Chapter 3 The Yellow Eyes

last update Last Updated: 2023-05-19 19:46:15

"Finally!"

A man was staring at the full moon shining brightly from the window. He wiped the corner of his lip that was still wet with fresh blood with his thumb. He turned around and looked at an old man who was sitting tied to a wooden chair.

"I apologise, old man! Although I detest doing it, I am unable to stop now. I believe that sleeping will improve your comfort. The second time won't hurt at all, I assure you.

He had bloodshot pupils and stared deeply at the old man. He made his way towards the elderly man while smirking at him. A pair of fangs appeared when his face was level with the elderly man.

"Hmmph..." The elderly man mumbled indistinctly as his mouth was covered in duct tape.

"Do you have anything to say for the last time?" the man asked as he raised one eyebrow.

The young man's question was answered with a nod of his head by the elderly man. The duct tape on his mouth had come off and he said, "Have mercy on this old man, son! I won't tell anyone about this!"

Unfortunately, I'm not as forgiving as you may assume, and that's a tired excuse. Ahh...humans and all their sneaky tricks. Humans are the most dangerous creatures in this earth, so I detest them for acting like they are the weakest.

"I have a family, and you must have a family like me," the elderly guy glared at the man.

"Yes, sir, you're right. I once had a family, but I slaughtered them, therefore I lost them... Like I'm about to do to you right now!"

"NO...!"

He bit the elderly man's neck and stopped when there was no more movement from him. He pushed the old man until his body fell to the floor. He clucked lazily while rolling his eyes as if bored by the scene presented in front of him.

The man walked to the other side of the window and looked at the house opposite. Boredom overwhelming him, he decided to get some fresh air outside. The man moved quickly towards the door and left the house.

Still with his quick movements, he found a large tree trunk along the residential driveway and looked up at the full moon once more. He circulated his gaze before bending down and growling. His body shook with the sound of breaking bones followed by a heavy groan. The clothes he was wearing had been torn apart and flung in random directions. His pupils, which were originally red in colour, turned yellow.

Now his entire body was covered in dense black fur. A few seconds later the man was standing on all fours. He sharpened all his senses to ascertain his surroundings from humans.

[A short walk might take the edge off my tension]

He ran away from the residential area towards the nearby forest and still sharpened his wolf sense of smell. After reaching the outer boundaries of the forest, he stopped for a moment to simply stretch his muscles. He sat on his hind legs on a large rock looking up at the full moon. He howled loudly at the moon in the hope that this full moon night would bring him a glimmer of happiness.

Now the black wolf walked slowly with increased vigilance. The wolf decided to stop at a bush with purple flowers. He paused for a long time while staring at the small wildflower and then stepped on it with one of his front paws.

After that, his sense of smell caught a very unfamiliar scent. The scent intoxicated him and prompted him to search for where the source of the scent came from.

[Feromone!] the voice inside the wolf confirmed it. He wanted to quickly find someone with the scent of pheromones that so lulled his sense of smell. He walked along the edge of the forest and found a girl who was walking alone at the edge of the forest bordering the highway.

He observed her while savouring her scent. The desire from within his body compelled him to mark the girl immediately. He came out of the bushes that bordered the forest to approach the girl.

"Why should I get involved with her?" cursed Edith to herself.

Edith walked on the side of the road, she didn't want to look back because she didn't want to be chased by Seth. Right now, she really hated that man and wanted to get away from him as soon as possible.

The road ahead was quite dark, only the light of the full moon illuminated her steps. Edith slowed down her pace. Right now she could only hear the sounds of forest animals playing together like a nature orchestra at night.

Edith shifted her gaze left and right. She was sure that Seth, was not following her. She realised that she was alone on the road. She remembered that she was currently on an alternative route to reach the Shepperton area.

Edith began to feel the cold touching her skin. She did not wear a jacket to protect her body from the cold, relying only on her arms to keep her warm. She kept walking down the long road ahead of her, even though the atmosphere around her was getting tense.

Indeed, for some people, an emotionally charged self will dismiss any fears that lie ahead. Edith felt that way right now. She didn't care about the eerie sounds in the forest around her. She was struggling with her own thoughts, whether to believe Seth's words or stick to her stance.

"Shit! This is really frustrating!"

Edith gave up, she didn't want to think about it anymore, so she just walked with a blank stare towards the road. At a glance, she seemed to hear the sound of rustling leaves not far from the road she was walking on. She stopped her steps and confirmed the situation for a moment.

"Who's there? Seth, is that you?"

She looked towards the direction. Squinting her eyes into the darkness of the forest, she seemed to see a pair of yellow eyes burning from the direction of the sound. As if returning Edith's gaze, the pair of eyes moved closer slowly. The pair of yellow eyes moved closer to her, followed by a furry body with its four legs propping the body up on the ground.

Edith widened her eyes, she backed away slowly. She looked at the yellow eyes once more and started to feel frightened when the beast started growling and showing its fangs. From its movements, it looked like it wanted to pounce on Edith. Edith fell to the ground, her heart already racing.

The beast was already in the air and ready to pounce on Edith. Edith screamed loudly hoping that someone or a vehicle would pass by to help her, but not a single sound came out of her mouth. She became weak and her vision once again began to darken, she could only hear the loud growling and snorting of the beasts around her. The next second Edith couldn't hear anything anymore.

She only said hoarsely, "What exactly...was that...hhh?"

Edith was surprised but was immediately able to behave normally. Julie communicated with Edith in the form of soul projection like Jovanka did. She explained to Edith how Katarina's magic bond worked on her. Her aunt had made Julie's body a receptacle for her soul so that she could live forever without an immortal mate. [Don't make Katarina suspicious. I need something ancient and powerful like your pendant to kill the witch."] "I understand," Edith whispered as quietly as possible. [Dad?] Now Julie was talking to Seth. She asked Seth to lead Liam to this place, so she could destroy the objects together. Seth was surprised that only Julian could mindlink with her and he was surprised that his daughter could do that with him too. [Wait for me, Julie.] [Okay, dad] Meanwhile Julie was casting spells and curses on Matilda with her theatrical body. Seth found Liam standing in the centre of the altar. The wolf was preparing himself for his ritual that was not carried out hundreds of y

"Julie will be with me until she is 17 years old. She will be a great witch because I will teach her my skills. You see? She's bound to me."Katarina said it smoothly. Of course Edith had thought that Katarina wanted Julie too. Edith was more inclined to Katarina's consideration because she was still her family. She wouldn't hurt her own family. She also couldn't just break it off because Julie still had a father. Seth would not agree to the consideration because Katarina had attacked his pack members and even made him die in the past. Everything became a dilemma for Edith. At a crucial time like this, Edith must be able to decide quickly. More than a dozen pack members' lives are in her hands. Only Katarina could open the portal to find their whereabouts."All right, but on the condition that you break the bond between the two of you," said Edith."Tough choice.""Don't waste our time, witch!" snapped Jen sarcastically."Just do it and I'll break the bond as soon as you let us go. The mansion inhabited by the oldest vampire clan was protected by a veil from being seen by humans.Only Edith and Kai could see through the veil that separated the lakeside from the spacious courtyard of the mansion. I only see the pine trees.""You hold Jen's hand while I hold Jed's. Only

"She chose a hotel as a residence? How strange."From the clues given by Kellan, Seth arrived at a three-star hotel. He knocked gently on the door but there was no answer from inside. Seth repeated and called out.He put his ear to the door and sharpened his sense of hearing. His ears did not hear any activity from inside the room. He pushed the door, which was not closed tightly."Hello?"Seth walked into the room. He saw two empty beds and several bottles of liquor on the table. He continued to check the rest of the room but found no one in the room."Is grandpa wrong?"Seth finally decided to leave the room. Lingering in that place would only be a waste of time while Julie was in danger. He had to use the time available to find his daughter.*"Hello..."Katarina grinned at the two guards on the left side of the mansion gate. Then she simply moved her hand so quickly that the two guards went into convulsions. Until they slumped to the ground, Katarina just looked at them with an ar

"Bye, mom."Julie waved at Edith, who smiled at her from the main terrace. Right beside Julie, Kai waved goodbye to Alexandra. He was in charge of escorting Julie to her school according to Seth and Edith's orders.Julie hoped that her ride this time would not have any obstacles like yesterday because of the witch. She played with the jar of moths that she had caught last night because they had entered her room. Noticing it with a smile, Julie brought the moth to keep her company on the way to school. The silence was broken when the car stopped slowly. Julie saw three pale-faced men standing in front of their car. Kai quickly got out of the car and approached the three men."I guess Mikael was so desperate that he sent you guys on this sunny day just to cheer me up. Speaking of which, how's Blanche doing after I squeezed her heart?"One of the three growled angrily. Without saying much, the man attacked Kai by grabbing him by the neck. Kai coughed until both of his hands tried to rele

"Fuck, I really hate them."Margot shouted, breaking the chandelier after clenching her fists in the air. She felt exasperated by the incident. Her anger was not channelled just because she saw the offspring of the person who made her miserable for the past 200 years. The seven rogue wolves surrounding her gasped in surprise and looked at each other. When the chandelier made a loud shattering sound, Gautier got up from the chair. He advanced towards Margot and looked deeply at her."What exactly is your problem with those brown wolves? From what I saw you were flirting with them earlier," Gautier was irritated by Margot's attitude."That's none of your concern."Margot looked away. Obviously, that made Gautier suspicious. Margot's words and deeds were inversely proportional and he wanted to know the truth."Tell the truth. We all need to know it, apart from the reason for the werewolf race to triumph again. It doesn't make sense that a witch would have the sincerity to help a werewolf
