Chapter 4

Selene’s POV

“What! What do you mean by that?! What’s wrong with my baby!” I rushed into the room, just to see the other healers standing with their heads bowed. They avoided looking at me.

“My Luna, she's in.”

“Speak up!!””

“She's in a coma, it's severe,” they muttered.

My world flashed before my own eyes, I watched my baby lay on her bed, unmoving, I could not believe it.

“Her treatment was delayed, there is no way we could help her that quickly.” One of the healers who stood beside me said in a muffled mutter.

“What’s going on here?” Natasha said in a whisper as she and Alexander walked into the room, I could not hold it anymore, she was the reason for the delay, I lounged at her.

“You are the reason! You bastard! It’s all because of you.." Throwing my hands mindlessly on her without any care if the healers were present to witness the charade or Alex, who was standing gallantly beside her, I grabbed her clothes.

“You caused it!” I slapped her again, Alex pulled me off her body, but I persisted.

“What’s wrong with you!” He yelled at me,

“What’s wrong with me? ! I should ask you that question because you are the dumb one here, you can’t see you are being played.” I yelled at him.

Shocked, he glared at me, threatening me with his Alpha powers, but I stood confidently and unmoving, unbothered by his threat.

“Yes! I said it Alex, she caused it. Can’t you see? Your daughter might not make it, Alex, she’s in a coma because of this woman.”

“She’s not my child,” he responded.

Speechless, I stared at him, “so you can stop the pretense now, Selene. Stop with the lies.”

“What do you mean by saying she’s not your child? How can you deny your own child?”

“Stop it Selene, How long do you think you were going to play him, huh? He knows she’s not his child, and she belongs to his brother,”

“What!”

First she took my husband, now she accuses me of adultery, not just with anyone but the alpha brother. She must be out of her mind, her excess lying had infected her mind so much that she couldn’t tell when her lie was unbelievable.

The alpha brother had been locked all this while, no one had heard from him for years; not even the alpha had seen his brother. How would I have slept with him? No one had seen him, he might even be dead for all I cared, he was never going to come back, and both of them knew it.

“You must be out of your mind for making such claims.”

"Oh, stop it, Everyone knows you had your daughter out of wedlock, and before you married the Alpha, you only claimed it belonged to Alex because you saw he had a higher chance of becoming Alpha, that’s all.”

“What?” I turned to Alex, “This can’t be happening, right? Don’t tell me you believe what she is saying?”

He smirked, “I always knew you were a slut; I just needed to prove it,” he uttered.

Shivers of flames ran down my body as I watched him pull out a paper from his pocket, He tossed it at me and said, "There’s evidence of your harlot behavior.”

I read through the DNA test on the piece of paper, which stated that Alex wasn't my child; rather, it belonged to his brother.

He believed a forgery written on a piece of paper, rather than the years I had spent with him.

“Alex, this is.”

“I don’t need your explanation, you can’t convince me otherwise that you are not a whore.”

“How about her life? You don’t care about her life?”

“That’s your burden to carry, not mine, and besides, you are no longer my concern as I am no longer interested in this sham relationship.”

His worrisome look was replaced with a smile, as he pulled my sister by her hands, he placed a kiss on her forehead.

“I have found my new mate, and true Luna, who would take care of my pack and bear me an heir.”

"Oh, Alex, you shower me with so much love.” She kissed him back, They were both giddy before me, like I wasn’t even present.

I refused to be rediculed anymore than they have already done, I squeezed the paper in between my hands, then stoned Alex with it.

“You are so shameless! Heartless and dumb,” I cursed.

“How dare you call your Alpha dumb!”

I stood my ground, with unfiltered rage as I shoved him, “You are shameless, I hate you! I hate both of you!” I shoved him again.

“After everything we have been through together, you toss it all away all because of this shameless lady who doesn’t even love you!” I shoved him again.

“So shameless!”

He pushed me away from him, “Don’t you dare lay your hands on me again; otherwise, I would have you beheaded,” he spat at me in disgust.

“I blame myself for having something to do with you, I have seen how worthless you are, you disgust me,” he spat again, this time directly on my face.

I watched him move over to her, holding her in his arms as he stared at her lovingly, “Besides, I have my gem here, she’s beautiful, smart, and loyal, unlike you.”

“You don’t even know what you are saying.” I stood up to my feet.

“You don’t know who she is!”

“Neither do you.”

I felt like I was about to explode, my body could not contain the rage brewing deep within me, I wanted to fight them, give them a scar for hurting me, and remind them that I wasn’t just useless and disabled.

But Alex was once again a step ahead, he stared at me with evil intent as he said the word that turned my life around.

“Selene Hawkmoon, I reject you as my mate,”

At that instant, my wolf felt paralyzed and decapitated, I held myself from falling, I would not let him see my cry anymore, I cleaned my eyes with the back of my palm.

“I, Selene Hawkmoon, accept your rejection” I responded. My wolf shivered with fright, it felt the kind of pain that made a person wish for death. First, we were criticized for being disabled. We found a mate and almost felt whole, only to be ripped apart every day for years.

“And for disrespecting your Alpha, I sentence you to life imprisonment in the darkest dungeon.”

I didn’t protest, I just stood still as the guards rushed in, then grabbed me out of the room.
