"You will not disobey me, Elena. You will marry him."
Those were the words of my father, Don Alberto Ricci, and they echoed loudly in my mind like I had just been slapped in the face.
When he had called me that morning, I should have known that something was off. Don Alberto had done everything possible to ignore his only child in the last few years, that I had given up on thinking I actually had a father.
"I will do no such thing, Father." I hissed, gritting my teeth as anger pulsed through my veins. "It is funny how you think I will just sit here and let you sell me off to the highest bidder!"
"Well, that highest bidder is my only chance at being on the stronger side of this war, Elena, and you will marry him." He moved closer, his eyes blazing. There were few times my father had shown me this side of him, and this, compared to all those times, was the worst.
"No—" The word had just left my mouth when a slap landed on my face, cutting off the air in my lungs.
Pain coursed through my cheek. I wanted to cry out, but I couldn't. There was no way I would let my father see me weak.
"You will marry him, Elena, and that is final."
The door opened then, and I heard someone walk in, but I didn't turn, still shocked and rooted to the spot from my father's slap.
"Leave us, Alberto. I will take it from here."
That voice. Rich, deep, baritone, but colder than the Atlantic, was so familiar to me, that just as my father was leaving, I turned to see who owned it, and I gasped.
Luca De Santis.
He was tall. Taller than I had thought he would be. His eyes were a rich silver... blue or grey, I couldn't tell as the light played with them from where I stood.
Dark lashes framed those beautiful eyes of his, making them more dangerous. My eyes fell to his nose, which was slightly bigger than it should be but was straight and perfect for his face.
Heck, I didn't need to see more to acknowledge the fact that De Santis was easily the most handsome man I had ever set my eyes on.
And his lips...
"If you are done lusting after me, Elena, then we can talk." The irritating amusement in his tone knocked me out of my daydream and back to reality, causing irritation to flood every inch of my being.
No way was I attracted to, talk more of lusting over, the man who was set on turning my very peaceful life upside down.
"Funny, because last I checked, we have absolutely nothing to talk about." I threw at him. "In fact, I was just about to leave, so good day, De Santis." And then I was making my escape.
I should have known it would not be so easy.
A wall, a huge wall of suit, chest, and muscles blocked my escape before I could reach the door. It was a miracle I didn't ram into him. "I'll let you leave when I want you to leave, Elena."
The way he said my name, coupled with the scent of his cologne, messed with me.
"Luca..." I whispered, fighting through the fog to get myself back on track. "There are other women out there. Women who would throw themselves at you."
"Easy, I don't want them, Elena. Or, should I say, you are more convenient... I need a wife. And I'm sure your father has told you what this marriage means for him. For everyone." The last word was said in a whisper.
"Luca, I have someone...."
The rich laugh that left his lips. "Donavan?" he hissed, then moved closer so he was just less than an inch away from me.
How did he know Donavan?
Luca reached forward, lifting my chin with a finger so we locked gazes.
"That thing you have with that little boyfriend of yours was never going to go anywhere," he said in a low tone that sent shivers down my spine.
I didn't cower. "How would you know anything about love, De Santis? Word on the street is that you go through women like you go through clothes, so you of all people cannot tell me what my relationship will be like."
Luca traced his fingers along my jawline, then bent so his breath fanned my lips.
I shuddered, my knees growing into jelly, rendering me immobile.
I should move. I willed myself to, but my treacherous knees refused to obey.
"Go then. Go see your little boyfriend of yours right now, Elena." His tone was filled with something deep and dangerous. "But mind you, whatever the outcome is, you will marry me, whether you like it or not."

No one was picking up my calls.
Not Donavan, no one.
Tears streamed down my face as I drove, trying my best to concentrate on the road ahead.
My heart thudded against my chest as the past hour replayed itself in my mind.
My father had sold me to the devil himself.
I hated Luca De Santis.
Had always hated him and had spent years avoiding everything that had to do with that man. But all that effort had gone to waste as I had been delivered right into his arms by the last person I thought would do that to me.
Now I had to face Donavan and tell him what was happening.
Maybe if he agreed with me, we could run away. There was no way in hell I was getting married to that man.
The car pulled to a stop in the parking lot of Donavan's apartment, and I was out, rushing into the elevator that would take me to his floor.
My heart was thudding lightly. I could not just feel it, but I could hear it in the emptiness of the elevator.
I wiped at my face, then cleared my throat as the elevator stopped and walked out.
My hands wrapped around the doorknob of the door I had just unlocked with my own keys, and I pushed it open.
Only to be met by the emptiness of the house.
I searched every room, but it was evident he was not home.
With a sigh, I pulled out my phone and dialed his number again, hoping we could meet wherever he was.
No answer.
With a disappointed sigh, and in a bid to hurry out, I walked out of the door and shut it behind me. Just as I was about to leave, my eyes caught the door opposite his, and on impulse, I moved closer, seeing it slightly ajar.
I shouldn't have peeped. I should have left when I wanted to.
But I did.
I peeked inside, and the sight before me almost sent me to my knees in shock.
There was no mistaking that the shoes left next to a pair of boxer briefs were Donavan's. I had had them customized for him the previous week.
On impulse, I pushed the door open, stepping into the room, where I could now hear the noises coming from inside.
Not just any noise—groans and moans.
My mouth dropped open as I took in the sight before me. Clothes, three pairs of shoes, briefs, and a bra were scattered on the floor, leading to the bedroom.
I could feel it, even before I saw it.
I could have walked back because I already knew, but I wanted to see, and so I saw. Walking to the door of the bedroom, which was left ajar.
Right there, on the bed, lay my Donavan, groaning in pleasure, while he had his member in the mouth of a woman, while said woman was being pounded from behind by the same neighbor Donavan had sworn he hated.
As if he felt me, Donavan turned, and our eyes met. "Shit! Elena."
There, right there at the doorway of that bedroom, I heard my heart shatter into a million pieces.
ELENAI knew I shouldn't have been coming out here, but no one had exactly banned me from going to any part of the house.Luca, Dante, and Alessandro had all gone out after lunch, with Luca saying they had somewhere to be. Even Valeria had disappeared as usual. I could not forget the lunch, even if I wanted to.All three siblings of his had taken turns interpretting our every move as something way more than it was. I was thankful though, that they had stopped with the whole me being in love with Luca comment, immediately he entered the kitchen.I didn't even want to know what his reaction to such would have been.I pushed open the gates of that led to the east wing, and frowned at the building that looked back at me.Because my bedroom window wasn't facing this part of the house, I had no view of this place. The only view I would have had, was from the kitchen and library. But the trees covered them, and it was build in a way you couldn't see it anyway.I was shocked at how identical
LUCAThe phone pressed to my ear was hot as fuck, but I couldn't give a shit. It wasn't as hot as I was feeling inside from all the anger inside of me."Alberto, you have absolutely now right to talk to me like that. You were in the middle of that fight and I am yet to know why. So don't come at me with your bloody reverse psychology because it would not work."Fabio, had pulled a copy of the CCTV footage from the casino, and just moments before the chaos happened and the CCTV was trashed, I could see Alberto walk in.The crazy part was, I had been parked right in front with both, and hadn't seen anything.Yet here he was, blaming me for putting his daughter in danger."What I do and where I go is none of your business, son. And I am very well in the right to hold you accountable for my daughter. She is a fucking asset to me, whether she is your wife or not!" his words struck me real deep but I wasn't even. having it right now."No. You have done business with the Spaniards before. Yo
ELENAA small gasp left my lips, my chest rising and falling. The pain from him pinching my nipple caused my whole body to hum.How we had gone from warm to cold, to hot now, was beyond me.And of course my body always responded accordingly.I mean, how could I not? When he literally stood there in nothing but boxer briefs that did nothing to hide the very obvious outline of his cock.Luca spun me around, bringing my bum to press firmly on his hardness. He raised my hands over my head, and guided me to the wall where he laid my palms flat. "Don't bring them down, no matter what." He murmured gruffly."I nodded helplessly, quickly getting overcome by lust. He could command me to lift a car now, and I would have done so. "Okay." I answered.Luca spanked me, hard. "Okay... what?" He asked, lifting up my night wear to expost my bum to the cool air.I racked my brain, trying to understand what he meant, and shuddered when I remembered his words earlier. "Yes, Sir." I quickly offered, and w
ELENAI woke up to sunlight. And the feel of a very warm hard body behind me.I blinked, confused as hell.Where was I? And why did it smell lie delicious spicy male colgne?I jerked as my instincts kicked in, trying to move from the body, but was kept in place by big arms that wrapped around me like a cacoon. Huh?"You are finally awake?" Luca's gruff baritone vibrated down the length of my back. I gasped at the sound, wondering why I was in this position. And it felt so good."What happened? Why am I here?" I was enjoying his warmth too much, and all thoughts of leaving escaped my mind as he pulled me even closer."You passed out." he murmured close to my ears, "We rushed you to the hospital. You woke up on the way, then passed out again. Anyway, I decided to bring you home, since you can get better care here." I shut my eyes tight, remembering what had happened. The man... Samuel... me pulling the trigger, fully intending to kill him. I had never shot at a person before. I had bee
MATTEO I wanted to chase after that idiot, but refrained from doing so, and instead, focused on lifting a passed out Elena into my arms. My heart thudded violently, and the thought of anything happening to her, felt like someone was ripping me to shreds. Heck just knowing she had been in danger, had me shaking. When I heard the first gun shot, I had lost the ability to breathe. "Fuck!" Hakeem hissed, trying to wrap samuel's lower abdomen where he had been shot. He was losing a lot of blood, and we needed to get to the hospital and quick. I picked Elena's gun, and got into the car, refusing to let her out of my arms. That was where she belonged. Hakeem helped a still conscious Samuel into the passenger's seat of the car, before starting the engine. I shot a quick message so the area could be cleaned, and the vehicle towed away. "I'm sorry boss, but the car wouldn't start." His voice was slurred, from how weak he was getting. Even his eyes barely stayed open. "It's okay, Samuel.
UNKNOWN "I fucking told you to let it be. You will put us in trouble!" My brother's voice was too loud, even from the phone. I grunted, looking around the lonely street to see if anyone was in sight. It was a run down street, with hardly any soul walking through that wasn't a criminal or a drug addict. Even homeless people stayed away. Yet it is where I currently found myself in. I looked down at my injured hand, tying the cloth around the bullet grazing tighter, so as not to get any blood on the floor. It was more than a graze, and to think I was shot by my own man. Although it was a mistake. "You don't expect me to sit down and let Luca take my business deal from me." I bellowed. "I have worked hard... you and me both.. for the past few months, and next thing I see is his mole trying to sabotage me. No way in hell was I going to sit and let things slide." "Well you didn't have to fucking turn the casino into a bloodbath! Now we are banned, and if word gets around th
LUCA"Mind your business, Hakeem." I hissed, pushignback the passenger seat of my car so I could stretch my long legs. I didn't even want to ask why the chair was pushed forward in the first place because I knew I wasn't going to be pleased with the answer. We were currently parked outside of a casino, waiting for our informant to give us the go ahead on whether we should go in or not.According to him, the Casino was packed with buyers, and what other way to get things running, than playing a game or two with them. But there was a particular person I needed to see."Well, you have been looking at that phone for the past three hours, and I can tell you would rather be with her, then here." Hakeem said in a sing-song voice.Dante snorted form where he sat at the backseat."Shut up." I hated when he decided to talk. I preferred him professional to the t, as he actually mostly was. But sometimes, when he was in a good mood, he behaved differently. Like now."I mean, he's not lying." Dant
ELENAThe papers I was carrying weighed more than they were supposed to.Donavan hadn't been lying. It was true. All of it.My phone rang, shattering the silence in the car.Samuel looked at me through the rearview mirror when I didn't bother answering it and let it ring two more times.I eyed him, then turned my face to the car window, focusing on the passing buildings instead. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. Especially after what I had just found out.I hadn't been able to get through to Alberto, making me wonder where he had kept his phone."Are you alright, ma'am?" Samuel asked, making me look back to see him giving me a worried look through the rearview mirror."Since when did we start caring for each other, Samuel?" My tone was bored and filled with sarcasm. We never had discussions. It was always silent in the car. Sometimes, too silent.Samuel's eyes showed amusement and he peeled his gaze away, back to the road. "That's basically my job ma'am." His tone matched mine.
ELENA"I'm really sorry for the inconvenience." Dorathy Stevenson said with an apologetic look on her face. In her hands were numerous company files.I waved my hand. "Next time just make sure things are in order, to avoid pulling me out of the house like that." I replied, not really offended, just tired. When the door had opened, I hadn't been expecting to see my assistant panting like she had run a marathon. Although I won't be suprised she if she had.None of my father's shipments had gotten the approval to pass. We had had to act really fast. Now though, I was tired as hell and just needed to go home.Who knew that a last minute decision to wear snakers, was gonna save my legs from a lot of pain.I dismissed her and began sorting through the documents in my office. I hadn't had the time to do so, and had told Dorathy not to worry about them, preferring to do them myself.Nothing beat arranging your own document and knowing where you kept what.I was head deep in a box, when I felt
