Jessie was looking at the approaching traveling carriage that would be carrying her to the coastal city of Royal Lothso which was reigned by the Earl of Raine. She heard the rumors that the earl was a very handsome man. Jessie scoffed.
Of course, he is. He’s from the Higher Court after all, she mused as the carriage stopped in front of her. She smiled as she was traveling light and did not look like a Lady at all.
“Royal Molftus, Royal Molftus!” The coachman announced before some of the passengers were getting off for their final destination and some were still inside. Jessie was the only one who would be getting into the carriage from Royal Molftus to Royal Lothso.
The coachman was nodding at her as she was paying him a Tita, which was equivalent to a Crown, for her passage to the coastal city. She got in before she was settled at the window seat before someone else took the seat beside her.
Jessie turned to look at the person
Tom was looking at the lady who was traveling with him in the traveling carriage to the Royal Lothso. He did not take his private carriage as he was trying to find the reason behind the shipment and trades from Royal Molftus to his region were never received. It was bandits that had been benefitting from the thieving.Right now, Tom felt something inside him stirring as he was looking at the black-haired woman in the hands of the leader. He never felt like protecting someone from danger but tonight; her allure and her scent have been driving him crazy with needs.Tom has to make his choice; protect the lady or take down the bandits. But of course, he chose the former, which was the noble cause of the gentry; to protect a lady without thinking of their social status. The lady in question was a peasant, considering her clothes but so was Tom.He was adorning the simple black tunic and breeches with the black cape to match his hat to
“You have to marry me,” the stranger said as Jessie was looking at his violet eyes. She never knew that the eyes would be the ones to open someone’s heart to know their intention. Jessie was looking at the stranger’s uncanny violet orbs before she saw something pooling inside them.Something dark that Jessie wanted to uncover for herself, and only herself. When the stranger was speaking of marriage, Jessie could picture himself being under him every night, on their marriage bed, writhing and begging for him to take her to oblivion. Jessie smiled at him before she leaned forward to the stranger.“And what is your name, milord? I cannot marry someone that I don’t know,” Jessie said as the stranger was blinking his eyes. He would not think that Jessie would agree to marry him, did he? Well, news flashed, she would and this time, she had something that would keep her preoccupied for the rest of her life.&ldq
Yes, Jessie knew all about the gentry and the Porphyria that they were affected by since birth. But there was a slight amount of the gentry, mostly who was married into the gentry, was changed to get the Porphyria and became…A Vampyre. That’s the official term for the gentry by the locals alike as they did not understand what was going on with the gentries coming out at night and sleeping during the day. It has been going on for generations since the first settlers were inhabiting the island. It was just the way it was.Jessie had gone to Tom and straddled his lap as she was pushing him against the trunk. She was looking at him, determined to get him the blood that he needed.“Here, take it. I am offering to you, Tom as repayment for saving my life. Now, I want to save yours,” Jessie said as Tom was breathing hard now. Even harder than before as she was looking at him.“I can’t. I cannot take just any bl
Jessie was startled when she was feeling the warmth that was coming on her face. When she opened her eyes, she was staring at the fire that was lighting up the cave as she was looking at the man who was grilling some fish over the fire.“Oh good, you’re up. Here, the dinner’s almost ready,” Tom said as she was looking at his expert fingers handling the fish grilling and her stomach growled. Now, she wanted the ground to swallow her as Tom was chuckling at her.“Easy now, you can have more of the fish if you want,” Tom said as she was looking at him. Tom has gathered some leaves to put the fish on. Then, he was serving it to her. She was looking at the fish before Tom was biting onto the fish as well.“You still can eat human food?” Jessie as before Tom was looking at her. He swallowed before he was smiling at her.“Why yes. We can eat human food as long as we have blood in our system. The blood that we
Tom was looking at the village as they were getting out of the carriage. He breathed a deep breath as it had been a long time since he was in the civilization, even though it had only been one night and two days that he was stuck, with one particular black-headed Lady.He turned to look at his friend’s wife before they went inside an inn. Tom followed Ian inside as well before the ladies went to their rooms. They were chatting and Tom was looking at Ian who was amused by his stare.“What?” He asked his friend before the marquis was patting his shoulder.“Have you told her?” He asked Tom as Tom was looking at Ian.“What do you mean?”“Oh you know, the fact that you’re a lord and needed a wife as well as a source to anchor your demons. You know, the usual stuff,” Ian asked as Tom was scowling at him.“I don’t know what you’re talking about,
Arabella was smiling as she was reading the dismissal from her new spy amongst the lords. But of course, they never knew who they were as Arabella kept a strict shortlist of them. They never thought it was them anyway.“Why do I feel like I was walking into a trap right now?” The prince consort, Aiden was walking into the royal bedchamber when Arabella was walking toward her from behind her desk. She gave Aiden the letter before he read it. Then, he shook his head.“You know how to make people dance to your tune, my love,”“I know, I am good that way and I can make sure that the lords of the Higher Court will have the wife that they deserve,” Arabella said before the butler came inside the chamber.“Your Majesties, another letter from Baron of Fell,” he stated before Arabella took the letter before the butler disappeared. She opened the letter before she was reading the content. Then, she frowned.&ld
Jessie was gripping the bouquet a little too tight that she could feel the flowers being crushed by her hands. She could not believe that the man, the lord who was coming up to her at the reception was the one that she was marrying. So much for running away from him last week, she mused before Tom, her now-husband, broke the kiss and they were staring at the crowd. They were smiling at them before she spotted there was the new Duchess of Belikov as well as Emily. They were smiling at her as Jessie smiled before Tom pulled her out of the church and went to the reception that had been arranged at the estate.Of course, there were perks of marrying a Lord but there will be consequences as well. Jessie just hoped that she would not encounter them earlier than she wanted to.However, that would be her dream as the night just got better and better. After the ceremony, they went to the wedding reception that Tom had arr
Tom noticed that his wife had been sipping on the wine for quite some time now as he was sipping on the wine as well. She was smiling at him when she sipped on the wine even more and looked around the ballroom.Maybe it’s time to call it a night, Tom thought before Jessie stood up from her seat and went to him. Then, she was leaning on the table as she was looking into his eyes. Her blue orbs clashed with his violet ones.“You know, I was kind of thinking that you might just want to get this night over with so why don’t we got to our bedchamber and get on with it?” For a Lady, she does speak her mind and in this society as well.“Jessie, I think you have enough wine for tonight—” Tom was interrupted as Jessie leaned closer to him. Her alluring scent was sending Ton’s demon into a frenzy zone where he just wanted her to be down on the mattress of their bed and have his wicked ways with her.“Wh
It’s been one month. One fucking month until I can get my hands on Aiden’s body. Not that I don’t have anything to complain about but right now, I was relieved that we had escaped the party and the coronation for I was the current monarch with my prince consort.Aiden Dragomir.Niklaus was furious that I would marry a commoner but when I explained to him that Aiden was my soulmate and my demon had been claiming him as mine, he did not have anything to add anymore. He just let me plan the wedding and the coronation on the same day.It was exhausting, of course, for I was running around, cheering when the people of Niapachad Island were coming together to look at me. As well as the only queen who took a commoner as her prince consort.I was breaking history today, people!I sighed as I was leaning against the door when Aiden was removing his cravat from his neck, sauntering inside my bedchambers with the elegance tha
After Arabella left, Aiden was looking around his room for any trace of her. I cannot believe that she tricked me, he thought furiously before he took the clothes that Arabella wore and threw them into the fireplace. He was breathing hard before he was looking at the crackling firewood when his Nana entered the room.“You cannot blame her for why she’s been keeping a secret from you,” she said before Aiden was turning to look at his grandma.“So you know who she was? All this time?” he asked before he snorted. Aiden cannot believe that his Nana herself would not tell him the truth. The old woman shrugged.“Well, it was not my secret to tell and I have been hinting at her to tell you the truth. Perhaps she was afraid that you might be reacting like you are now?” she said before Aiden growled.“It’s not the same,”“No? Then you mustn’t forget the first time when you discovered th
I was looking at myself in the mirror as I was wiping my face. I sighed before I felt the stiff muscles as I slept on the chair last night. Next to Aiden. I smiled before I walked out of the washroom and Aiden was standing outside.“Oh, you’re awake already?” I asked him as he was looking at me. He smiled charmingly before he was nodding.“Yeah, I think I had the strangest dream ever last night,” he said as I was arching my eyebrows.“Oh, do tell?” I said as I was smiling at him. Aiden was looking at me before he shook his head.“You would not believe it,”“Try me,”He took a deep breath before I was waiting for him to continue, “I dreamed that your eyes were bleeding black and you attacked the cronies that my boss was coming at you to rape you. I tried to stop it but I was being stabbed in the stomach. It seems…so surreal that I don’t think I was dreaming a
Aiden was looking at the people that were coming at him at once. He was determined to keep Arabella from getting hurt as his boss and his cronies were going after her.“You son of a bitch! You will share your whore with us!” his boss said before they were coming at him. Aiden was thinking faster than his action. He took his ax and swung it as a form of defense. But of course, it was not going to deter the men from coming at Arabella.“Come on, lads! He just one man, what harm can he do to us?” the boss said before everyone was laughing. Aiden was gritting his teeth before he was slamming his shoulder into the boss. He went down before the cronies were coming at him, punching and kicking him in the stomach as he went down.“Aiden!” Arabella’s shout as he was struggling to keep his head above the attack. It was all his coworkers who did not have any honor or dignity in their blood. They only wanted to have fun and Arabella
Niklaus was looking outside the castle as the sun was on the horizon. He could not get any sleep lately for he feared that his cousin might be in danger. The all lords of the Higher Court were worried about their monarch.“Anything?” Niklaus asked his friend, Baron of Fell, Marsh, before he shook his head. Niklaus sighed before he took a seat at the head of the council meeting. There were five of them, the inner circle that Niklaus trusted to find his missing cousin.Bloody hell, Arabella, why do you have to be so stubborn at times? He thought before Ian was looking at him.“So, what do we do now? We cannot just sit idly and not be taking action about this. The prince will come here any day now and if Her Highness was not around to receive him—”“There will be a catastrophe. I know,” Niklaus said as he was rubbing his dry mouth. He did not know where or when Arabella had been slipping away from the palace but thei
Aiden was cutting the lumber into small pieces so that it would be easier to burn for the winter. He wiped his forehead which was accumulated with sweat before his boss came from behind.“Rough night, Blackwood?” he asked before Aiden turned to look at him. He was regarding the man before he smirked.“You could say that,” he said as he was cutting the log again. His boss smirked.“I bet that woman who warms your bed was worth it then. How much you got her for?”Aiden stopped his work before he turned to look at his boss. He was smirking at Aiden before he smiled charmingly at him.“She’s not for sale. She’s my wife,” Aiden lied smoothly before the boss was blinking his eyes at him.“You’re joking, right?” his boss asked but Aiden just left the conversation there as he was making his way out of the lumber field.“Have a good day then,” Aiden said
I woke up early the next morning because I was excited to get my first job. I know that my job would always be a monarch but to think that I will have an experience outside of state affairs and proposals for once would be the thrill of my life. The dusk was shining with orange sunlight before the sun was on the horizon. I took a shower before I put on the clothes that were provided by Nana for me. She told me that it once belonged to Aiden’s mother and I don’t know if I should be happy or not.I never asked about his parents and sometimes, I wished I had the courage to. But I don’t want to destroy the fragile relationship that we have anymore. I was threading the thread carefully now so that Aiden would be open to me more.If only.I was putting on the chemise before I was putting on the stays that will put my breasts in place. Then, I put on the petticoats, 5 layers of them, right before I put on the gown. It was a modest gown with long
I walked along with Aiden as he was putting his hands inside his pockets. I was looking at him from the corner of my eyes before I was looking at the moon. It was full tonight and everything was perfect in this little moment.I did not know what came over me but my mouth was humming the lullaby that my mother always sang to me whenever I went to bed. And I was doing that right now as Aiden was looking at me strangely.“How do you know that lullaby?” he asked me before I turned to look at him. His emerald orbs were shining under the moonlight.“Hmm? What?”“That song you were humming. My mother used to sing that to me as well,” he said with a hint of sadness before I stopped humming it altogether.“No, don’t stop. It just…no one ever heard that before,” he said as he turned to look at me. “until you,”I smiled before I hummed again the music that haunted both of us. My m
Aiden was making his way into the forest for his job as a lumberjack. He was carrying his favorite ax before his boss showed up in front of him.“Fancy seeing you here at this hour. I thought you might be late again, Blackwood,” his boss sneered before Aiden smiled at him, not feeling threatened by anything.“Well, what can I say? The woman that graced my bed last night was making me sleep late and I have to be here before you can say anything else, so here I am,” he said as he was setting up himself for his job. The boss was arching his eyebrow at him.“I thought you’re not approved of that way of life?” his boss asked him before Aiden shrugged.I am but I will not be telling you, “Perhaps I need to experience it myself before I can judge it,” Aiden said before he put on his protective mask and started on the lumber that was his quota for the day. The boss just nodded at him before leaving Aiden to hi
