[ Adeline ]

"What are you doing here, Dad?" I asked him straight. His last time's behavior disturbed me for days.

"I am here to finish our conversation, Adeline." He said walking towards me.

"Excuse me, Ma'am. I'll go and check the preparations of the meeting." Sandra excused herself and went away.

I felt awkward in my father’s presence which was an irony.

"Dad, I'm getting late for my meeting. Can we talk some other time?" I requested him in a low tone because I didn't want any scene at my work place.

"I won't take much of your time, Adeline. I just want you to take your father-in-law's signatures on these papers." He said to me and shoved some papers on my hand.

"What is it?" I asked with a frown.

"The golden ticket for you and us to rule over the Linwood legacy." He smirked.

I groaned in frustration. He was still stuck on the same page where I strongly refused to help him.
