Tyler slammed the conference room door behind him, sending reverberations through the office's quiet hallways.

His chest heaved as he leaned against the wall, placing his hands against his temples.

The meeting with Smith Corporation had been disastrous.

Every word exchanged seemed like another brick crumbling from the flimsy wall that held his firm together.

The Hartwell family. The Hartwells were circling like vultures, and Tyler's stomach churned at Smith Corp.'s shaky commitment to their alliance.

He could feel the weight of each decision on his shoulders. If they lost the Smith deal, it would cause a domino effect, and he wasn't sure RindCorp would survive.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, so he took it out, expecting a message from Ben.

Instead, there was an email with a synopsis of their present financial situation. Tyler opened it, but the figures blurred together, leaving him unable to focus. He exhaled sharply, his throat tightening as frustration clawed at him.

The doctor was finally approaching. The quick brief glance I took at my wristwatch made me realize I'd been waiting for about an hour. My head was a mess, racing faster than a cheetah chasing its prey. Oh God, calm down, I told myself.“Please let it be negative, please, please let it be negative” Literally frea-ing out, I mummured under my breaths, my words barely audible.“Ms. Wills, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long,” Dr. Dawson said, his smile making me uncomfortable. Why the smile?? I breathed out a shaky breath, hoping to calm myself. Deep breathes Sam. You got this."Not at all, Doc," I said, attempting a smile. "It wasn't that long...""Well, congratulations, Mrs. Wills." His smile grew as he gave me a tiny envelope. My breath hung in my throat. No, God, no. I quickly conposed myself, swallowing hard."What do you mean, Dr. Dawson?" I asked, my heart pumping hard."You're six weeks pregnant, Mrs. Wills," he stated. It seemed like time stopped, and the world began

He thought to himself as he clicked the email, his hands trembling slightly. The sender was unknown, and he quickly glanced around his study, ensuring no one else was present. With a deep breath, he opened the message. The email was brief but pointed: "Do you know what your wife has been up to? Check the attached photos."Tyler hesitated, his finger hovering over the attachment icon. When he finally clicked it open, he saw Samantha, his wife, in the arms of Owen, the man who had been his sworn enemy since childhood.A wave of anger flooded his veins, threatening to cloud his judgment. The door swung open and my gaze fell upon the familiar figure of Lilian, our househelp."Good evening, Mrs. Wills," she greeted me, a polite smile on her lips.A thin wavw of relief coursed through me as it turned out to be Lilian, our househelp, and not Tyler. To be honest, I didn't think I had gathered the courage to break the news yet. "Mrs. Wills," Lilian broke the short silence, her voice warm and gentle. "Mr. Wills said he wants to see you in his study when you get back," she said.I started to panic. My heart was beating very fast, like an animal that was trapped.See me in his study? Why? Was he finally willing to talk, to reconcile? He never calls to talk to me privately. Well, he hasn't done that in two years. I nodded to Lilian, my throat tight, my heart beating so hard I felt like it was visible through my chest. "Thanks for the message," I managed to let out. My mind was spinning, and I tried to steady myself, to remember that this moment had to come."I should head

He growled, his words full of anger. "I should have seen it at the beginning. But I didn't. I was blind. Blinded by your...charms."His words hurt me, but something inside me snapped. "How dare you?" I said. "If you didn't want me, why did you ask for my parents blessings to marry me?”Tyler let out a dry laughter. “Blessings?" he spat, his lip twisting in disgust. "You think I was happy with this arranged marriage either? I did it for the sake of our families, for the sake of tradition. And what did I get in return? A wife who can't even keep her legs closed."My eyes narrowed, rage scorching through my veins. "Don't attempt to twist this around, Tyler. You were the one who agreed to marry me, who made all those promises. And now you're blaming me for your own mistakes?""Mistakes?” Tyler asked, his brows furrowed. "Yes, mistakes," I yelled, my voice rising with wrath. "You married me because you thought it was the right thing to do," I said. "But now it is clear. You never really

Upstairs, I made my way to the bedroom I had been banished to.The room that had once been my comfort zone now felt cold and empty, a mirror of the future Tyler had left me with.I spotted my charger on the bed and remembered I needed to power my phone. I rushed to plug it in, knowing I needed to call Ann, my friend. She was the person I could always count on and right now, I really needed her. When the phone lit up, I felt a tiny bit of relief. I knew that I was not alone in this, even if only for a moment. With that small comfort, I turned to face the rest of the room. The sight of my belongings scattered around the room felt almost unreal, like remnants of a life that had become a stranger to me. I walked to the closet and pulled out a suitcase, the reality of leaving sinking in with every item I packed. My phone buzzed, breaking the calm of the room.. I pulled it up to saw a new message from Anna."Hey girl! What's wrong with your phone?! Call me, it's important."I couldn't ign

“Samantha! Oh my God Sam.. Sam please open your eyes! Sam please!” This familiar voice kept echoing in my ears but sounded far away. My head was banging so hard.. the pestle hitting a mortar kind of bang. I tried to open my eyes but couldn't.. couldn't move. What was happening? A dream maybe?.. Then I felt a soft grip on my hand, a sound like a sob? I tried opening my eyes again and this time, they opened slightly.. It was blurry at first but gradually became clear, taking in the sight of the crystal white painting of the wall before me. The atmosphere felt unusually bright and cold.. turning my head slightly, my gaze met Anna seated beside me. Her eyes were filled with tears, she had obviously cried too much. As our eyes met, there was a flicker of hope.. of relief. “You stupid bitch! How dare you fuckin scare me like that!” Anna said, her voice a mixture of relief, happiness, pain, sadness. “I thought you were really gon’ die!.. Are you okay now? How are you feeling?” I tr

He should feel relieved. He thought he'd feel relieved with her finally gone yet he felt anything but. The woman he'd been forced to marry two years ago, the source of many frustrations, was finally gone, and the mansion now felt cold and empty. He should be breathing a sigh of relief right now yeah but what was this weird feeling? Why does the mansion suddenly have this empty, cold vibe to it? “Hey Ty, didn't get Champagne from the wine stand, I think it's out of stock, I got this instead” Julie, Tyler's 'sweetheart’ and new secretary, was all smiles as she approached him in the living room, raising a bottle of Prosecco, the popular Italian sparkling wine and two wine glasses. She was a vibrant blondie with a naughty sparkle in her eye. The type of girl who made heads turn wherever she went, with her pixie-like features, slim figure, and sharp wit that frequently left him struggling to keep up. “Let’s toast to freedom!” She said as she poured wine in the two glas

As we entered the crowded club, the bass of the music hammered through my chest, and the air was thick with the aroma of sweat, perfume, and possibility. Strobe lights swirled across the floor, illuminating a sea of bodies dancing in time with the music. I blinked, temporarily overwhelmed. This was not my scene anymore. "I can't believe you talked me into doing this," I said above the music, staring at Ann, who was far too pleased with herself. She grinned, pulling me deeper into the turmoil. "You needed it, Sam! Trust me. "Just let go once!" I tried to complain, but the words froze in my throat when the tempo changed to a familiar song. The type that made you want to move despite your resistance. Ann grabbed my hand and spun me toward the dance floor, and I followed her, more out of tiredness than joy. Maybe she was correct. Maybe this was what I needed—a night to forget everything. Tyler. Julie. My chest ached constantly, no matter how hard I tried. Ann plunged into t

Tyler's office was a storm gathering, and every breath he drew was thick with wrath. The air felt heavy and oppressive, as if it could sense the outburst of rage he strained to conceal. His fists clutched the edge of his desk, knuckles white, as Julie stood across from him, her face a mask of calm defiance. "What have you done?!" he shouted, his voice piercing the tension like a razor. Julie twisted her lips into a small, unrepentant smile. "What did *I* do? Oh, Tyler, don't act innocent here. You cannot sleep with someone and expect no consequences." "Consequences?!" His voice increased, booming off the walls, and his control slipped with each phrase. "Yes, Tyler. *Consequences.*" She crossed her arms, her tone excruciatingly chilly. "This is as much your issue as it is mine. "You can't just decide when you want to be a father." Tyler looked at her, his heart racing in his chest. "I'm not trying to…" "Save it," Julie said, her gaze tightening. "I am tired of your excuse

As I stepped inside, the office door creaked open, and the subtle aroma of leather and coffee enveloped me like a familiar embrace. Tyler looked up from behind his desk, his tie slightly loosened and his hair mussed just enough to suggest the turmoil of his morning. Despite the strain on his face, his expression relaxed as he spotted me. "Sam," he exclaimed, standing as if just seeing me had removed an invisible weight off his shoulders. I smiled, feeling warmth rush through me as he approached and pulled me into his arms. "Miss me already?" I teased, but the reality was, I missed him more than I wanted to admit. "Always," he said, his voice low as his chin touched my hair. I drew back slightly and studied his face. There were lines I hadn't noticed before, and his eyes appeared tireder than usual, but he concealed it well. "How are things at the company?" I asked, stepping back and perching myself on the edge of his desk. "You mentioned it's been intriguing. "What is going

"Impressive as always, Sam," said the soft, familiar voice behind me. I froze as the paintbrush slipped from my fingers and onto the palette below. Even after all these time, that voice still sent shivers down my spine. I slowly turned, my heart thumping. There he was. Caleb stood in the doorway of my gallery, his fitted suit faultless, his dark eyes glinting with the same blend of charm and cunning that I'd always adored. I hadn't seen him since the day he terminated everything, the day I discovered he was a false asshole and shattered any trust I'd thought we had. "Caleb," I murmured, my voice measured, disguising the upheaval his sudden entrance had caused. "What are you doing here?" He moved deeper inside, his hands nonchalantly tucked into his pockets, taking in the half-finished pieces littered across the room. "What? No 'long time, no see'? "I thought we were better than that. I folded my arms and leaned on the edge of the worktable. "Caleb, I don't recall us bei

Tyler walked into his office, his movements quick and determined, the slight echo of his shined shoes bouncing off the marble floors. His jacket fell loosely over his shoulder, and his tie was slightly crooked, indicating the type of morning he'd had: rushed, tense, and full of unanswered questions. Ben was already sitting on the edge of one of the beautiful leather seats opposite Tyler's desk, clutching a stack of papers in his palm. His brow wrinkled, and his posture seemed particularly stiff. Tyler didn't bother with politeness. "What was that in the mail you sent me?" Tyler demanded, dropping his jacket on the back of his chair. Ben rose promptly, handing out the papers. "Sir, this is about the Smith Corporation. They approved the parameters of the joint venture, but there's... something else. Tyler narrowed his eyes as he took the documents and flipped over the pages. "Anything else?" Can you elaborate, Ben?" Ben paused, running his hand through his short hair. "It i

As soon as I walked into Ann's living room, her cheeky smile greeted me from the sofa. She was resting with one leg curled beneath her, a steaming mug of tea in her hand, and a knowing expression that only Ann could carry off. "I knew it," she replied, without waiting for me to seat down. I froze in the doorway, still clutching my overnight bag. "Knew what?" I inquired, pretending innocence, though the heat rising up my neck was already betraying me. Ann lifted an eyebrow and slowly sipped her tea, her gaze never leaving mine. "You know that vibe when your bestie doesn't spend the night at home, and then she strolls in the next morning looking like she's just been hit by Cupid's arrow?" She tilted her head, her grin growing wider. "Yeah, *that's* what." I rolled my eyes and stepped inside, closing the door behind me. "Oh, Ann, I'm too tired for this," I exclaimed theatrically, dumping my suitcase beside the door. "Too tired, my ass," she responded, standing up and crossin

"Sir, the Smiths Corporation finally mailed the approved file," Ben explained as he entered Tyler's office, clutching a sleek black folder. His tone was a mix of relief and enthusiasm, as if he had just emerged from weeks of uncertainty. "This is official. We are cleared to proceed. This could be the largest transaction of the year for us." Tyler looked up from his desk, his keen, focused stare fixed on the document in Ben's fingers."Finally," he said softly, reclining back in his chair. The prior two weeks had been exhausting, but hearing those words was like a breath of new air. "Good job, Ben. "How quickly can we get everything moving?" "Immediately. "The team has already been mobilized," Ben said with a grin. "I'll oversee the first stages personally." Tyler nodded. "Good. Also, ensure that this happens smoothly. There is no room for error on this one. "Not after all we've been through." Ben hesitated, his smile fading somewhat. "About that... We're starting the process
