Cedric’s POV
I was pretty sick of losing Zelda at this point.
I watched helplessly as the stupid fucking Griffon carried her away from us. Where the hell was he taking her?!
Posy was falling quickly to the ground. I should save her. It would get back to Zelda that I did and maybe that will make her like me a little more.
I was more than aware of her feelings for me now. Leading up to that kiss in the cave I was sure she had no more feelings for me. I thought I had really screwed up, but now I knew there was still a chance for me. She would still be my Queen, I was sure of it.
I positioned myself and opened my arms. Posy fell into them. I nearly collapsed. Who knew fairies were so fucking heavy?
She sprang out of my arms. “Why did you do that?”
“Do what?” I questioned.
“Save me?”
“So Zelda will like me more.”
“Damn it, I should have
Zelda’s POVI was starting to feel like a damsel in distress! How was I always getting kidnapped and needing to be saved? It’s actually kind of exhausting. Especially when I was brought up to believe women were the most powerful people in the world. If that’s the case, then why the fuck was I always needing rescuing? Why couldn't one of the boy get kidnapped instead? The Griffon finally set me down in what I believed was his nest. He was quite gentle. He closed his wings and looked curiously at me. His head tilted to the side.“Hi.” I forced a smile. His head tilted to the othe rside. “Um squel esh wullop Zelda.”I hoped he realized that I said my name was Zelda. My Yanesh was extremely rusty.“Squap rius Nerius.” He squawked.“Nerius. Cool, great name. Now is there a reason you brought me here? Not that I’m not grateful for the flight, it’s just I&rsq
The others didn’t seem as thrilled with flying as I did. They all looked terrified, but I knew I was safe with Nerius. Maybe a little too safe with him.I felt bad that he wanted me to stay when I couldn’t. I figured he must be extremely lonely if he wanted me to stick around just after one conversation. The Griffon’s lived in treehouses. They were of course incredibly large because of how big the Griffons were. Szan was accompanying us to dinner to be our translator. The Griffons did not look especially thrilled to see us. I imagine they don’t like people coming to their land and participating in these trials. I’m sure it was a disruption to their lives.According to Szan, Nerius insisted that I sit next to him.“So what do they even eat?” Cedric questioned.“Since you are guests, they have a very special meal prepared. There are seven courses and you must eat all of it to be prope
A second later I stopped worrying about my state of mind. This was amazing! I was going to be happy for thirteen hours straight. Nothing could ruin my good mood.“This is the best news ever!” I laughed. “I’m so happy and thrilled and I love you all so much.”“I love you.” Penn said passionately. “More than anything in this world.”“Oh Penn.” I grabbed his face and kissed him. Kissing him felt like a total dream. Almost unreal.“Wait, I love you too, Zelda!” Hunter whined “Kiss me too!”“Of course darling.” I kissed Hunter.“Oz, I think I’ll die without you.” Zeke said dreamily. “I love you so much.”“I love you back.” Oz laughed. “I want to marry you.”“Ooh, marriage sounds fun!” Posy gasped. “I’ve always wanted to get married.&rdquo
“Who the hell did you marry?” Zeke asked.“I have no clue! Maybe both of them?”“So you all celebrated the honeymoon together then?” Posy laughed almost hysterically.“What’s going on with you Posy?” I questioned.“Oh nothing, I just woke up in bed with Wyatt and we had no clothes on!”“Good job Wyatt.” Cedric chuckled.“I cheated on Kurt with an Aleni, he’ll just die if he finds out!” She wailed.“Come on, it wasn’t your fault.” I said quickly. “I mean that wine changed us completely! You think I wo
Posy was inconsolable.“No! I can’t be married! I don’t even know Wyatt that well and he’s an Aleni!”“Posy-”“Zelda, what am I supposed to do? How do I face Kurt ever again?”“Just get it annulled.” Zeke suggested.“Well, if they consummated the marriage, an annulment will not be possible.” Szan informed us.“Oh Veone, take me now!” Posy wailed. “We consummated so many times!”“Yeah, we did.” Wyatt smiled.“What about divorce? Can they get a divorce?” Penn questioned.“Not unless one of them does something heinous to each other.” Szan said.“Heinous?” Cedric asked. “What would be considered heinous?”“I’d say biting someone is pretty heinous.” I stated.“Oh you’re just never going to get over that, are yo
We continued listening to Wyatt’s story.“So yeah, my mom hates me. I met this guy who offered to bite me and help him take over the world...I definitely agreed to it. I mean I definitely wasn’t going to get a better offer than that. How sad, right?” The Griffons were almost howling in laughter. “Oh don’t worry it gets better. I met the girl of my dreams and she said she wanted to marry me. Well this morning she decided she should have her head cut off instead of being with me. Great confidence booster right?”The Griffons were seriously enjoying this.“So can we get the talon now?” I whispered to Szan.“You all have to make them laugh.” He responded. “Now you know how to.”“Alright, you heard him, get your most depressing stories together!”Zeke went first. “So I’m a Duke right? Privileged as they come. Well you know how i
Moxdea appeared to us the moment we exited the Harpcola Wilds.“Congratulations on getting the Griffon’s talons.”“Thank you, Moxdea.” I smiled. “You were very correct, the journey there was absolutely horrible and I don’t wish to do that again.”“Beware, Empress Zelda, for it doesn’t get easier from here.” Moxdea warned me.“How could it possibly get any harder?” Cedric questioned.“Don’t ask that!” I hissed. “Now it’s gonna get ten times harder.”“Just kill me now.”“Can I?” Hunter questioned.“Any tips on this journey Moxdea?” I asked. Her smoky head bobbed up and down. “This journey will be a stormy one. You will be in your one true form, you will confront the ghosts of your past, you must keep your head above water and re
I gently pushed the wolf off of me. “What do you mean you can’t?”“I’ve tried! We all have!”“Zeke you can’t shift back either?” I asked.“Not at all.” He whined before scratching behind his ear. “You look different by the way.”“Yeah, so I’m told.” I muttered. “Cedric, can you shift back?”“Don’t you think I would have if I could.” His voice was much deeper and rough in monster form.“There’s no reason to be rude.” I snapped.“So, what do we do?” Posy questioned.“This must be our first obstacle.”“We couldn't even have a night to relax?” The Hunter’s white wolf groaned. “I can’t even mourn the loss of my relationship.”“Another time, lover boy!” Zeke barked. “We need to get ba
