the right. His expressionless stare at me then softened into one that appeared as though he had just discovered something.

“You’re—” His voice rang in my ears, deep and sublime. It wasn’t Morgan Freeman’s or Sean Connery’s rich voices, but it was and was soothing to the ears.

“Aum—” I heard a voice a tad bit higher octave than his speak up, which came as a shock to me. I took in a short breath my eyes blinking on repeat as I took a step backwards. I really didn’t remember that everyone else was in our space.

“I’m sorry, Xavier here should have also looked at where he was going.” A girl’s voice said. My gaze shift momentarily to the others who were behind him.

A boy who looked about 6’2 with light brown eyes and brunette hair stood only a foot away from a girl who was about 5’9, maybe an inch taller than me. She had blond hair with chunky highlights that matched her cute outfit.

Damn if only I could have some natural talent like that.

“My name is Vy with a y and this is my boyfriend Tyler and his best friend as you already know his name is Xavier.” She said pointing to each of them. My eyes glanced back to Xavier and our eyes met once more. I cleared my throat quickly looking away.

“This is Alexis and her twin Alex and I’m Brit, short for Brittany.” Brit spoke up maybe realizing that I was too dumb to speak at the moment.

“I’s nice meeting you guys” Vy said.

“Lexi your drink” Alex whispered to me. Oh yeah.

“M- my drink” I said stuttering with a soft smile.

“Oh sorry” Xavier apologized. As he reached out to give me the cup, his fingers uncannily touched mine. My fingers felt an electrical shock that then spread throughout the rest of my body. I swiftly withdrew my hand, still holding the coffee, as my heartbeat raced. I took a shaky breath in and briefly turned to face him, but this time his eyes were fixed on his fingers—the same ones that had just so happened to have slightly quickened my heartbeat.

“Sorry” I quickly say, and I turned to Alex and Brit smiling but with the look that I wanted to leave from here.

I responded with my best "what is it" expression as Alex's eyes furrowed and he gave me a stern glare. He exhaled slowly and shook his head to indicate that it was nothing, but I knew him too well to miss the fact that he was troubled by something based on the way his expression stiffened when he looked at Mr. Dirty Blonde.

“It was nice meeting you too” Brit relate.

“Let’s go” she said grabbing my arm, and all three of us walked away and so did they. I looked back and met with a face who was already looking my way, and because of that, my head quickly did a 180 and I hastened my footsteps.

“Draco why are you walking so fast” Brit whisper yelled.

“What was that about?” Alex calmly asked

“What was what?” I asked as if I didn’t know what he wanted to know.

“Nothing, never mind, it really is probably nothing” he said more to himself than to me. He pressed the button to open the car doors and all three of us jumped in.

“But for real, both of you were gawking at each other and shit,” Brit says looking intensely at me.

“I wasn’t gawking, so I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I explained trying to shrug off the unknowing feeling.

“If you say so” she said finding it amusing that it was finally her time to sing this cliché tune.

I sighed rolling my eyes, I wanted to turn around and see if they were even in the distance, but I forced myself not to. That would be so weird right? Right.

“But wasn’t that single dude HOT!” Brit said squealing and emphasizing the word hot.

“And how do you know he’s single?” I asked nonchalantly.

“I can smell it” she says proudly.

“You can sm—, okay I— let’s just go home”

“For reals, I can literally smell singleness oozing off of him,” Brit says falling back on the seat.

Alex groaned loudly. “You good?” I asked chuckling unsure of what's up.

He looked at me and back to the steering wheel and within three seconds he started the car and drove off without saying a word.

I looked to Brit in the back, and she shrugged lightly. I gave her the ‘Ask him’ nod and she replied with a face all scrunched up. I rolled my eyes for the 100th time today and once again I gave her the look.

“A-Alex?” He hummed in response.

“Are you okay?” she asked him

“Yeah—” And just like that the car went in an uncomfortable silence.

Brit lightly shoved me, and I looked to her again. “He’s not okay” she mouthed.

“No shit Sherlock” I mouthed back, which earned me the bird from her.

I turned back in my seat and stared out the window. Truly though what really was that electric feeling, and no it wasn’t a shocking feeling like the one where you push your wet finger into a socket, but it was that chilling feeling that make goosebumps cloud your skin, and that feeling felt alien, but in a good way.

I wonder if I’ll see him again.

They finally meet thank God. 

This chapter is shorter than the last two, but I thought it was best to stop it here🙃... Now I have no clue what to write about in the next chapter💀.

😭😒School starts on Monday and that's gonna give me even less time to write (I think) but I promise you🙏 I'll try my best to upload.
