As the morning light shone through the window, it flickered in her eyes, she kept flinching I'm accordance, and soon blocked the rays with her hand, slowly opening her eyes as she wondered 'how come the window was left opened'
She helped herself up with her hand, and sat on her butt on the bed, looking by her side to an empty space, the memory of last night clouded her mind.
She scoffed and raised a brow, then she lazily got off the bed and head towards the bathroom. It wasn't the kind of first night she had planned, when she thought of Vegas the first time he said it, she thought it would be even better than what they shared in Cambonian, but not at all, it was as though she left paradise and now she is in some kind of cage, that had piercing nails, dipping into her skin and hurting her all over and she couldn't even get a break even though she desired it.
She let the water washed her skin, as she gently scr
She thought to dial Jason's number but her hands were shaking and her brain-telling her it was a bad idea. She placed her phone on the table, drinking the snail soup, it tastes nice and somehow subdued the pain in her heart, before she could even think of relaxing, she heard the crackling sound of the door opening, she instantly fixed her eyes on the door, she narrowed it further, seeing the way the person paused as if he was trying to sneak in. Her lips were slightly opened as she breathed quietly but heaving through her mouth, she was panicking, thinking that it might be the unknown ID, but she gulp her saliva, still breathing heavily, focused on the door, as she tried to sweep fear off her heart, she picked the glass of water on the table and drank from it. With her gaze still on the door, she saw the fancy shoes underneath the door, it looked like size forty five, exactly same size he
Kitty fell on the chair, her hand placed on her chest, she was frightened, and started grasping for air, how could he say that of his daughter, how could he wasn't his child to divorce, shouldn't he be happy with her relationship, but instead he was being selfish like he always have been. She sat on the couch and continued eating, every chunk of bread was harder to chew, she couldn't stop thinking about Mira and her aunt "Should I do exactly as he says. 'No, talk to Jason first' I will talk to him first" A voice said in her head and she nodded I'm response. After she was done it was about thirty minutes past the three hours she told Sarah to come back for the dirty dishes. "Are you done ma" Sarah said immediately she walked in, smiling pretentiously at Kitty. ",Yes I am, you didn't keep to time?" Kitty asked wondering if she had come earlier but overhead Carlos.
It wasn't even dawn, but Jason couldn't bare to waste any minute, he got up as soon as his eyes were opened, and had his bath. and didn't even waited for breakfast. He head out straight to the casino making sure that he avoided Kitty. Somehow he had always knew that coming to Vegas would harm his relationship with Kitty, and he wasn't wrong about that, they just got in and it has all been drama. His fight with Kitty were even the least, he couldn't help but kept thinking about his grandma accepting the Alfredo's dinner, and Lucia's talk about engagement, he knew his grandma definitely would accept the proposal. He couldn't get married to Lucia, it wasn't just because of his marriage to Kitty, he was scared, he knew that the Alfredo's wouldn't just stop a lifetime feud over a marriage, it felt fishy to him, he knew very well that this certainly must be another way Mr Alfredo want to nail him down. He sighed as he le
"Is that the right thing to do? Sir I know you love her a lot, will you be able to do that?" Pedro asked Jason with pleading eyes, but he focused on his drinks. "What other measures would I take, Patricia got what she deserved, Kitty will too, she ain't more special than Patricia." He placed his glass on his desk. "Of course kitty is more special than Patricia, you never loved Patricia, you just wanted to use her, and she was using you too. Kitty is different because you love her, our feelings is what makes the people in our lives special." Pedro walked up to him and looked at him dearly "For your sake, I hope she isn't what we are thinking of her." "I hope so too Pedro, I hope do too." He licked his lips and picked up a file on the table. "Carlos, what should I do to you now, hmmmm" He grunted. "Get the human resource manager here." He commanded "Okay sir." Pedr
"You will regret this, I promise you." Carlos swerved out of Jason's office. Immediately Pedro and Luca walked in, they saw Carlos and knew Jason must have done something again. Jason was laughing so loud, he could no longer held his excitement, he walked to the glass wall, and placed his hand in the glass, laughing so loud, from whilst he stood, he could see right outside the company, he saw as Carlos outside, kicking his car and hitting the guards outside, Jason just kept laughing and almost choked. "Here sir" Pedro quickly gave him a glass of water, from the way Jason had been laughing he just knew the demotion have be enforced. "Did you see his face, he looked like a chicken." Jason laughed out loud again but soon started coughing "I think you should stop laughing now Capo." Pedro started panting his back. "Good morning Capo" Luca greeted. On seeing Luca, Ja
"We are here sir" Pedro's voice erupts Jason from his reverie. He was so deep in his reverie, disturbed by what Luca had said to him. He hated to admit it, but Luca might be right, he might just have to accept Lucia's engagement, and he hated it. He needed to be in the dinner to know what plans Mr Alfredo has, and discover his intention at least. "Sir, we are home." Pedro said again Turing his head ninety degree to look at Jason who was rubbing his temples. Jason heard Pedro, but was too tired to respond, so he raised his head and looked at Pedro, then he smiled and got down from the car. One glance at his home, he felt like going back to work, or far away from the people inside. There were his wife, his everly taunting grandmother, and her enemy if a husband, who would want to go home? He scoffed and took a step forward, immediately he unlatched the door and walked inside the living room, his eyes drifted towards
He was surprised by Mira's words, he quickly, sat on the bed paying attention to what she had to say. "What is it you want to say Mira, I hope you are okay?" He asked, he hoped her confession was about Carlos, and his relationship with Kitty. "Well, I was wondering if you can let me live with you? I had Kitty promise me she would come for me when she is settled in, but she isn't saying anything at all, and even on phone yesterday she hung up. Is she fine?" Mira asked worried, it wasn't what she called to confessed about, she was finding it difficult to confess to Jason about Carlos, she didn't want it to affect kitty in anyway, and she wondered if she could get more information before telling Jason about Carlos relationship with them. "She is fine, I'm guessing she is a bit overwhelmed with moving in to Vegas, it was sooner than we planned, she is just busy trying to blend in." He responded to her disappointed that she didn
"No Jason, she can't tag along" Madamme Rosa was against it. But Jason ignored her, not because he wanted kitty to tag along, but he somehow, even through the denial missed her, needed her, and for him to reject the engagement he needed her there at the dinner. Jason walked to the car, after Miguel opened the door he waited for kitty to walk to him, she was walking rather slow as if she couldn't walk on the heels she was wearing, but then, he had seen her walk longer on heels before, so he just thought, she was of course taking her time. He didn't look at her, he wanted to but he was more concerned of the differences between them. As she walked up to the other side of the car,his gaze slowly travelled and set on her, instantly she stole a glance at him as well and immediately looked away. "Why did she really come with us?" Jason wondered "Is this Carlos's intention?" He kept wondering and
Dear readers, Thank you so much for going on this journey with me. During the process of writing this book, I fell in love with the characters Jason and Kitty. It breaks my heart to end their story, but every story surely has an ending. I wish I can see just how well they live their life, but we can only just imagine and that's the fun of it. Please as you read do vote and leave your comment. I will love to know which characters are your favorite. This story is the first draft and will surely be revised and edited. Thank you once again.
"Kitty said you surprised her with Mira's arrival, so she wanted to do the same to you, " Aunt Silvia said to Jason. "Well, it is indeed a wonderful surprise and fit for the occasion." Jason smiled. "What occasion?" Kitty asked wondering what Jason meant. Her gaze drifted from Jason to Mira thinking that they were up to mischief, but to her surprise, Mira had no idea of what Jason was talking about. "Why don't we have dinner together, as a family, I will get grandma." Jason walked out straight to Madamme Rosa's room. When he got there he meant the caregiver combing her hair, Jason sent Charity away and took the comb from her. "I know a lot has happened, and it's too bad we got here. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me, I'm finding it hard to forgive you, every day I pray, hoping that one day I will awake and hold no grudge against you, but those prayers haven't been answered."
It's been a month since Lucia's death. Jason buried her right next to his parents. Every day he would visit and place a flower on her grave and that of her parents as well. Most times Kitty followed him, but sometimes he felt like going alone and never pestered her. He was bemoaning, he never left the house except to the grave. He would lock himself up in his study every night and inundate himself in bottles of whiskey, in the morning he always had a hangover but lied to Kitty that he was sick. Luca kept on rescheduling his meeting with the board members at the Alfredo's but Jason missed every one of them.He was shattered, yet he pretended to be okay. ... The night wind was extremely cold that evening, Jason had just finished having dinner with his family. Like his normal routine for a month now, he went from the dining and locked himself up in his study. He opened the fridge in his study and found only one bottle of whiskey le
From the look in his eyes, she realized that he must be dying of regret. She couldn't stop him from leaving. She waited for him to come back but he was taking forever. She was pacing around in the living room anxiously, she prayed for Lucia to be unharmed. When it was late, she tried to call him. But then Luca answered his phone.Kitty asked him about Jason and he told her what had happened. Words left her lips, she didn't know what else to say. She knew that he definitely would not easily recover from such loss. After the call, she waited around in the living room, waiting for him to come.It was already past 9 pm and yet he was still out. She was dizzy but yet couldn't sleep. Her heart was unsettled. She thought to check on Mira to make sure she was alright. As soon as she walked inside Mira's room she switched on the lights."Kitty is that you?" Mira sat on her bed."Hey, don't do that laydown." Kitty rushed to the
Jason walked out of the room down to his study. He emptied a bottle of whiskey. Then it crossed his mind that his grandmother was still locked up. He rushed to his room to get the keys from the pants he wore earlier. When he entered the room, it was stuffy. He found his grandmother all dressed up with makeup on. He wondered why she had worn makeup. Jason scoffed as he walked closer to her."Why would an old wan wear makeup?" He mocked her.Madamme Rosa ignored him as though he wanted there. She was placing her earrings on her ears, when she was done she looked at Jason who was standing by her mirror."How do I look?" She asked Jason."Ugly." He scoffed at her. "No makeup will be good enough to cover your wicked heart. Kitty an unborn baby, and your son, and you think that by wearing makeup you would be able to hide that darkness inside of you?" Jason walked closer to her."Maybe not. If I were as wicked as you say, why didn't I
Jason couldn't believe what was happening, he kept screaming and wanted to go into the fire. But he was held back by the police there. He fell to his knees wailing bitterly. All that was in his head was Lucia's voice promising him that she was going to be at the mansion that morning. He wished he had realized she wouldn't be coming, he wished he didn't allow her to leave him at the hotel.Regrets were all that engulfed him. He wanted to turn back the hands of time, for one last chance to treat her better. But it was impossible, and that made him even more depressed. He kept beating his chest severally. On his knees, he remained there, with his head bent on the ground. The police were shocked at the sight, even the bodyguards that escaped the fire as well as the employees, no one knew that Jason was Lucia's brother. With the hope to figure out why he was affected, one of the police officers decided to approach Jason. But Jason pushed him to the
"You still have the guts to tell at me, better start respecting yourself or your favorite daughter will go boom" Lucia pressed on the lighter to lite and placed it close to Camilla's hair."Now behave, you have to be a good boy Daddy." Lucia laughed.I Alfredo was glaring at her, wishing he could just slap her and kill her himself."After everything I did for you, you have the guts to pour gasoline on my daughter. You are an animal." He yelled at her."After everything you've done for me?" Lucia raised her brows in shock, and paddled slowly towards him "What exactly did you do for me, Alfredo?" She yelled at him."Was it the constant hitting? or being yelled at? What exactly have you done for me? Because I remember nothing, absolutely nothing, that's how horrific my childhood was because of you." She slapped Mr. Alfredo."What did you expect from me, a fatherly love, when you were a child I never fathered, and from a monster of a family, you don
BEFORE THE FIRE AT THE ALFREDO'S MANSION 16 HOURS AGO Lucia wasn't certain how she would escape, but all she wanted was for Kitty and Jason to be able to leave the hotel without any harm. After finding out Jason was indeed her brother, she was frustrated but then, she felt somewhat lucky. Since staying at the hotel, Lucia was busy going through every photo she has of Jason, she found it interesting that he was indeed her brother. She wished she knew earlier, and despite the feud between their families, she and Jason never really had any personal fights until Kitty came along. ... At the hotel, after Kitty killed Carlos, Lucia took it upon herself to distract her father's men so Kitty and Jason could flee. When she got to the lobby, she was surrounded by fifty of her father's men. She surrendered and so did Philip. They apprehended her and handcuffed her in one of the vans they came with, both her and Philip. "Take her to th
When he walked inside the ICU, he saw that Mira was already awake. It had been such a long day. He had dark circles around his eyes. "You are awake." Jason walked up to Mira. "Yes, I am. Kitty is so worried, why did you leave her here alone?" Mira questioned Jason. "I went out for work. I couldn't delay it." He sat close to Kitty and whispered in her ears"Why make her worried about you?" "Shut up," Kitty whispered back. They joked and laughed. Jason ordered breakfast as it was already past 6 am. After eating, Kitty told Jason that it will be best they take Mira home and a doctor to tend to her. Jason understood pretty well, that Kitty still felt threatened by Alfredo and didn't know when they see will attack. Jason hired a doctor from the same hospital Mira was receiving treatment from. They discharge Mira and they all went back home. She was laid on the bed and the equipment needed for her treatment like the oxygen just in c
