Chapter 2

Heart skip

   Areum left the music class late and tired. She got home and didn't meet her father in the living room as expected. She shrugged, thinking he's in his room or something.

   She climbed up the stairs, ignoring the maid's calls, "What would you like for dinner, Miss Areum ?miss! Miss!"

   Areum walked to her father's room, with the intention of kissing him Goodnight and apologizing for what had happened but reaching his door, she heard his frustrated huff, "I just don't know what to do about her. She's so stubborn,never on time,carefree, troublesome,and brings me nothing but worries. Apart from her musical excellence, she's totally a thorn on the neck."

  

    Areum rolled her eyes, wondering why her father is so dramatic. The teacher didn't even die! Gosh!

   "She should be home by now, but then she's probably causing one chaos or the other."

     Areum wondered who her father was reporting her to. Wait a minute! The only person her father talks about her to is...

   "Thanks, Yul. She'll come tomorrow. Maybe she'll listen to you . Let's just hope she comes on time "

       Areum stomped to her room, losing interest in the eavesdropping. Ugh!

  Her father's brother, Yul, is such an adviser and it's pissing. He's always scolding and lecturing... For hours!Damn! Seems she's going to spend her Saturday listening to lectures.

     She took off her sneakers and jacket, dumping them on the couch adjacent to her bed.

       "Why is my life so annoying? I even have practice with that b*tch tomorrow." She muttered to herself, referring to one of her school mates.

      Apart from her troublemaking saga, she's also a well-known singer in her school. A Diva. Sometimes, she represents her school for competitions and never fails to win. Her voice could melt the hardest heart.

        She laid tiredly on the bed, her eyes suddenly heavy and threatening to close, "I'll just see Uncle Yul tomorrow then run away..."

    Then, her eyes closed and sleep took over.

" Dang it! Dang it! "Areum muttered to herself, rushing into the cafe. She's already 15 minutes late and that would gain her extra lectures.

   Her phone vibrated in her hand and as she took it out to check what's up, she bumped hard into something and the smoothie she was holding spilled all over her.

   "Gosh!" She gasped, feeling the substance soak up with her blouse. Damn it! She just bought this!

She looked up, with the intention of yelling at whoever the blind bat was, but she paused.

      Because for the first time... In her entire life, her heart skipped.

      His stuff were spilled on the floor. He picked them up and looked at her with an apologetic look, "I wasn't looking up. Sorry about that." He said, referring to the stain on her blue blouse.

  "It... It's okay.I wasn't looking up either" She replied, feeling the heart skip again. His eyes...

     He adjusted his nerdy specs, "No problem, Miss. Goodbye. "

     "Yeah. Bye." She muttered and he smiled faintly before walking away.

    "What was that?" She asked herself, still staring at the guy's back. To be honest, she didn't know why she'd reacted that way. Normally, she would have been so rude and then snap at him.

    But she was dazed. Not that there's anything special about his looks. He's dressed plainly infact, and he's using really nerdy glasses. But behind those glasses were the most attractive blue eyes she's ever seen. They were like.. Electric blue...

     Her phone rang out and she checked. It was her uncle. She quickly picked up, rushing to meet her appointment.

    ⭐⭐⭐later in the evening ⭐⭐⭐

  Areum sat on her queen sized bed, a book opened before her, her face contorted in a frustrated frown. "Ok. I just have to use an alto here. But wouldn't teno..."

   A loud ring interrupted her hard thinking. She hissed in annoyance, checking the caller. It's Riel.

    She had the intention of growling at her but immediately she picked up, Riel screamed loudly, "Ahhhhhh!!!"

      So loud that Areum had to keep the phone away from her ear, unwilling to get deaf. When the scream died down, she snapped," What is it, Riel!? "

   Riel giggled excitedly," Guess what! "

Areum pushed the book aside, laying back on her heart-shaped pillow," Your mom is pregnant? "

     " No, dummy. Remember the party Marlo was talking about on Tuesday? "

  " What party? "Areum asked, trying to recall if she even saw the so called Marlo on Tuesday.

    " We got invited! It's Kanye Black's party! "Riel announced.

    Areum rolled her green eyes, now recalling." I know that. Dante told me i was invited. I turned it down. "

    Riel gasped shockingly over the  phone," You fuvking did what!?"

    "Turned down Kanye's invitation?" Areum said, so sure it's not a big deal.

"Are you nuts!? YOU have to go! WE have to go!"

    "It's tomorrow night. I'm not prepared." Areum said, trying to find an excuse.

    "We are going, Areum. Pleeeseeee!"

Areum sighed. Riel can be annoying.

   "ok. This or dinner with my cousins!"

"The party. "Areum said, rolling her eyes.

       Riel smiled," Good evening,Mr Kyung."

   "Hello,Riel. How are you? I take that you are going out with Areum tonight."

   "Yes sir."

"alright. Keep her out of trouble. And please there by 9."

   " Understood sir. "Riel smiled and rushed up the stairs.

    Areum was rummaging through her closet. She's been doing so for the past 15 minutes. It's infuriating.

   Riel ran into the room," ready?! "

Areum turned to Riel," I hate you, Riel. "

Riel smiled coyly " i know!What are you wearing? "

    Areum scanned Riel's dressing. She wore a short glitter dress with spaghetti straps and heels.

   " I don't know. I told you I'm not ready."Areum groaned, standing up.

Riel chuckled, picking a dress, "This?"

"Too short ... Too long... Too big... Too tight ... Too red... Too pink... Too black. "

     Riel threw the black dress at her," Seriously!? Too black!? "

   Areum laughed, winking." Maybe I should wear this. It's nice. I just got it last week. "She said, picking a purple dress. The dress had low back, showing little cleavage,with long sleeves."I'll wear this. Do my makeup!"

"So fvcking hungry." Riel groaned as she drove her car.

   "Didn't you eat?" Areum asked, looking out the window.

   "Not really. Just toast and coffee." Riel replied. At the mention of coffee, Areum's mind flashed back to that guy from yesterday. His shy smile... Suddenly made her smile. She felt that familiar heart skip.

It's like she's getting obsessed with him without even knowing him, because she dreamt about him... their ' bump'

  She sighed, "What is this?" She murmured to herself.
