LEO POV

We had escorted Max to the airport and I had one of my trusted men to take him to a safe place. I suggested that Emily should follow him but she refused. I was going through a tough time and she wanted to be with me. She also wanted to avenge her brother who had been comatose for months. While we returned from the airport, she had her face away from me and stared outside the window. She wept silently but the driver and I knew that she was crying. The driver checked through the rearview mirror then moved his eyes away immediately he noticed that I was staring right back at him.

"Babe, he'll be fine, I promise," I assured her. She wiped away her tears and feigned a weak smile.

"You don't have to pretend that all is fine," I said. She looked into my eyes then at the window.
