4. The Plan

I was seated in my living room with my brother, Edoardo, who I had just finished narrating the events of the day to. Immediately, I saw Giancarlo walk in; I knew he was bringing bad news.

My phone was blowing up; the few guests I bothered to invite to the wedding were getting worried, and I had no answer for them yet. I was hoping my men would get Aria back and we’ll proceed with the wedding even if it was late.

But when I saw Carlo, I knew I was only dreaming. I could tell by the look on his face that whatever he was about to tell me, I was not going to like it.

“Yes?” I asked.

“The car with the plate number was found three streets away from the subway,” Carlo said, pausing there. “It’s registered in Aria’s name.”

“And?”

“Pietro...” he called. I’d never seen Giancarlo at a loss for words. I frowned at him.

“Carlo speak.”

“She’s gone.”

I clasped both of my palms together. Heat crawled up my neck at his words. “Where did she go?” I asked, determined to follow her even to the devil’s den.

“We don’t know yet. Her name was not registered at the airport; none of our men at the checkpoints had seen her. The subway, the bus terminals, nothing.” Carlo said.

None of this was making sense anymore. “How can one person, one single lady sneak out under your noses?”

“I believe she’s still in Queensland,” Carlo said, and I shook my head.

“I think the problem we have is underestimating Aria Kostas. She is fuckin lethal. She has left Queensland, I can feel it in my bones. But one thing I’m very certain of is, she didn’t do any of this alone. She had help. Get me the fucker or fuckers that helped her.” Carlo nodded but was still standing there. “For god’s sake Carlo, didn’t you hear me?”

“Aria has only one friend, Susie. And she’s been at the wedding venue since morning. Never left there.” He explained.

How the hell did she do it then? It was all beautifully orchestrated. She had covered all bases like she knew what to expect. How did she do it?

I roared furiously, pounding my fists on one of the chairs with such force that it shifted aside. “Who were the people on guard when she ran out?”

Giancarlo tightened his lips, and I turned to him; he saw the terror in my eyes. “Kill them,” I ordered cold-bloodedly.

“Pietro...” He started.

“Kill them, put their heads on a spike, and hang them at the entrance of their family houses. It's standard punishment for what they did. They deserve worse.”

“Consider it done,” Carlo answered with a sober nod.

The emotion I was feeling was that of pure rage. Today is supposed to be my wedding day. Aside from the embarrassment Aria's action might cause me, she was putting herself in great danger. I’m not the holiest of all men. So the risk to her is pretty high.

With all the killings on my plate, her position as my bride makes her not just vulnerable, but it also puts her in a position where she has to be scared for the rest of her life. My motive for this marriage might be evil and centered on revenge, but that doesn’t mean I want her dead. Yet.

“Did you check her home, and she isn’t there?” Edoardo finally broke his silence.

“Yes. But our men found something-"

I snapped my face toward Carlo. “And you’re just mentioning it? What is it?”

Carlo pushed his phone to me. “It’s a note.” He said. “You should read it yourself.”

I brought the phone closer, and it read: “I’d rather be crushed by a moving van than get married to you, Mr. Eppolito.”

‘Screw you, Aria Kostas’.

I straightened, my spine uncoiling as every vertebra slotted back into place. Amusement curled the corner of my lips, even as anger lurked just beneath the surface. I had to admit; I felt proud. Aria was smart and brave and that would make breaking her way more fun than I thought.

Now I understood why she had the balls to make a whole journal about me. I still couldn’t get myself to believe it, while other women had thrown themselves at me in the past, Aria Kostas literally chose to run away from her life and home just to escape me.

Now, she had just turned herself into a package that I’m even more desperate to get my hands on.

“Tell my papa what happened. The rest of the guests should disperse. The bride had a health emergency or any other excuse you can think of.” I instructed. Carlo nodded his understanding.

“Any info on who deflated my tires?” I asked.

He nodded. “Some old beggar that was tipped a $100 by an anonymous man. He described the man, but it wasn’t something we could work with.”

“What did subway cameras give you?”

“Nothing,” he responded.

Aria Kostas was working with a man. Did she ditch me on our wedding day because of a man? Wait... she eloped with a man? My blood was boiling at this point.

‘How dare you, Aria Kostas?’

“Interrogate every single person wearing a wedding dress at that subway and the beggar that deflated my tires. If they fail to give you anything tangible this time around, end their miserable lives. Send some men to Aria's sister's place at Welbrum. They should notify me once they catch sight of Aria anywhere around there."

I paused and smiled wickedly as I thought of all the ways I'll punish Aria Kostas. Tracking down people who hide from me is what I do for a living. There’s no way I’ll let a young twenty-six-year-old College Professor get past me.

"I'm going in search of my bride." I said, looking at the clock at the fireplace. It was almost midnight. "Let's go pay Aria's best friend a visit." I said and started pulling off my suit jacket.

My brother started folding his sleeves, getting himself ready for a hunt.

“Pietro," Carlo started. "You don't have to do this yourself. Leave it to our men. I’ll pull in our contacts scattered all over the world on her. If you decide to do this yourself, who’s going to hold the tide while you're away?”

I slanted Giancarlo a murderous look, poison seeping into my gaze. “You don’t tell me what I can and can’t do.”

Old Carlo stood to match my posture. “Respectfully, Capo, we need you here; a lot is going on right now that needs your attention and sign-off. Meeting with the new supplier and vetting his products, you’re supposed to meet with Genovese for an alliance, and he won’t agree to meet unless you’re coming.”

Carlo was right, but I don’t care.

“We can get you another bride, Pietro. Someone willing and deserving of you. Just forget about this Kostas girl, and when our men get her, we treat her the way we treat infidels,” he suggested, and I almost ripped his tongue out.

"I'm ready." Edoardo announced ignoring Carlo's words of advice.

“Listen to me, Carlo." I started. "I want, and I will have Aria Kostas. Understood?”

He nodded grumpily and waited for my dismissal. “Tell me you understand.”

“Si, I understand.” He agreed.

I had just finished a virtual business meeting with Hollis Genovese, one of my soon to be allies, explaining to him why we should shift our supposed physical meeting to a much later time with an excuse that had nothing to do with me running around the world in search of my bride.Edoardo stepped into my room with a frown. He slumped onto one of the sofas then looked at me. “No luck yet.” He said. We’ve been trying to find where Aria could have possibly lodged, but so far, nothing. She followed a public bus to a college bus stop and that is all we know. I started tapping my table, thinking of what to do. Maybe I should go on a shooting spree. If I kill her father and stepmother, maybe that will force her out of hiding. Or maybe I should kidnap her step sister since they are very close.I was still contemplating the best option amongst the two when my cell phone buzzed. “Yes?” I answered gruffly. “Pietro.” A voice called and a chilly sense of calm washed over my body. It was her.

Barely four hours later, I jogged down the steps of my private jet and set foot on the tarmac at the Slovenian Airport. I was accompanied by Edoardo, a pissed Giancarlo, and four other men Carlo insisted I bring for manpower. His suggestion made sense, so I accepted. The extra people will definitely be useful in actually tracking Aria down faster. Immediately, we got to Dolgovãske Gorice, the small village that housed the Vinaruim tower; I felt Aria's presence. She was here. But we needed to locate which house. Our first start was hotels and shortlet apartments. I knew she was here. I could feel it in my bones. The tension in my body has even increased in tempo. .Edoardo walked up to me. I arched my brow, a silent way of asking him if he had any update for me."Augusta Miller is lodged there." He pointed at an almost dilapidated-looking motel at a farther side of the road. "We showed the lady behind the desk Aria's picture and with a little monetary convi

Aria didn't return to the motel. Her belongings remained in her room, which I spent the night in. I ransacked her room, and all she had with her was a small box that contained just the basics. A few pieces of underwear, a head tie, a mini bottle of deodorant and perfume, and some wads of cash. By morning, it became obvious that she knew of our presence at the motel, and she was staying away, or so I thought until I stepped outside the motel and immediately felt her absence. It was like a visceral feeling. I just knew she wasn't here anymore. I felt it in my bones and it made me worry. She wasn't with her cards; how would she cope since she left most of her money at home? If she ran again, does she even have enough money on her? I was still worrying myself sick about her welfare when my phone buzzed. Aria called again. "Amore Mio." I rasped out, holding my phone a bit too tight to my ear. "Pietro... Why can't you leave me alone?" She asked. The strain and tiredness in her voice

We started heading out immediately while I pulled out my phone and summoned my men. Giancarlo was the first to arrive at the scene. "Should I get the jet ready to take us back to Queensland?" He asked. "No, not yet." His entire body tensed at my reply. "I’m not going back until I find her." Carlo didn't say a word immediately. He simply shook his head as if telling himself he shouldn't keep quiet. "Some people would question your focus, Capo. This girl, Aria, she doesn't want the union. Why don't you let her be and get settled with a girl that wants to be with you?"I prowled towards him, my movements as dangerous as a panther. Standing less than a foot away from him, I urged him in a daring tone, "Repeat what you just said.""Pietro, you know what I'm trying to-"I grabbed him by the collar and jerked him violently towards me, cutting off his words. He dropped his gaze in surrender, one of the few sane decisions he’d made since Aria's disappearance.

I shrugged. “Ruthlessness is a great character. You taught me that.” Carlo’s lips twitched in a small smile. It was obvious that he seemed proud of himself. “Aria is in Switzerland. I need eyes on there before we arrive.” “What are we looking for?” Carlo asked.“Any acquaintance of hers over there and why the hell she chose Switzerland out of all the places she could have run to. Also, check for any rich friend of hers that have the funds and capability to make Aria disappear without breaking a sweat. I need to find the stupid boy helping her.” I replied.“It could be a lady that...” He kept shut when he spotted my glare.“Transfer some money into all of her bank accounts. I don’t know the one she currently has access to. But I don’t want her going broke when I don’t even know where she is.” I ordered.Carlo nodded and stepped up to me. He clapped me on the shoulder. The tension between us gone as quickly as it appeared. “I’ll get it done.” He said. “

I was smiling when I pushed into our bedroom where my wife had been strapped down to a couch in the last couple of minutes. The fact that we had the whole family around for a visit did absolutely nothing to stop our crazy selves from doing what we wanted. They were all in the living room with the new housekeeper, taking care of them while I got my wife all to myself until we decide to come out or not. They knew better than to force us to come out. My wife looked up when I came into the bedroom. She was naked; her legs were spread open with a vibrator inserted inside her, making her squirm nonstop with need. The vibrator was set to go for forty seconds at a time, at a slow pace. Then it would stop for a minute before starting up again. Just enough to get her desperately aroused, but not enough to make her come. Very slowly, I unbuttoned my shirt as she glared at me. "This isn’t fair, Sir," she was panting. "Oh, that's too bad." I mocked her with my tone and my eyes. I carefully f

I rolled out of bed the next morning, so sore that I could barely walk. But I knew I needed one thing, and that was coffee. And even though I was too sore to make it myself. I had no choice but to locate the kitchen. But as thoughtful as the Eppolito brothers were, there was a housekeeper already cooking up a storm."Good morning, Mrs. Eppolito." She greeted me when I entered the kitchen."Hi, good morning. Uhm, I'm Celia, and you?""Erica." She replied."Great. Can you... I'd like a cup of coffee with half and half. Is that possible?" "Coming right away, Ma'am," Erica replied.I took a seat on one of the kitchen stools, grateful for the soft padding of the seat. I waited patiently for my coffee. The coffee was ready in less than three minutes. I was just finishing the last sip when I heard Edoardo shouting, "Celia. Celia. CELIA!" I didn’t even have a chance to call back when I heard him kicking the door of the bedroom we slept in, open, slamming it against the wall."I can’t find

My legs were starting to ache from dancing, Edoardo looked at me and shook his head. "Let’s go," he said, pointing me to the garage."Where?" I asked. "Everyone is still here," I said, spotting Pietro in a friendly chat with Lax and a couple of other men. Papa was still dancing and eating cake. Freda and Dorcas were telling a group of women some interesting story that got them hooked."It's our night baby," Edoardo said, turning me around to face the direction of the garage. "I want to go someplace calm and sink myself inside you all night."My mouth opened slightly, and he jerked his head toward the garage. My ass was too sore to contemplate disobeying him again tonight. After driving through steep roads, hills, and endless curves, we arrived at a calm, gigantic home, completely isolated from the streets. There were security manning the gate and the house itself."Is this yours?" I asked as we drove in."No, it belongs to Pietro and Aria." He replied. He parked the car and I tried

Immediately I felt his hard cock on the small of my back; I knew both of us had lost the battle.I lost the strength to fight him and he lost the determination to punish me. I felt the exact moment he lost his control; his breath got ragged, and he sighed regrettably."Fucking stop running away, please." He said giving up. "If anything happens to you, I won't survive it." He added. And the tears stung my eyes. Edoardo's love for me has always defied superficial understanding. Our relationship had been the best thing ever. We loved each other recklessly. Until I left him because of my terrible father. His dick continued pressing into my naked ass. Then I heard a zipper and the feel of his hot cock between my legs. He shoved my thighs apart roughly, his hands a sharp slap on my legs to make me move them faster. "Open," he growled. I gasped at the feeling as he shoved his dick through my legs and into my pussy. Today's plan was successful. I took the woods instead of the road. So, no one would have thought it wise to check the woods just yet. I contemplated my situation. I was all alone in the woods, and I had no goddamn clue where I was. Why the fuck had I thought this plan would work. I turned in another direction and began to maneuver through the trees. Panic began to rise in my chest as the branches tore at my arms and dress. "Surely the house was back that way. So the road must be this way."An owl hooted nearby, making me almost jump out of my skin. The trees all formed thick canopies, making the wood quite dark. And then I saw a shape come out behind a tree at me.I screamed my lungs out. My voice was high-pitched and alarming. But with a gasp of relief, I realized that it was my husband. "Edoardo." I cried, my heart pounding. "Hello, baby," he said, his voice was like ice. "You scared the fuck out of me," I said, inadequately. "And I’m going to do much more than that pretty so

It was the morning of our wedding. The house was already packed. The servant quarters were buzzing with activity, and Papa was the first to get dressed. I had climbed down the stairs to see what the whole noise and cheers were all about. Only to find out that they were cheering Papa. I backed away to the stairs and turned right into Edoardo's broad chest. "It’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding." Hollered Aunt Dorcas from the room, but Edoardo only laughed. "It will only be bad luck for anyone who tries to keep me from her after today." He said. And his eyes were so bright when he looked at me, devouring me, that my breath caught in my throat and I didn’t think I could run away from him again, whether he consumed me or not. I left for my room and he stepped aside, giving me a sweet smile.
