Chapter 83

Hi, good day readers! I hope you're all doing great. I apologize for the mix-ups in the last chapter. I was unable to edit it, so I would be dropping this here today

Chapter 63.

Diana's POV.

Susan was really a good cook, no doubt. We were all gathered at the little dining table that was in the dining area.

I watched as Luke took a bite of the food that I had prepared. I didn't know if it was up to their taste, honestly. I helped Susan in preparing some of the dishes.

I was about to go to the cliff yesterday, but I got stopped by Luke. I changed my mind that moment, and immediately he left the way for me to go to the cliff.

He knew that I didn't know anything about this place, and what if my killers were still planning to kill me?

"How does it taste?" I looked at Luke just to get a response from him.

If I really want to leave this place, I would have to be friendly with them and gain their trust. That is going to take a lot of time, but what matters is my leaving this place.

"It tastes normal." He stated it bluntly as he kept on eating the food.

"Do you live here?" I questioned him, wanting to start a conversation with him.

"No! Why are you asking?" He asked while I took a bite of my goof before I replied to him.

"I just want to know if you are going to be here every day." I shrugged my arms. Why did he look so mad at me for asking him questions?

"So you can escape?" He stated this, making me chuckle slightly.

"If I had wanted to leave, I would have done that yesterday." I rolled my eyes while I kept on digging into the food.

"You also know that if you refuse to let me go, that is known as kidnapping." I smiled softly, and he banged his cutlery on the dining table. Her bad anger issues needed to be taken care of.

"I lose my appetite." He stood up from the dining chair, moving it backwards with his legs, and then walked out of us, leaving his food on the table.

"He gets angry quickly." His mother interrupted my thoughts as I watched him walk away.

"I could see that already. I wondered how You get to cope with him." I clicked my tongue, and then I stood up from the chair that I was sitting on.

I followed him out of the building. I didn't see him in sight. Where could he have gotten a gown that quick?

I looked forward and then saw him walking away. This would be an opportunity for me to get to know more about this place.

I ran so fast that I kept on with him at my front. "Where do you think you are going? Why are you following me?" He fired immediately when he saw me by his side.

I was still feeling suffocated while I tried to catch my breath from the little run that I did.

"You didn't have to be that cold." I rolled my eyes at him, and he continued walking while I followed him slowly.

I wondered what was so important to him, and the only way that he could get it was to take revenge on me.

"The reason why I asked you about leaving this place was because anything could happen to your mother and me, and there is no one that would be able to protect us." I lied.

"You don't expect me to believe that bullshit."

"Wait! Who broke you to this extent? Why are we like this? The person must have done a lot of damage."

He chuckled slightly.

"No one made me like this. You shouldn't trust human beings that easily; they could turn their back on you at the last second." He mentioned.

"Yeah exactly. You shouldn't get to trust me since you don't know what I could do to you at the last minute." He smiled genuinely. That was the first time that I would see.He has been smiling that way ever since he came back home yesterday.

"I bet that you don't trust me either." He stated.

"You don't trust me; why do you expect me to do the same to you? You kept me in your house, not even helping me to find who I am. Do you really expect me to trust you?"

"Who told you that I was not going to find out who you really are?" He stopped walking while he looked back into my eyes.

"Why can't you do it now? What is stopping you from doing that?" I stopped walking while I also faced him.

"I am waiting for the right time for me to be able to do that. You killer might still be out there." He brought up an excuse, saying that just as usual, they would keep on using that excuse again and again.

Was that the same reason he wanted me to lose all my memory? I didn't bring up the matter.

"At this rate, one might think that you know my real identity. What if I tried to commit suicide while I was still alive? You can't base everything on those shows trying to murder me." I had to counter his point.

"Let's change the topic." He turned back and kept on walking.

I followed him at his back and watched how peaceful the countryside was. Would the city be quiet just like this? I wish I could remember my memory.

Even if I went to the city and didn't get to remember my memory, how would I be able to find my way back home?

"I love morning walks." I took in a deep breath as the cool breeze hit me from every side.

"Who doesn't?" Luke inquired.

"I'm pretty sure if the sun is shining and hot very early in the morning, I am definitely not going to like it." I answered him.

Now, we are having a normal conversation.

"The doctor will come and check up on you in the next few days." He stated.

"Do you think he would be able to help me regain my memories?" I questioned him with a soft smile on my face.

I don't think the doctor would be able to check up on me today since I would be following Luke in his trunk back to the city this evening.

"He would just check up on you. That would be left for the doctor to decide." He mentioned making me sigh. If they knew the doctor was going to help me regain my memories, they would never bring him to me after spiking my drink with memory-eraser medicine.

*******

It was in the evening already, and I already planned how I was going to escape. I just blasted ginger into the truck before he got to figure it out.

"When is your son going to leave?" I questioned Susan as I helped her in the kitchen.

I was helping her cut the vegetables.

"He will be leaving in the next few minutes. He will not be able to eat dinner since he has a lot of things to attend to in the city." She mentioned it to me, making me nod my head in approval.

After a few minutes of waiting, I was done with cutting the vegetables, and I told her that I was really fast with it.

This would be a chance for me to see what the city looked like. I might perhaps find my real identity.
