Odessa

The warm covers shifted. My body was wrapped up in a cocoon that was holding me tightly together. Groaning, I tried to wiggle free, only to find my mate standing at the large windows at the edge of our room. He stood ridged. I felt his dragon growling, stirring inside him. His large shoulders pulled back, his scales rippling down his arms, only to be sucked back into his body.

“Creed?” I whispered, finally pulling the warmth of the covers away. I was in a nightgown. He must have dressed me, I don’t even remember coming back from dancing. Creed’s body stood by the window, being utterly still, his eyes scanning the courtyard. It looked to be morning, but looking up into the sky, there were no suns.

My arms wrapped around him, my head leaning on his back. “I have to go find him, Odessa,” Creed brea

Creed. For three days, my parents, the dragons of our tribe and the entirety of Orion’s people, hunted vampires. The days were long, and the nights were longer with Odessa, not by my side. She did not heed my warning by staying away from the windows at night. Each hour I passed her window, I saw her sleeping, sitting up with a hand lingering on the glass. Her hot breath fanned the supposedly impenetrable material. Feeling her dragon’s heartache only put my dragon in a fever. He wanted to be right beside his mate too, but we had to do this. We had to stay out and help the others, but seeing her uncomfortable had my dragon reach for her.My dragon pushed forward, having us land on the platform below inside the gates. My feet moved on their own accord. I was too tired to fight the beast inside me, too tired to deny him our mate. With newfound energy, we ran through the halls, slapping our feet against the marble without caring waking anyone sleeping. Th

  • The Exiled Dragon   Magic

OdessaMy mind was made up when the day ended on day two. I was extremely mad. Was it completely childish of me? Of course, it was, but I didn’t care. I was going through the “whiny” teenager stage I never went through and wanted Creed with me.Everyone was out hunting vampires, witches, and whatnot while the women sat in the library listening to a famous sorceress, Bohdi, that came from Earth to help us with our dilemma. She had been called on by Princess Sadie and her parents, saying they direly needed help and that a large war was going to be upon us.She was a bit eccentric; she talked about how she dyed her naturally back hair into bright blonde so she would not be recognized easily. The only thing giving her away would be spells she would cast on people and the imprint it leaves. If a skillful witch knew what they were doing, they could extract the marker and find out it was her.“You’re a gorgeous dragon,” she sa

  • The Exiled Dragon   Unexpected

OdessaOrion gave a knowing look to Creed, who only stiffened, giving a curt nod, leading me out behind the throne to a secret passageway. Bringing me down a dark corridor that could only look like where Disney characters go to pop out at their new destination. Feeling the wall, his fingers found a seam, pounding it on it several times, it opened leading out into thick, lush bushes taller than himself.“How did you?” I went on to say, only to see that wonderful smile he just gave me.“I could smell the honeysuckles outside,” his velvet voice had me melting. Grabbing his hand, he led me through the small unused path and into an untamed garden. It was overgrown, the vines crept up the side of the palace walls, the flowers stood out amongst the lightened brick with their deep blues and purples. Pixies grabbed the nectar from each flower, poured it into a small vial, and kept it to their chests. We walked further on the stony path, fee

  • The Exiled Dragon   A Ruse

Nicholas led Creed through a series of dark corridors of the palace. With each step, Nicholas’ heart pounded in his chest as he continued to go further and further into the ground of the infamous dungeons of the Light Kingdom. There were several floors that contained different holding cells. One for the lesser crimes such as petty theft, the deeper your descent, the worse the crimes and the worst punishment prisoners received. As they continued lower, the heat of the light sources no longer penetrated into the Bergarian soil. The icy darkness consumed them as the torches on the wall continued to struggle to keep the hallway’s light. Drips of stale water, blood, and sewage dripped down the aging rocks. The rust hung on the silver and iron bars, scraped by the thick skin of Creed, who hung close to the cells. Showing no fear to the prisoners that hid within.Orion stood at the end of the last level of the prison. His white robes were a stark contrast to the d

  • The Exiled Dragon   Unbinding

OdessaThrobbing pain in the back of my head made me twitch. I tried to put my hand on the back of my head, only to feel a grip tighten around my body. Groaning, I continued to squirm until I heard a series of cooing words like they were supposed to comfort me. Feeling my dragon, she was anything but comfortable. She was downright angry.Unfamiliar smells filled my nose, smells of old copper coins laced with a hint of a deep spicy cologne that had me scrunching up my nose. It wasn’t pleasant at all, waking me further. The icy wall that held me close didn’t help with the smell, it only grew stronger the tighter the hold that came on me.An icy hand buried my face into the wall, still not feeling the familiar warmth of Creed. My hands pushed away, still not able to open my eyes.“It’s alright,” the familiar seductive voice sang through the air. My body instantly stiffened, knowing exactly where I was. • The Exiled Dragon   A Sliver of Thread

CreedTaking off from the palace gardens, my wings were thrust forward, causing the area to be rained down by a relentless wind. The smaller sapling trees falling over, petals of mystical flowers that Odessa had enjoyed in our walk in the garden were instantly shredded to pieces. Female dragons stood on the ground, holding their palms up to their foreheads as I graced the sky straight to the light sources.Male warriors ripped their tunics, stripping down just to their loincloths, trying to follow. Reaching the top of the trees, I discovered the forest, looking for any movement. She couldn’t have gone too far. I haven’t left her for too long. I could feel the pull in my chest guiding me in the general direction of where she might be, but the pull became weaker and weaker as I tried to follow.Heading south, there was only so much land they could cover just on foot. My flight could take me a quarter of the time more than that of horses. However, if bl

Odessa“Let’s hurry. I don’t want to waste time.” Morgana grabbed a bag from the doorway. The clinking of bottles inside had my stomach churn. What the heckers was going to happen to me now? A frightening chill of a hand landed on my shoulder, the churning in my stomach now gravitated toward a full upheave of my lunch.“Relax lovely, she is just going to get started with the unbinding. It will only hurt for a moment and the rest of our days will be spent in bliss.”“No!” I shouted back. My dragon was seething. I felt her anger filter through my frustration of helplessness as the witch tried to help me from the bed. “I will not, I don’t want this!” Struggling against the witch, she slapped me across the face, the sting going straight to my eye as I felt a drop of blood drip down from my tear duct from her witchy claws.Duke Mortus grabbed her by the upper arm, slinging her across the room. &

Odessa groaned, stretching her body as the furs tickled her naked skin. Her body was delightfully sore from the night before. Creed had taken the extra time to please his mate along with extra massages to help her pulled muscles.Reaching with her hand to feel the surrounding furs, she could not feel her mate. The furs were cold on her side of the nest. Picking her head up to look around their cave, she spotted her mate's muscular back in front of the fire. He was using the new skillet that Odessa had requested so she could have her favorite graving, fried eggs.Odessa sat up with great effort, pushing herself from the furs and pulling her legs over the edge. Creed's ears picked up the ruffle in their nest and quickly stopped what he was doing. "My fawn," he grumbled as he went to her. His knees knelt to the floor, putting his palms on the outside of her thighs. "You should rest. We did too much. I did too much." Odessa giggled, pulling him to standing, kissing h

  • The Exiled Dragon   Almost Happy Ending

Odessa Sleep came in short bursts throughout the night. Rolling over to be spooned ended up being another steamy session of lovemaking. Not that I minded. My dragon, with her powers, fully awakened, gave me bursts of energy. I could have stayed up for days, it felt, but of course, after a pleasurable high, I couldn’t help but feel contented as I fell back asleep. Creed’s braids were a mess. His normal scowl he gives to anyone but me all but faded. His peaceful features gave me a new kind of pleasure. We were safe in our little nest. I can see the appeal now, seeing him asleep while we held each other. My dragon stirred inside me, noticing I could see in the dark quite well as compared before staying in his cave. I swore I could see the faint light at the other end of the cave, letting us know the suns had risen. Fingers tracing his jaw, his face leaned closer, kissing the palm of my hand. “Morning,” I whispered. His eyes flickered open, showing his de

  • The Exiled Dragon   Kama Sutra

Creed Swiftly, I grabbed Odessa by the hand, pulling her in the opposite direction from where everyone was leaving. Heading back to the palace was not in my plans. My plans were to stay away, even if it was for just twenty-four hours. Odessa grunted while I pulled her along to the other side of the viewing area. The heavily wooded steps made no noise I stomped down to ground level. I had kept my calm while we attended this, ‘festivity,’ as King Orion said, but it was far from any festivity. The people will celebrate on their own accord, that the second in command of the Rogue army is now gone. The Light Kingdom and our Dragon Tribe rejoiced, but all I could do was hold on to my mate, comfort her as her dragon destroyed the evil that now lay in ash. Odessa was hiding her genuine emotions with her angelic face. She tried to hide the conflicting emotions, but in her heart; I knew she suffered. Killing was an idea left for me, not for my mate. She was so

  • The Exiled Dragon   Purple Lightning

Odessa“Tell me, mate. Who is behind it all? They are going to destroy my home.” Scorpia’s hands cupped Mortus face. He looked at her, so longingly. Mortus tried to give me that same look, it only made me fear him more. I was glad his obsession with me was over, but what of Scorpia?Could they live together happily if he was forgiven by her? Or were his sins far to great that Orion wouldn’t let him ever leave that stake alive? A bond was sacred here, a gift and was to be cherished and what was going through Scoripia’s mind was something I didn’t want to ever go through. The burden, the heartbreak to find our your mate was someone so evil as this vampire and to make a choice to keep him or leave him. Can she leave him when the goddess gave them to each other?Mortus rubbed his cheek into her hand, feeling her warmth. Scorpia’s wings shook, by fear or the tingles that shot through her I would never know. “The King, o

  • The Exiled Dragon   Beloved/Destined

OdessaCreed's brawny arm was wrapped around my waist, his hand firmly planted on my side while we walked to the arena. The crowd roared with excitement. Faes, fairies, and some of Willa’s siren family were to attend the festivities if you could call it that. The suns were high in the sky; the orcs followed obediently, leading up to the royal viewing area. Their large bodies had difficulties going through the opening of the door, having to move their shoulders to squeeze through.“This looks like another world,” Thorn whispered to Sugha. Sugha had been quiet since landing, his eyes on everything but his orc brothers. While walking to our royal viewing box, they gave us a brief history of themselves, being brothers by the same mother but different fathers. Females were so few and far between hundreds of years ago, women had harems of men to help produce a variety of different genetics to their tribes. Everyone was born a boy and with each passin

  • The Exiled Dragon   Upcoming Trial

OdessaMorning came too quickly, as it always does in times like these. However, I felt refreshed, rejuvenated now that worry about Duke Mortus was over. He was in pieces, still lying next to the wall in bags, guarded by at least ten of King Orion’s soldiers. All during breakfast, I continued to glance toward the bags, waiting to see some sort of movement trying to reassemble himself.“Don’t worry, he can’t do anything,” Ondi came to sit beside me. Creed was fixing me breakfast while I had a large blanket draped over my shoulders to keep the morning fog and coolness away. I felt much warmer than I was last night after the blast of light coming from my body. I still wasn’t sure how that all transpired, but the anger my dragon felt about being touched in ways we didn’t help me release it.She was a force to be reckoned with and a personality that I needed to gain for myself. CreedCampfires surrounded the nearby wall, throwing shadows of our bodies dancing in the night as the flames flickered joyously. It was too late for us to travel and Odessa had become weak using her newfound power. My fawn sat with me, curled up in my arms, while I sat next to the fire to keep her warm. No doubt she was mentally exhausted from dealing with the Duke. His body parts had been separated and put in bundling bags, his head along with his shaft still sticking out of his mouth was put in one to make sure we did not hear him complain about his ailments. Growling as the bags went by to sit near the heavily guarded wall, the Fae Warriors peered fearfully at my fangs. They had seen my dragon, and I wasn’t the most beautiful beast in their eyes, but I was a new race.
