I woke up vaguely after a long sleep. I opened my eyes and stared at the cold gray ceiling. The sun shining into the room adds to the warmth. From here, I can zoom out and quickly see the atmosphere outside.

Everything was so peaceful, as if nothing had happened.

Like the pain I experienced was a nightmare, my hometown was not destroyed when I woke up, and my family was still as happy as never separated.

But I know it's all true, a catastrophic truth that has suddenly been glued to our heads. Although time has passed, the pain in my heart is still the same as it was then. Feelings of helplessness and despair enveloped me like a monster.

I tilted my head, tears suddenly falling even though I didn't want to; more than anyone else, I needed to be strong. My teeth bit my lower lip; I tried to swallow all the emotions down my stomach. What I have to do now is not sit here weak; I need to get out of here first to reunite with my mother and brother.

I sat up, the pain coming from the waves so suddenly that I shivered with pain. I must stop for a few minutes to adjust to my breathing; my body is sweaty despite the shallow temperature.

I glanced around and remained vigilant even though no one was there.

Where are those bastards? Will they arrest my mother and brother? Are they safe? Where's my father's body? And why am I in such a good room, not a stinking cell?

Suddenly, I discovered that I had a strange object on my body. A long chain squeezes my throat, connecting to two ropes at my wrist. The material isn't too heavy, but it's cold as ice; when it sticks to the skin, it feels like a cold burn.

I frowned at it once, I tried to contact Elise, but she didn't reply. What happened to her? Usually, a werewolf has his wolf; they will become companions and always be together no matter what.

Not having much time to think about it, I got off the bed with one foot and planned to sneak away when no one was around. Far from what I expected, There wasn't a single guard outside the corridor either. That made me even more suspicious.

"Stop! I also thought you'd settle down after everything, but you don't seem docile." A cold voice came from behind, sending chills down my spine.

This familiar murderous aura made me want to suffocate; without turning around, I knew it was Vincent, my sworn enemy.

"What do you want?" I turned my hateful gaze toward him without fear.

Vincent overlooked my insolence; he slowly walked over. Following his leisurely steps, I felt an invisible pressure on my chest, making me want to collapse.

"You seem to have no understanding at all. The chain that binds you not only impedes your movement but also binds your soul. You cannot contact your wolf again until the cuffs are released. But that can't happen because now you're a prisoner." Vincent's cold eyes fell on me. He was much taller than me and had to bend over when he wanted to look me straight in the eye. "What should I call you? It seems your name is Orabella?"

I didn't answer, holding my head high.

"Dear Orabella, does this mean you are running away?" Vincent looked at me expressionlessly; although he did not show any anger, it was enough to make the opposite person tremble.

Vincent just asked the question; he had no intention of hearing my answer. He mumbled to himself before I could speak. "I'm not going to stop you, but I've got some important news that I think you'd like to hear."

I stared at him; I don't know how I felt now. Disorder is the word that best describes it. I hate him, really hate him, but deep down somewhere in my heart, I still feel sad if I fight him.

'Damned! What am I thinking?' I scorned my thinking.

"Your brother has been arrested, and so has your mother. It seems they were all shocked by your father's death, and now they are being held under Clement's care. You wouldn't mean to piss him off, would you? You wouldn't expect him to be lenient without killing them?" Vincent coldly warned me, the corners of his eyes quirked up in the last sentence. "Don't look at me with such ferocious eyes that you want to eat me. I'm not the one who killed your father; why do you hate me so?"

"All of you are of the same type. They're all assholes who love to step on other people's lives. Have you ever put yourself in the victim's shoes?" I hissed, my eyes flashing with hatred.

Vincent looked at me for a few seconds; he shrugged nonchalantly. "Only the weak become victims. And I never become weak. So do you have an answer to your stupid question?"

I froze momentarily at Vincent's wild and arrogant words, then stepped back and pointed straight at him. "One day, you become a lost dog. I, Orabella Scarlet, I swear, if I live, I will kill all of you bastards. Wait there, Vincent Charles."

Vincent's eyes flashed with interest; he smiled amusedly and replied confidently. "I was wondering if I should keep you alive. But right now, I think yes. How can I order the killing of someone as interesting as you? If you have taken such a poison oath, I am also eagerly waiting to see the results. Rest assured, and I won't let you die the day you fulfill your dream."

I clenched my fist into a fist; if it weren't for him keeping my brother's and mother's life, I would have rushed to risk my life with him. Even if I die, I will drag him to hell, make him bow his head in front of my father.

"Where's my mother and brother?" I gritted my teeth and asked.

Vincent closed his eyes and leaned against the window as if enjoying the view. "I told you, it's under Clement's management. He's a madman; your brother and mother's life is hard to guarantee."

I hissed. "Bastard! What do you guys want?"

"Don't be mad; I'm not on his side. We have a purely cooperative relationship. I can ensure the safety of your loved ones if you listen to me. I require something to entertain; you're my slave or pet, right?" Vincent smirked.

This is the first time he smiles, but it's not heartwarming but a smile that carries death. "And conversely, if you leave now or refuse, your whole family's head will be hung on that tower tomorrow."

A few days later, the wound on my body began to heal. I lowered my eyes and touched the white cloth, the external wound had healed, but the injury inside my heart was not stopping bleeding.During that time, Vincent went to the hospital every day. Seeing him made me uncomfortable, but I couldn't do anything about him, so I considered him invisible.Vincent is also very patient, not showing any anger. "If you have recovered, go back to my house; there is no need for this little place anymore. Going back and forth every day, annoying."I looked up at him, my five fingers clutching the blanket. He was on our territory, took our house, and now he opens his mouth to say it's his home sounds easy.I smiled sarcastically, not saying a word.Vincent has no shame; he raises his eyes. "Is your old home. Do you think I'm good to you? I chose that house because I didn't want you to feel strange. Although it is a bit small, it is also immaculate."My blood boils, I look at Vincent with resentment,

"Do you want to go for a walk? I will take you away." Vincent raised an eyebrow.I shook my head and turned to look at him. "Where I want to go, you take me too?""Of course." Vincent agreed very quickly."I want to see Albert. He's not dead, is he?" I asked, still without any unusual expression on my face. But Vincent is an intelligent man; he quickly understood my current thinking. He comfortably wrapped his arms around my neck, and the corners of his mouth curved harmoniously, but I could still see the cruelty in his eyes. "I also think you want the moon or stars in the sky, and then you need to think for a while, which is too simple."I frowned momentarily and then reluctantly pulled the corner of my lips up. "Thanks for the help."Vincent was dumbfounded momentarily; his arm on my shoulder was also stiff, and he looked amused. "Did you just laugh?""Can't it?" I asked again.Vincent shook his head again and again; I rarely saw his sincerity. "It seems my work today was not wasted

After breakfast, Vincent also had to go out; before he left, he instructed the servants to stay and talk to me to be less sad."I'll be back in the afternoon." Vincent kissed me lightly on the forehead and got into the car.I watched until the car disappeared, then returned to the house and sat down on the sofa with a cold heart. I suddenly thought, if I had met Vincent earlier, how good it would be without animosity between him and me.But it's too late; he and I can't be together forever. In the afternoon, but Vincent didn't come back as he promised, I sat with my back against the window, looking out at the empty courtyard to the point of dismay. The sky is so cloudy today; it looks like it will rain. Wait a minute, and I'm back in bed; how stupid am I to believe Vincent's promise? I felt so funny and ashamed of my actions; I was there, just waiting to see him.Suddenly, from afar, an old car came running; I didn't know the brand, so I didn't realize what it was, only knowing that i

Alan clicked his tongue, casually pulled up his pants, and cast two fingers on Laura’s blade aside. "Don't be angry; I was just joking, trying to scare her away to be less stubborn; the Alpha wants; I didn't dare to act stupid." Seeing that Laura didn't believe it, Alan explained further. "Rest assured, and I know the great work. I'm not crazy to find death.""Best as you say." Laura's expression worsened, and she hurriedly pulled me up. "Quick, get her out of here.""Why go? Is the sound of an oncoming car Alpha Clement's person?" Alan raised his eyes and asked."Bastard, it's not Alpha Clement but Vincent coming here for your life. Get her to Alpha Clement quickly." Laura yelled.Immediately she fell silent, her whole body shaking violently.Laura's grip squeezed my arm until it was about to break; she seemed very scared. Just then, a group of people poured in; they were dressed in military uniforms, their faces as expressionless as statues.I thought Vincent came to save me but sud

I frowned at Vincent; this mental and physical torture was too cruel. Everyone knows that the men in the army are men of healthy age, they also require sexual relief, but the harsh conditions and military orders do not allow it. They were like a bunch of animals clutching their hungry bellies, and Laura was the hot piece of meat. Such delicious bait appeared before him; who could resist its allure?"By the way, kill her mother and younger brother; tidy up." Vincent's cold voice continued to echo above my head, making me shiver.I subconsciously squeezed his hand; I heard my voice go away. "You promised Laura you would spare her family; why change your mind now?"Vincent looked down at me, his eyes still calm and unwavering, but his words carried a strong smell of blood. "You are the woman I choose; whoever dares to touch you, that person must use his life to make up for it."With that said, Vincent leaned over and picked me up in his arms, and stood up. Strong footsteps left the aband

I assumed everything would settle down for a while; at least I had more time to prepare a rescue plan for my mother and brother. But my only peaceful days were soon ended by the appearance of a girl.As usual, I changed my clothes and prepared to go out with Vincent; he said he would take me on a picnic and prepare snacks himself. It's been a long time since I've been out for a breath of fresh air. Usually, following Vincent, I hang out in fancy restaurants or noisy casinos, rarely experiencing natural relaxation.Suddenly I heard the sound of arguing reverberating in the living room, a girl's voice. I don't care about his private affairs; I want to stay in the room and wait for him to settle it; I will go there later. But there are some things that I can't avoid. The door to my room was suddenly flung open; in front of my eyes appeared a woman wearing a tight black dress, highlighting every curve, but why was the abdomen a bit different? I looked down at Aboli's slightly padded belly, feeling somewhat pained. Whether that child is Vincent's or not, it will lose its mother after birth. I hesitated to warn Aboli but suddenly remembered that my family's safety was also in Vincent's hands. Being with him for a while, I also understood his callousness; he hated those who did his will, and I did not dare to play with my family's life.Aboli saw me staring at her belly and narrowed her eyes warningly. "If you're up to something, leave quickly; if you touch this baby, Vincent won't forgive you."I raised an eyebrow but didn't deny it. This she's right; Vincent won't forgive me if I hurt his children; I'm just an outsider anyway, no matter what. I have heard Vincent is cruel to the world because all his tenderness has been given to his brother and sister."Rest assured; I have no intention of doing anything to your child," I said and then glided past Aboli; going up the stairs, I looked back at her high heels, reminding me. Thinking that, I hurriedly ran downstairs; simultaneously, the servant was carrying the tea tray upstairs. Seeing me, she quickly put the tray down the stairs, reaching out to stop it. "Lady, where are you going? The boss told me to watch over you, not to let you go out to avoid affecting the wound."Did Vincent premeditate the people here to watch over me? Was he determined to kill Aboli?I mused for a few seconds, trying to sound as natural as possible, nonchalantly speaking. "I just want to go out and get some fresh air so it won't affect the wound."The servant's expression didn't change; it was still a stiff fake smile. "No, ma'am. The boss ordered I dare not disobey. Moreover, it is still sunny outside at this time. Unfortunately, you have a heat stroke; I know how to explain it to the boss now. I'm just a short servant; please don't force me."I frowned, and suddenly, a cry for help fell into my ears. The servant who had been expressionless just now couldn't contain her fear, a

No matter how bad life is, I still have to live. I can't abuse myself, and I can't let myself fall. I don't want to see Fayre gloating and happy. I had to find her, and I wanted her to experience the pain she caused Edward.Every day, I go to the hospital several times. But I still remember when you used to take me out to build a snowman; it was very beautiful, huge..." I suddenly stopped, feeling sad; all the beautiful memories for me seemed blocked by a door, and I didn't dare to step through.Suddenly, a man's hoarse voice rang out in the quiet room. "Orabella..."At first, I thought it was Vincent, but then I discovered it wasn't.I

Even so, tears still rolled down my cheeks.According to what I saw, I was brought home, and a familiar room met my eyes, and the natural floral scent I liked the most. Everything is so normal that I can imagine it clearly with my eyes closed. However, my heart is empty, and I have lost the most crucial thing in life."Edward…" I whispered, my mouth dry and my tears falling like rain again, my chest constricting as I remembered what he had endured.A bloody Edward appeared before my eyes, his face pale and groans of pain.I reached out, wanting to touch it, but the image immediately disappeared. I smiled bitterly, and it turned out it was just my imagination.Just as I wanted to sit up, the door opened again. A face so familiar that I hated it appeared in my sight. Unable to wait any longer, I rushed to the slave camp E. The soldiers bowed to their sides in greeting and seemed terrified at my sudden appearance. I passed them and went all the way down to the torture room. I could smell Orabella's blood from afar, and my steps became more urgent. My eyes were wide open; I couldn't believe what I saw was real. It made my heart ache like a thousand knives were stabbed.Without waiting for my order, the people behind me quickly opened the cell door.I rushed inside, hugging Orabella's limp body, who had passed out after being brutally tortured. My hand trembled, and I didn't dare hug her too tightly for fear of hurting her. My stomach tightened when I saw the wounds all over her body. The smell of blood quickly spread everywhere, causing pain in my chest. I lowered my eyes, trying to hold back the tears that were about to overflow."Orabella, please wake up," I whispered, my voice was so weak.Blood ran down my arm as I carried Orabella to the hospit

Vincent:I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night. I sat on the sofa and ran my hands through my hair. This feeling of loneliness makes me highly uncomfortable. Even though she left here long ago, I can still smell Orabella's scent in the air. For some reason, I have a terrible feeling about something.Hesitating momentarily, I dialed Oreballa's phone number but never pressed the call button. Initially, I told her we needed time and space to be more comfortable. But now it's only been three hours, and I've broken my promise again; how bad am I in her eyes?I sighed and put the phone down. I couldn't sleep again that night. I couldn't stand it anymore in the morning, so I went home. I don't care what Orabella thinks of me, but until I see her safe, I probably won't be able to focus on anything for the next week.Thinking about it, I drove like flying home.As soon as I parked the car in the yard, I saw Fayre's shocked face. "You dare slap me?""Not only slap, I can kill you if you dare touch my brother again," I replied loudly without fear. Our eyes met for a few seconds, and Fayre's eyes were filled with utter fury. I smacked her once before without restraint, and Fayre said she would kill me if it happened again. And this time, her words came true.Fayre's eyes reddened, and she roared in command. The night wind blew colder and colder, and I pulled my oversized jacket over my body, this shirt Vincent gave me with a thing. I reached out my hand to touch my pocket; the palm of my hand conveyed a cold feeling like a cold burn. A gun with real bullets inside makes it easy to finish anyone. When Vincent gave it to me, I was surprised and asked him. "Aren't you afraid I'll use it to pierce your heart?"Vincent casually smirked. "If you can afford it, I won't stop you. But before you do anything, you must consider the consequences, the benefits, and the harms."I gripped the gun in my hand, then turned towards him, my index finger trembling, but eventually had to put it down. Vincent's lips smiled calmly as if my actions were all part of his calculations.I sighed, frustrated at my weakness. I was violently thrown down in front of Vincent's door; in pain, I heard a knock on the door, and then the group of men quickly disappeared. His eyes darted over mine, including a few glints of unspeakable astonishment. There was only an awkward and suffocating atmosphere between us.After a minute, Vincent stooped to help me up. He helped me untie and remove the towel from my mouth, coldly throwing it in the trash. My wrists and legs were red but red due to being tightened by the rope; I frowned and rubbed it a little to relieve the pain. But at the same time, I can't forget the reason why my family fell into the situation today, and I can't forget the feeling of falling from heaven to hell; I can't forget where my unhappiness comes from, much less forget what made me change into a completely different person.I remember I used to like to laugh. Seeing her like that should have made me very happy, but why do I feel uncomfortable in my chest?I suddenly remembered Edward; before, every time I did something wrong, afraid of being discovered by my parents, I would hug his arm tightly to coax him; if not, I would cry bitterly. I know Edward is most afraid of seeing my tears, knowing his weakness, so I always use that method to force him to lie for me. Although Edward often found out I was faking, he still indulged me unconditionally. Because of Edward, I have never been afraid of anything because I understand well that no matter what terrible things I do, there is someone behind me ready to support me.Remembering some old things makes me unable to help but feel bitter when I remember the present. Edward's cold, emotionless face popped into my head, tightening my chest. I looked up at Vincent; Edward and Vincent's faces interlocked. They are utterly different in every way, but they have one thing in common: that is hugely loving
