Chapter Forty

“ Avery, what are you doing here? It's late already ” A silver haired man said walking towards a five year old girl.

“ Uncle Finn! I want to be a detective. A book in auntie Tasha's room states that bad guys lurk around houses at night and they're being caught by detectives. I also want to catch bad guys!” She explained flexing her invincible muscle.

Finn squatted to her level and ruffled her hair. “ If you want to be a detective, you have to grow up healthy and study well. Remember what I said about growing healthy? ”

Avery blinked her bright eyes before bobbing her head up and down.

“ Eat lot of fyoots” She wasn't able to properly pronounce ' fruits ' due to her incisors missing.

" What else?"

“ Erm...sleeping early, waking early and...”

“ Avery! You this naughty girl” A woman pulled on Avery's ears earning a squeal from the young girl.

“ You don't have to do that, Katie. I was just having a little chat with her.” Finn said standing up.

Katie's face was red in embarrassment.
