2024-10-29 19:42:56Horatio had finished packing the last of his bags when he heard a knock at his door. He reached for his gun and took off the safety. He took slow steady steps to the door and peered out through the peephole. He frowned when he didn’t see anyone standing there. He moved to the side and pulled back the curtain. Looking out the window he didn’t see anyone in the vicinity.
He frowned as he took one last look out the window. He pulled the curtain shut, reholstered his gun, and grabbed his bags. He peered out through the window one last time and bolted through the door. He ran to his car and threw his bags inside.
He hopped into the front seat of his car and threw it in reverse. He backed out of the parking lot and took off down the highway putting as much distance between him and Bernard and his insane quest.
