Theodore set down his fork with a loud clatter, instantly turning the atmosphere tense. Both he and Willow fell silent.

By the time Cedar emerged, Willow was the only one left eating in the dining room. Theodore had already left.

"Willow, where did he go?" Cedar asked.

"He's gone. Are you going after him? He hasn't gone far," Willow responded.

Cedar frowned, glancing toward the door. "Did you two argue?"

He sighed, pulling out a chair and taking a seat. "Willow, I just don't understand sometimes. You're a couple. What's there to argue about?"

"As I've told you before, Cedar, we're not a couple."

Cedar shrugged it off. "My roommate always says that when women are upset, they behave just like you. First, they deny being in a relationship with their boyfriend. Then, they deny any connection to him at all. Some even act like they don't know him."

Willow's fork paused midway to her mouth. "Will you die if you keep quiet?"
