I also said a few things about his family and their business, it was out of the line but I can’t fathom the thought that I have to give my non-existent daughter in his family, it’s absurd and unacceptable.” Xavier tried to clarify his act once we reached home.

I was lost in thoughts. Alessandro and Aitana were dangerous people and having any kind of link with them would not be good for my family but they offered their help to find our enemies who are also very dangerous people. We underestimated them.

“Adeline? Please, say something.” He nudged me and I finally looked at him, he was desperate to hear my reaction.

“I think you should take some rest, Xavier. We’ll go to the church in the evening. I have promised Grandma and she’d feel better if you also join us.” I said avoiding to respond to his first statement.

“We’ll definitely go and I am sorry I wasn’t there with you.” He smi
