SERENA’S POV

“Oh, gosh! Do I really have to apologize for that? He was the one who was in the wrong,” I spoke to myself as I walked down the hallway. Landon just left, and Miranda advised me to apologize for what I had said to Gray a while ago.

Well, not necessarily apologize, but I had to show that we were okay despite what happened earlier. I almost forgot that I had a goal to gain his trust and make him fall in love with me. I took a deep breath and faced the door of Gray’s office, ready to knock. Is he still with Aerah’s blonde friend? I wonder if Hazel Brown was inside, too.

“Why the fuck does it matter to you? I have told you a thousand times that I want you to stay away from my business! Do your job as my secretary and leave my personal life alone!”

Gray’s loud voice from inside the room almost made me jump on where was I standing. I was sure I wasn’t the only one who heard it, as employees who were passing by his office halted, too. What the hell is happening inside?

“So yo

GRAY’S POVSerena was hurt badly. Now, whether my mother liked it or not, Hazel Brown would not have a chance to work here again. What she did was against our policy. Physical abuse toward any employees who worked here would have consequences.“I have interviewed a few applicants even before I fired Ms. Brown. I had been planning to do this for a while now so I wouldn’t have a hard time looking for her replacement once she’s gone,” I told Ms. Rowan, Serena’s loyal secretary. We were currently inside the vice president’s office, watching Serena’s bruises get treated by the medic.“I don’t understand where that woman got her hatred toward my boss. Ms. Ambers wasn’t doing anything at all…” she stated, her forehead knotted.I remained silent and only watched Serena sitting on the couch, her eyes still red due to crying. She must have felt so hurt and embarrassed. A lot of employees were looking at her while Hazel Brown attacked her. I clenched my fist in irritation. Some people were near

SERENA’S POV I still could not understand where he was coming from. Every board member had the right to have visitors anytime, for business or personal visits, as long as they could fulfill their job well even without Gray knowing. What the hell is his beef with Landon and he hated the man so much? I would never understand him. I had to lie to Gray that I could understand him just so the conversation could end. I had done my part today. I thought I did well in gaining everyone’s sympathy… especially Gray who even followed me in my office even though he knew damn well that he wasn’t needed there. We were currently in the car, and our driver sending us home. I had to go home earlier because of what happened. That was what Gray wanted, too. He seemed concerned about me, but I refused to believe every kindness he was showing Serena Ambers. He failed to do kindness for his wife then, and it was just hard to believe that he could be concerned for someone when he could not even do it bef

SERENA’S POV My heart felt like it was coming out of my ribcage. I sat on the couch in haste, my full attention now focused on my sister. Kaihly was sitting in front of me, her face serious as she looked at me. “Him? Where did you find him?” I inquired, my eyes starting to get teary. How could I not? We had been looking for witnesses that could help us for years. Kaihly was a computer geek, but even she had a hard time looking for the person who had access to the CCTV cameras at the time. It all disappeared right after the accident as if someone asked to delete them. “Yes. I finally got the records of the employees who worked in that neighborhood almost three years ago. The man said he’s willing to tell us everything as long as we would pay him great amo—” “How much does he need? Pay him millions if that’s what he wants. I need to know who wanted to kill me and my baby.” I had been waiting for this for so long. My team had a hard time looking for any evidence that seemed

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   Chapter 38: Dumbfounded

SERENA’S POV I found myself locking the door of my room right after clicking the green button, answering Gray’s call. It had not even an hour since I arrived home, yet he was bothering me again. Taking a deep breath, I placed the phone on my ear. “Yes, Mr. Moore?” I greeted, my voice low to appear weak. I had to pretend that I was the victim even if we were not face to face right now. “How are you feeling?” he asked, not even greeting me with a hi or hello. His background was filled with silence, and I could only hear his breaths and the sound of his air conditioner. Is he home already? Strange. It was still too early to go home for a CEO like him. “M-My bruises are still hurting. I have put an ointment already, though…” I faked a cough with a low voice, still appearing weak. My cuts and bruises were hurting, but I knew to myself that I was only exaggerating myself. I could hear Gray taking a deep breath from the other line, making me grin in silence. Are you worried, Gray? Or i

SERENA’S POV “Weird.” That was all I could say as I stared at my cellphone screen. What did I do wrong and he suddenly ended the call? It wasn’t like I still wanted to talk to him. It just felt like I did something that made him act that way. Gray Moore never ended the call first ever since he got my number from my secretary. Hmm… something was fishy. What the hell is wrong with that man? Is that because of my joke that was supposed to be funny? “I don’t know, Jane. Why don’t you just stop thinking about him? You have a long day tomorrow,” I talked to myself, remembering the board meeting that I set for the partnership between Landon’s company and the Moore Estates. Landon would see me tomorrow, and I wondered if Gray and he would have tension between them just like the last time. I hoped they would not. I hoped Gray would consider how weak I would be tomorrow. Weak, my ass. Another day and another pretending in front of those bastards. Psh, how I wish Geraldine Moore

SERENA’S POV I could feel Landon’s hands tightening on my waist as if my ex-husband’s presence bothered him. This was what I was preventing from happening. Gray and Landon being in the same room without my presence would result in no good. “Mr. Moore,” I called, smiling. Landon took his hands off me and faced the man who just come. Gray, on the other hand, had his eyes focused on me now, seemingly scanning every part of my body. “And what consequences did you give that woman? I have heard that your secretary isn’t the only one who abused and embarrassed Serena. Your sister and your mother were involved, too, yet they haven’t received any punishment from you,” Landon remarked, his tone low and serious. Damn. The meeting hadn’t even started yet and they were on the verge of fighting already. My body’s strength would not be able to go in between them. “Mr. Mitchell, I treat every member of the Moore Estates with equal rights… especially to their well-being. Ms. Ambers and my fami

SERENA’S POV I had to take several deep breaths to register what the fuck did Gray’s sister just said. First of all, why is she here? I thought this was supposed for board members only? “Aerah, don’t start with that,” Gray warned in a serious tone, sending Aerah dagger looks. Fuck. If this was a normal day, I would have said something to freaking defend myself. But no. My body was aching so bad and this damn bitch in front of me still dared to say something. “Is she really like that, Serena? The fuck…” Landon whispered in my ear as he made sure that I was comfortable in my seat. I let out a chuckle as I remembered what I wanted him to do to that woman. By all the information that he knew, he must have been so disgusted with her by now. Who wouldn’t? That was Aerah Celine Moore that we were talking about. No one liked her aside from herself and her freaking family. “Just pretend that you don’t hate anyone in this room, Landon. Remember that you still have to make that woman fall

SERENA’S POVGenuinely worried? What is this man on? I blinked rapidly as I looked away from him, my gaze now focusing on the front. Landon’s voice was loud and clear as he talked about the plan and the proposals, but there seemed to be a problem in my ear that I could not understand anything that I was hearing. Or rather, the words any of the people said within the room would not register in my mind. What the hell? I tried hard to not look at Gray’s direction. He was just beside me, and I had to gather all my effort to not make me look at my side. Gray Moore being vocal with what he felt honestly surprised me. He did not seem like he was acting or faking his concern, but I didn’t want to assume that his worry was goddamn artificial. “You are one of the people who served this company a greater success since you came, Ms. Ambers. I am very grateful you became a part of the Moore Estates. I couldn’t just let you go on with your life without knowing if you’re okay or not,” I heard him

She left me as if she didn’t care about what I just said.I had no reason to stay at the site anymore, so I went to where my car was and drove away. I didn’t follow them, but I had no plans of staying where my mother and sister were. Kole and Marco texted me their location just a few minutes ago, so I might as well go to their place. It was a sunny afternoon, so I knew that there wouldn’t be a party, girls, party lights, and music while I stayed with them. It was just perfect. Perfect to tell them about another encounter with my wife.I had told them about her identity already, and just like me, they were fucking shook as well. They didn’t even want to believe me at first, but I was Gray Moore, a man who didn’t like to joke around using my wife’s name so they did beli

SERENA’S POVI spent my days learning how to manage my time well and almost completely forgetting that my ex-husband learned that I was his ex-wife. I always woke up with a feeling my identity was revealed in public, but days had passed and I still lived the same life as Serena Ambers. Paperworks, office, meetings, and the investigation. I hadn’t even heard the name of Gray’s family for a while now. They were not bothering me at all.Even Gray. Surprisingly, he was not the person that I expected him to be after learning my identity. I thought he would tail me from time to time, asking questions that I would never give him the answer. He was always far away or he had a distance from me whenever we would see each other, but no matter what distance, he would always be there. I couldn’t even remember a single time that I was going out of my office and I didn’t see him. That was just too impossible now. He would be wherever I went to.I couldn’t tell him to fuck off and mind his own busin

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   127: Investigate Them

GRAY’S POVI had completely forgotten that there was an ongoing project proposed by my wife because of what was happening. I stared at how Jane’s emotions changed quickly when one of the employees stated the information about Hazel Brown. She didn’t seem to care at first, but now that she heard it, one of her brows rose.“Why are you saying that to me? You must tell that to Mr. Moore because he is the one who’s gonna be with the girl. I am out of their business…” she answered, shaking her head lightly.I did not react, but her indifference was like a knife in my chest. Now that I knew the truth, the difference she had from before was really obvious. She rarely smiled and always rolled her eyes at people. The old Jane would never do that. She would cry for being so guilty if she ever became mean.It didn’t matter. I liked both versions of her. “Mr. Moore, Ms. Ambers is gone. Do you still need something?” I didn’t know how long I stared at where Jane stood even after she left, as I o

SERENA’S POVIt wasn’t new that I would go to work with a bunch of bodyguards tailing me as if someone would attack me anytime, but the employees of the Moore Estates never got tired of gossiping about it whenever they would see me pass by.I was expecting news and articles coming out today that revealed who I truly was, but I woke up with nothing but a notification about one of my acquaintances back home celebrating her birthday today. The morning was quiet, and only the murmurs of the employees were the things that I could hear. It was almost inaudible, too, making me feel pure confusion. What the hell is happening? I thought Gray would reveal the things about me today. That was what we were expecting. Aerah and Geraldine Moore didn’t welcome me with their bullying, too. It seemed like a peaceful day for someone like me who got her life played by destiny yesterday.“Nice to see you again, beautiful woman…”I only halted spacing out when I came across one of the men who had been run

SERENA’S POVI ended up going outside and letting Kelly stay inside the house, asking her to notify security that Gray did something magical again that he was able to get in front of our house without notifying us.I took a deep breath as I followed one of our maids, unsure of what to tell him once he opened the topic of me, being his wife whom he thought died years ago.I had my face emotionless when I saw him get alarmed by my presence, immediately walking toward me as soon as he saw me get outside.“What are you doing here? Who allowed you to be here?” I asked, not giving him time to talk first. As much as I could, I did not want to talk about what happened earlier. I wasn’t even sure if I was ready to open that topic. I wasn’t sure if I could already say the right words now.“Jane…”I tried hard not to fucking react even though I could already feel that this night would be hell for me again. • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   124: Let Them Know Who You Are

SERENA’S POV“What the hell? You did not even deny anything, Landon? Huh? What the hell is going on with you? You really slapped Gray with the truth that Serena is Jane? Are you fucking kidding me?” Kelly couldn’t bring herself to calm down right after Landon told him everything that happened in the Moore Estates. We were complete in the lounge area. Caden and Kaihly were sitting next to each other, both of them stopping what they were doing. My mother was just sitting two seats away from them, silent as she drank from her wine glass. I was silent, too, while Landon was trying to calm my sister down. He wasn’t doing well. One more stupid thing that he would say and Kelly would throw things at him. We were both at fault for being so careless, but Landon, not making a story to cover the truth just ended all of us. “Enough, Kelly. There’s no use in being mad right now. We are now caught and the secret has been revealed. There is no going back now—” “It is so easy to say that but what

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   123: Fooled Twice

GRAY’S POV Hearing Serena’s conversation with Landon made me fucking freeze on the ground. What the hell is this bastard talking about? What does he mean by my sister abusing Serena when Serena was still living with us? “What the hell is going on? Is it fucking true, Serena? Jane?” I asked, trying to fucking confirm what was running in my mind. Do I even need a confirmation? It came from their mouths. I was not dumb to not think that they were talking about Jane, my ex-wife. I walked toward them without breaking eye contact with my wife. The terror in her eyes just confirmed that everything that bastard said was true. “G-Gray?” Jane called me, her voice shaking. I stared at her intently. Is she really my wife? I fucking had no idea where to start. She had been staying with us for the past months now, pretending to be a different person. Pretending to be someone far from Jane. I had my answer about who she really was, but everything wasn’t clicking yet. The pieces that I was tr

I secretly fixed my messed up clothes to not raise another issue.I turned my body to see Aerah completely, my chin up as I faked my confidence. I was a fucking slut after letting that bastard kiss me. How can I fucking do that?“What is your problem with me this time, Aerah? Long time no see. He was the one who ruined Gray and I’s marriage, according to my ex-husband.I caressed my head and rested my back on the headboard. I felt like I was close to knowing the truth. Lucia told everything she knew to Kaihly and Caden, except the part where she couldn’t tell me about my memories because I couldn’t handle anything. My doctor told us that we should let it go back naturally or I would shit myself again.I agreed.
