Penny did not know what she was feeling right now. Even when Nani barked beside her, she was somewhat out of sorts.

She just watched as the woman, dressed similarly to her, gracefully walked in.

Penny withdrew her gaze, staring at Nani as if possessed.

Nani seemed to understand instantly and dashed back into Kensington Gardens.

Penny, looking at the empty dog leash in her hand, realized after a moment. She self-mockingly wondered why she was intentionally leaving Nani there.

She did not quite understand her own mind.

It was likely that she feared that once Caleb had this woman, he would forget about the person called Penny Sullivan.

Nani had been safe and healthy in Kensington Gardens for the past few days. Caleb must have not mistreated her.

Caleb had a sharp tongue, but what mattered was his actions.

He said he would bring down S.M., but he had not taken any actual action yet.

Penny thought she had seen through him a bit, but clearly, there was still a chasm between them.
