Odessa
I was staring into a whole new world when I blinked my eyes. The colors were more vibrant than before if that were ever possible. The dirt between my fingers, well now claws, scratched at the tiny rocks in the soil. My talons were large, purple, just like in the dragon in the dream I had when I met my father. The scales shimmered in the suns, causing a beautiful rainbow reflection.
“I’m a dragon?” my voice came out louder, deeper, but still the feminine edge to my voice. Wiggling my claws, I could see a large black one next to mine. Straining my neck, I see none other than Creed’s black dragon, only this time his matte black scales shimmered and his dark rainbow-color reflection matched mine.
“We are mated, we are one in the same,” his voice bore deep. His dragon’s head touched mine. I automatically closed my eyes, feeling the warmth coming from his face. “We changed each other.”
“You are
CreedOdessa was visibly shaking. I grabbed her, pulling her to my chest, not letting her see the blood still flow from Fluffy’s body. My own heart ached. Seeing the pet, more like family over the past many years, lay in front of me.My dragon didn’t care for the sentiment. He was enraged. Growls were leaving my chest, thinking of the vampires that were after my mate. They had become closer. My mind had forgotten everything the past few days with my rut. The only concentration was on my Fawn and now we had been pushed back to reality. I still feel my body not fully complete with my rut, but I’d be damn I’d just make love to her after seeing this.My dragon pushed my physical body’s urge to mate with her again, now only worrying about what to do next. We had been on our own, hiding away in caves and now we had nowhere to go, nowhere I could take her. Vampires have caught her scent and will follow us to the ends of the world.&
OdessaI latched onto Amora, feeling Creed’s sisterly bond with her was interesting. His love for her was unconditional, as was hers to him. Once our embrace broke, realizing the impending battle that would happen far sooner than I would have liked, I heard an all too familiar squeal from one of my newest friends.“Oh, my gawwwds! It’s so adorable! The Dragon’s loving each other like that, isn’t it Tangle? I have never seen such a cute lovey session with hot-headed dragons.” Tangle pulled Daine back, laughing silently, hushing him with a kiss.“You are being a bit too loud. They may not appreciate the sentiment.” Creed growled at Daine. He wasn’t a fan of his, I could feel it. Daine wasn’t my best friend, but he could certainly make me laugh. Several other Elven men came up behind them. They were dressed in thick leather with metal plates over their chests. Zaos was nowhere to be found.&ld
Creed“You promised, remember?” Odessa’s hands rubbed my chest, parting my unshaven chest hair. My hands cupped her cheeks, kissing her forehead, then touching it with my own.“I’ve never broken one, not to you.”“Yeah, well, don’t do it anytime soon either or you’ll be in big trouble!” She chastised.“Trouble? What happens when I get in trouble?” My heart hurt to think she would be angry with me. Her worried face faded, a smile appearing.“You won’t find out as long as you keep your promise.”We stood on a large platform that could have been meant for dragons or maybe large squadrons of faes and fairies to land and depart on. Amora stood by Nicholas. They whispered into each other’s ears. Amora’s dragon was yet to fly long distances, so she would stay behind us and ride in our wind-stream.Amora was nervous. Her dragon pranced in her
Odessa“Come on, let’s get you inside,” Willa and Daine grabbed both my arms, leading me toward the massive white doors littered with decorative fairies on the hinges. Orion was speaking to Tangle in hushed, worried tones, until Orion threw out his wings, darkening instantly as he shot off the platform.“Don’t worry about him. He’s just making sure the kingdom is surrounded by guards. Can’t be too careful when your mate is gone.” her hand waved in the air, her wings fluttered violently, causing her feet to barely touch the floor.“Now Amora and I enjoy having spa days, so I think we should do one. Lots of drinking is involved, so I hope you enjoy that!” Daine skipped beside me.“Oh, please, can I come?” he battled his eyelashes. Willa laughed, giving him a wink.“Figured you would. Come on down this door here.” Willa led us down a series of hallways until we finally
Apollo looked Adam in the eye, his eyes forming into those of his griffon. The large slits of his eyes narrowed horizontally, picking up Adam’s heart rate and flushed skin. Adam, on the outside, remained stoic, his body language showing he was the Alpha Dragon of this Tribe. On the inside, he was crumbling. Warriors growled out, some holding spears, while others shifted. “You killed ‘ya mother and ‘ya fathar, killed an entire tribe because of yar greed.” Apollo’s finger pointed at Adam. “An entire tribe wiped out because of tha black magic laced with blood of dragons,” he hissed. Yer a traditor to yer kind!" Adam had worked hard to keep up the façade of a caring Alpha status with the rest of the tribe. He made sure the dragons were fed; the women were taken care of, and they flourished. Most of all, he had the warriors eating out of his hand the way he would reward them with gold and precious stones. As long as he had his warriors, he would remain unstoppable.
OdessaI pulled on his long braids. His startled reaction told me he really didn’t remember. Creed's eyes searched my face, reading every emotion that I could give him. He tried to read me, but none of it registered to him. My dragon continued to call to his, he responded to mine with such intensity, frustrated that his human form couldn't find me.All the times we had kissed, he didn't remember the little gestures I used to entice a kiss. Tugging on his hair, he finally bent over and met me while I stood on my dirty toes. He really didn't remember, his eyes continued to stay open. I wasn’t afraid. I was going to carry on the love that we both had for each other and push it back into him. If he had to relearn everything we had done, I would take the time and patience to do so, because he was worth it. He was my mate and I wouldn’t give him up so easily.I closed my eyes, his lips inches from mine, his head jerked back only for me to push harder
CreedWith Adam no longer a threat to the tribe, to me, or my mate, I did not realize more responsibility would befall me. Being an Alpha was never my intention, and it certainly will not come to pass. After years of being alone, seeing their faces as they jeered and hated me, even under a spell, my heart would not do justice to protect them. The flashes of their faces would always haunt me and when it came time to give judgment to tribe members if ever needed, I would pull from those memories.Being an Alpha was not for me.With King Orion’s offer to help take in the tribe, I was grateful. The area was uninhabitable, and with winter breathing down our necks, it would be wise to spend our time down in the Bergarian plains this year. My only issue would have to be to find a suitable dragon that has alpha blood in their line to take over. The entire tribe took to the sky. I would not let my Fawn fly with us, rather than have her ride on my back. She p
OdessaA bright light filled the wide terrace of the marble barricade, holding us in from falling. Apollo stepped back from the railing, pulling an awe-stricken Creed behind him. Clinging to Creed, my face continued to stare at the brightened spot of the terrace until, out of nowhere, a beautiful woman sat with her legs crossed, leaning back on her straightened arms. Her curled hair pinned back away from her face, she brushed some whisps that dared to get close to her.The light now faded. She stood up, making sure her long robes didn’t inch up above her ankle. “There’s my favorite couple,” her soothing voice lured us closer, but Apollo didn’t dare let us move. Apollo went into a parental figure stance, he stood in front of us, his feathers already spreading down his back.“Are ye a siren? Coming to trick meh son? He has his mate and their bond is too strong fer ya!” She chuckled lightly. My dragon was at peace with this
Odessa groaned, stretching her body as the furs tickled her naked skin. Her body was delightfully sore from the night before. Creed had taken the extra time to please his mate along with extra massages to help her pulled muscles.Reaching with her hand to feel the surrounding furs, she could not feel her mate. The furs were cold on her side of the nest. Picking her head up to look around their cave, she spotted her mate's muscular back in front of the fire. He was using the new skillet that Odessa had requested so she could have her favorite graving, fried eggs.Odessa sat up with great effort, pushing herself from the furs and pulling her legs over the edge. Creed's ears picked up the ruffle in their nest and quickly stopped what he was doing. "My fawn," he grumbled as he went to her. His knees knelt to the floor, putting his palms on the outside of her thighs. "You should rest. We did too much. I did too much." Odessa giggled, pulling him to standing, kissing h
Odessa Sleep came in short bursts throughout the night. Rolling over to be spooned ended up being another steamy session of lovemaking. Not that I minded. My dragon, with her powers, fully awakened, gave me bursts of energy. I could have stayed up for days, it felt, but of course, after a pleasurable high, I couldn’t help but feel contented as I fell back asleep. Creed’s braids were a mess. His normal scowl he gives to anyone but me all but faded. His peaceful features gave me a new kind of pleasure. We were safe in our little nest. I can see the appeal now, seeing him asleep while we held each other. My dragon stirred inside me, noticing I could see in the dark quite well as compared before staying in his cave. I swore I could see the faint light at the other end of the cave, letting us know the suns had risen. Fingers tracing his jaw, his face leaned closer, kissing the palm of my hand. “Morning,” I whispered. His eyes flickered open, showing his de
Creed Swiftly, I grabbed Odessa by the hand, pulling her in the opposite direction from where everyone was leaving. Heading back to the palace was not in my plans. My plans were to stay away, even if it was for just twenty-four hours. Odessa grunted while I pulled her along to the other side of the viewing area. The heavily wooded steps made no noise I stomped down to ground level. I had kept my calm while we attended this, ‘festivity,’ as King Orion said, but it was far from any festivity. The people will celebrate on their own accord, that the second in command of the Rogue army is now gone. The Light Kingdom and our Dragon Tribe rejoiced, but all I could do was hold on to my mate, comfort her as her dragon destroyed the evil that now lay in ash. Odessa was hiding her genuine emotions with her angelic face. She tried to hide the conflicting emotions, but in her heart; I knew she suffered. Killing was an idea left for me, not for my mate. She was so
Odessa“Tell me, mate. Who is behind it all? They are going to destroy my home.” Scorpia’s hands cupped Mortus face. He looked at her, so longingly. Mortus tried to give me that same look, it only made me fear him more. I was glad his obsession with me was over, but what of Scorpia?Could they live together happily if he was forgiven by her? Or were his sins far to great that Orion wouldn’t let him ever leave that stake alive? A bond was sacred here, a gift and was to be cherished and what was going through Scoripia’s mind was something I didn’t want to ever go through. The burden, the heartbreak to find our your mate was someone so evil as this vampire and to make a choice to keep him or leave him. Can she leave him when the goddess gave them to each other?Mortus rubbed his cheek into her hand, feeling her warmth. Scorpia’s wings shook, by fear or the tingles that shot through her I would never know. “The King, o
OdessaCreed's brawny arm was wrapped around my waist, his hand firmly planted on my side while we walked to the arena. The crowd roared with excitement. Faes, fairies, and some of Willa’s siren family were to attend the festivities if you could call it that. The suns were high in the sky; the orcs followed obediently, leading up to the royal viewing area. Their large bodies had difficulties going through the opening of the door, having to move their shoulders to squeeze through.“This looks like another world,” Thorn whispered to Sugha. Sugha had been quiet since landing, his eyes on everything but his orc brothers. While walking to our royal viewing box, they gave us a brief history of themselves, being brothers by the same mother but different fathers. Females were so few and far between hundreds of years ago, women had harems of men to help produce a variety of different genetics to their tribes. Everyone was born a boy and with each passin
OdessaMorning came too quickly, as it always does in times like these. However, I felt refreshed, rejuvenated now that worry about Duke Mortus was over. He was in pieces, still lying next to the wall in bags, guarded by at least ten of King Orion’s soldiers. All during breakfast, I continued to glance toward the bags, waiting to see some sort of movement trying to reassemble himself.“Don’t worry, he can’t do anything,” Ondi came to sit beside me. Creed was fixing me breakfast while I had a large blanket draped over my shoulders to keep the morning fog and coolness away. I felt much warmer than I was last night after the blast of light coming from my body. I still wasn’t sure how that all transpired, but the anger my dragon felt about being touched in ways we didn’t help me release it.She was a force to be reckoned with and a personality that I needed to gain for myself. More self-confidence… which I feel I have
CreedCampfires surrounded the nearby wall, throwing shadows of our bodies dancing in the night as the flames flickered joyously. It was too late for us to travel and Odessa had become weak using her newfound power. My fawn sat with me, curled up in my arms, while I sat next to the fire to keep her warm. No doubt she was mentally exhausted from dealing with the Duke. His body parts had been separated and put in bundling bags, his head along with his shaft still sticking out of his mouth was put in one to make sure we did not hear him complain about his ailments. Growling as the bags went by to sit near the heavily guarded wall, the Fae Warriors peered fearfully at my fangs. They had seen my dragon, and I wasn’t the most beautiful beast in their eyes, but I was a new race. Odessa and I will paint a new way for our future children and establish a new beauty for the world of Bergarain. Odessa stirred in my arms. My fingers trailed her darkened hair, tucking i
OdessaCreed held me tightly, his powerful arms encompassing my waist. My dress was soiled, ripped, and covered in deep red blood. The witch was completely destroyed. Blood covered her face to where I could no longer see the darkness in her eyes.My body tensed, and immediately Creed turned me in the opposite direction. He was so in tune with me as I was him. His fury was far from over, but his urge to protect me and keep me safe kept him from going crazy.Mortus laid on the floor, his head dismembered from his body, but I still did not dare to look in that direction. Whatever Creed did post head ripping, I wasn’t sure, but I bet it would cause permanent damage later. The yells coming from above our heads had been silenced. I didn’t notice them until the roars had subsided. Dirt continued to fall from the area Creed had fallen from the roof. “Where am I?” I whispered, my head looking just into his scruffy neck. I dared not look aro
Odessa“Let’s hurry. I don’t want to waste time.” Morgana grabbed a bag from the doorway. The clinking of bottles inside had my stomach churn. What the heckers was going to happen to me now? A frightening chill of a hand landed on my shoulder, the churning in my stomach now gravitated toward a full upheave of my lunch.“Relax lovely, she is just going to get started with the unbinding. It will only hurt for a moment and the rest of our days will be spent in bliss.”“No!” I shouted back. My dragon was seething. I felt her anger filter through my frustration of helplessness as the witch tried to help me from the bed. “I will not, I don’t want this!” Struggling against the witch, she slapped me across the face, the sting going straight to my eye as I felt a drop of blood drip down from my tear duct from her witchy claws.Duke Mortus grabbed her by the upper arm, slinging her across the room. &
