I raised my head to face Jude instantly. "Come again. Max is who?" I asked.

"She had a younger brother who is in his last year in high school. His name is Max. From the information I gathered, he was kidnapped a few days before you met Emily. Then his abductors had allegedly dropped him in front of the apartment and ran off. He had been in a coma ever since," Jude explained.

I held my head with my hands then kicked my table. I was a complete idiot to think she had a lover. She had been concerned about her unconscious brother but I was insensitive to accuse her of infidelity which I was guilty of. I browsed through the document and found the name of the hospital where he was admitted.

I held the document, picked my car keys and hurried to my car. Jude could not stop me as I sped out of the company's environment before he could reach me.
