"What is he doing here?" Kitty asked herself as she stood there staring at Carlos. The way he entered the mansion without knocking, and the way he placed his hand in his side pockets and raised his head high, Kitty pleaded to God in her heart that Carlos shouldn't be thinking about taking what was hers.
Before she opened her lips to ask him what he was there for, Jason beat her to it. From Carlos's response, Kitty knew she had gambled away her part of the inheritance, and Carlos had won a lottery.
"Why didn't I listen to Harry?" She savaged her lower lip with her teeth. Her heart was thumping fast as she held on to her dress, wondering what Jason would do to her. Even though it was to make Jason suffer, Kitty couldn't help but felt nervous.
She kept wobbling her head and moaning silently, almost biting her tongue. How could she not have listened, but no, just to hurt Jason? She trusted her enemy. She never ex
There wasn't a word Jason could use to fathom the way he was feeling. He never knew Kitty amongst everyone close to him would do this to him. As he stood there looking at Carlos, all he wanted to do was to keep punching him. But knowing Carlos he knew causing any harm to him without planning it out carefully, might lead to other problems he wasn't ready for. He took a glance at Kitty and saw how she clenched her dress hard. Her knees were quivering. Even though he hated her for what she did, he felt like hugging her. And it pisses him off. "Now that I own this property, I will set my own rules," Carlos said to Jason smiling. "I doubt that it's written in the list of Kitty's entitlement that she owns this building." Jason raised his brows knowing fully well that his father couldn't have given Kitty the house. He cursed himself in his heart for not going through the list of properti
"Here we are, Boss," Pedro said to Jason looking out the window. "Here we are." He said again when he didn't get a response. Pedro turned back around to see what had happened to Jason, but to his surprise, Jason was busy sleeping. He scoffed and stretched his hands towards Jason, but he clenched his fist when he recalled that Jason hasn't had any nap time for a while. "It was almost dawn and yet, they were awake. Pedro knew that if he didn't wake him up, then they might lose Lucia and that would make Jason angry with him. "Capo, Capo." He called out to him as he gently tapped him. "I'm awake Pedro." Jason sighed and bent his head, placing it in between his knees. He was tired. But meeting with Lucia, was of great importance. He opened the car's door and stepped out. After slamming the door, he dragged his pants up and tightened his belt, then he loosen his bow tie and took gradual steps inside
Jason entered the car and smiled at Lucia. "Let's get you a dress. Every bride should wear one." Lucia smiled at him. She doubted in her heart if Jason wasn't pulling a trick on her. She then took out her phone and texted her right-hand man-Philip. "On my way to the high court to get married to Mr. Dante. Please bring a judge and an original marriage certificate. I don't trust him." Lucia placed her phone aside and leaned her head on Jason's shoulder. Jason sighed and just then his phone beeped. He slides it open and it was a message from Luca. "Madam Kitty has signed the divorce. I'm sending Miguel over with it and coming with the judge myself." Jason felt uneasy with the news. He finally divorced Kitty. It felt a sharp pain in his heart. Tears rolled down his cheeks. He savaged his lower lips as he recalled all their sweet moments and plans they had. He never thought div
He felt as though his stomach was about to summersault. He was smiling staring into her eyes, he have gained everything he always wanted-the Alfredo's Casino and all their properties, and of course their big fat bank accounts. But despite acquiring all that, he felt uneasy and that was because he got married to Lucia. He sighed and faked a smile, and a thought came to his mind"Lucia, I'm sorry I used you, everything you own belongs to Dante."He then wrapped his hand around her waistline, then lead her out of the court. He opened the car door for her and she stepped in. As he turned around walking towards the second door of the car, Miguel approached him"Capo, we are heading to the bank. Myself and Luca." Jason stopped and looked at him."You can go alone. It's an original marriage certificate, plus make sure to meet with the manager, he is with Dante." "She is going to receive a call. Those banks people ai
It has been quite a long night. Kitty lay on her bed, looking out the window. It was as if the sun was refusing to rise. She kept turning from left to right, but she couldn't sleep. Suddenly she heard a knock on her door. She sighed and stepped down from the bed. She opened the door to find out it was Miguel."Miguel." She muttered. "I'm sorry for bothering you, madam Kitty. I need your signature." He said to her as he opened a document up. Her eyes drifted to the papers in his hand; it was the divorce papers. Kitty took a deep breath. Tears gathered in her eyes. She looked at him and smiled"Do you have a pen?" "Yes, madam." Miguel dipped his hand in his pocket and brought out a pen. He stretched it to her. "Thank you." She signed the papers."Goodnight." She slammed the door and ran to the bed. She jerked on it, covering her face with the pillow. She kept sobbing until dawn. ... Several days passed,
She swerved out of the dining, climbing up the stairs as fast as she could. She couldn't believe he would say such a thing about a woman he was once married to."He deserves whatever I will do to him." She kept muttering. As she approached her room, she met Madamme Rosa standing by the door. Kitty stopped. She fixed his gaze at Madamme Rosa-"Oh, not now." She rolled her and sighed, after a while, she walked slowly towards her room with her gaze fixed on Madamme Rosa. "He ditched you. I wonder what you were expecting when you have a snake for a father."Madamme Rosa walked to her "There was never a time I liked you."Madamme Rosa touched her hair with a wicked smile on her face. "Fix this, you have no idea of what I will do to you. Believe me, you won't even be able to imagine it." Kitty scoffed and tossed her hands away from her hair. "You have no idea of what I will do to you. I'm watching you, I'm with you closer than you think. Be afraid,
There were only a few moments in his life that he was happy the most. One was the day he proposed to Kitty and other beautiful memories they shared. But as he stood on the top floor of his Casino. A view better than any other, from while he stood in his office; he could see Alfredo's Casino building a few meters away.Jason poured wine into one of the empty glasses on his desk and picked it up as he gently swung it around. He finally owned it-the Alfredo's Casino; it was finally his. He slowly parted his lips and placed his glass in between. He sipped with his eyes closed. His happiness was an additional flavor to the wine."This is what success smells like." He smiled. Luca walked into his office and greeted."Capo." "Well done, Luca. How about the properties?" "Everything is done, sir. Except for their illegal wealth. Taking it will be quite a hassle." "I'm not interested." Jason smiled. "I just wanted everyt
"Take it to doctor Kate; I think it will be less stressful as she has my DNA sample in her lab, the one I used before when searching for my parents." Jason stood on his feet and placed his phone in his pocket. "Okay, sir." Pedro walked out. It was getting late. The cloud was filled with moist air. It was time to head home. He wasn't feeling like it, he was no longer upset, but then he knew kitty's heart must be frozen towards him; if that wasn't the case, why else would she have been able to give his inheritance away and want a divorce. Jason sighed and sat back on his chair. He closed his eyes, and immediately, he recalled what he did to Kitty. He regretted being so harsh on her. He knew it would take him forever, to try to get her back. Yes, he suddenly wanted her back; after getting Alfredo's properties, he was overjoyed. Drinking alone in his office wasn't what he wanted; he wanted to celebrate, not with Luca or Pedro, but with Kitty. He wante

"Kitty said you surprised her with Mira's arrival, so she wanted to do the same to you, " Aunt Silvia said to Jason. "Well, it is indeed a wonderful surprise and fit for the occasion." Jason smiled. "What occasion?" Kitty asked wondering what Jason meant. Her gaze drifted from Jason to Mira thinking that they were up to mischief, but to her surprise, Mira had no idea of what Jason was talking about. "Why don't we have dinner together, as a family, I will get grandma." Jason walked out straight to Madamme Rosa's room. When he got there he meant the caregiver combing her hair, Jason sent Charity away and took the comb from her. "I know a lot has happened, and it's too bad we got here. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me, I'm finding it hard to forgive you, every day I pray, hoping that one day I will awake and hold no grudge against you, but those prayers haven't been answered."
It's been a month since Lucia's death. Jason buried her right next to his parents. Every day he would visit and place a flower on her grave and that of her parents as well. Most times Kitty followed him, but sometimes he felt like going alone and never pestered her. He was bemoaning, he never left the house except to the grave. He would lock himself up in his study every night and inundate himself in bottles of whiskey, in the morning he always had a hangover but lied to Kitty that he was sick. Luca kept on rescheduling his meeting with the board members at the Alfredo's but Jason missed every one of them.He was shattered, yet he pretended to be okay. ... The night wind was extremely cold that evening, Jason had just finished having dinner with his family. Like his normal routine for a month now, he went from the dining and locked himself up in his study. He opened the fridge in his study and found only one bottle of whiskey le
From the look in his eyes, she realized that he must be dying of regret. She couldn't stop him from leaving. She waited for him to come back but he was taking forever. She was pacing around in the living room anxiously, she prayed for Lucia to be unharmed. When it was late, she tried to call him. But then Luca answered his phone.Kitty asked him about Jason and he told her what had happened. Words left her lips, she didn't know what else to say. She knew that he definitely would not easily recover from such loss. After the call, she waited around in the living room, waiting for him to come.It was already past 9 pm and yet he was still out. She was dizzy but yet couldn't sleep. Her heart was unsettled. She thought to check on Mira to make sure she was alright. As soon as she walked inside Mira's room she switched on the lights."Kitty is that you?" Mira sat on her bed."Hey, don't do that laydown." Kitty rushed to the
Jason walked out of the room down to his study. He emptied a bottle of whiskey. Then it crossed his mind that his grandmother was still locked up. He rushed to his room to get the keys from the pants he wore earlier. When he entered the room, it was stuffy. He found his grandmother all dressed up with makeup on. He wondered why she had worn makeup. Jason scoffed as he walked closer to her."Why would an old wan wear makeup?" He mocked her.Madamme Rosa ignored him as though he wanted there. She was placing her earrings on her ears, when she was done she looked at Jason who was standing by her mirror."How do I look?" She asked Jason."Ugly." He scoffed at her. "No makeup will be good enough to cover your wicked heart. Kitty an unborn baby, and your son, and you think that by wearing makeup you would be able to hide that darkness inside of you?" Jason walked closer to her."Maybe not. If I were as wicked as you say, why didn't I
Jason couldn't believe what was happening, he kept screaming and wanted to go into the fire. But he was held back by the police there. He fell to his knees wailing bitterly. All that was in his head was Lucia's voice promising him that she was going to be at the mansion that morning. He wished he had realized she wouldn't be coming, he wished he didn't allow her to leave him at the hotel.Regrets were all that engulfed him. He wanted to turn back the hands of time, for one last chance to treat her better. But it was impossible, and that made him even more depressed. He kept beating his chest severally. On his knees, he remained there, with his head bent on the ground. The police were shocked at the sight, even the bodyguards that escaped the fire as well as the employees, no one knew that Jason was Lucia's brother. With the hope to figure out why he was affected, one of the police officers decided to approach Jason. But Jason pushed him to the
"You still have the guts to tell at me, better start respecting yourself or your favorite daughter will go boom" Lucia pressed on the lighter to lite and placed it close to Camilla's hair."Now behave, you have to be a good boy Daddy." Lucia laughed.I Alfredo was glaring at her, wishing he could just slap her and kill her himself."After everything I did for you, you have the guts to pour gasoline on my daughter. You are an animal." He yelled at her."After everything you've done for me?" Lucia raised her brows in shock, and paddled slowly towards him "What exactly did you do for me, Alfredo?" She yelled at him."Was it the constant hitting? or being yelled at? What exactly have you done for me? Because I remember nothing, absolutely nothing, that's how horrific my childhood was because of you." She slapped Mr. Alfredo."What did you expect from me, a fatherly love, when you were a child I never fathered, and from a monster of a family, you don
BEFORE THE FIRE AT THE ALFREDO'S MANSION 16 HOURS AGO Lucia wasn't certain how she would escape, but all she wanted was for Kitty and Jason to be able to leave the hotel without any harm. After finding out Jason was indeed her brother, she was frustrated but then, she felt somewhat lucky. Since staying at the hotel, Lucia was busy going through every photo she has of Jason, she found it interesting that he was indeed her brother. She wished she knew earlier, and despite the feud between their families, she and Jason never really had any personal fights until Kitty came along. ... At the hotel, after Kitty killed Carlos, Lucia took it upon herself to distract her father's men so Kitty and Jason could flee. When she got to the lobby, she was surrounded by fifty of her father's men. She surrendered and so did Philip. They apprehended her and handcuffed her in one of the vans they came with, both her and Philip. "Take her to th
When he walked inside the ICU, he saw that Mira was already awake. It had been such a long day. He had dark circles around his eyes. "You are awake." Jason walked up to Mira. "Yes, I am. Kitty is so worried, why did you leave her here alone?" Mira questioned Jason. "I went out for work. I couldn't delay it." He sat close to Kitty and whispered in her ears"Why make her worried about you?" "Shut up," Kitty whispered back. They joked and laughed. Jason ordered breakfast as it was already past 6 am. After eating, Kitty told Jason that it will be best they take Mira home and a doctor to tend to her. Jason understood pretty well, that Kitty still felt threatened by Alfredo and didn't know when they see will attack. Jason hired a doctor from the same hospital Mira was receiving treatment from. They discharge Mira and they all went back home. She was laid on the bed and the equipment needed for her treatment like the oxygen just in c
