Aurora's POV:
"The Djinn, why him? He's a demon," I surprisingly ask her. I still couldn't believe what I just heard from Erythaea.
"He's not just any ordinary demon. He is the type of demon who doesn't care about anything or anyone. He grants wishes regardless of who is the caster as long as you pay the price he requires. He has no master but the one who summoned him," she clearly explains to me.
"Are you sure, we can trust him not to betray us and sell us to the Demon King?" I inquisitively inquire. "I have to be sure because we are talking about Aria's safety here," I reluctantly added.
"I understand your concerns and I cannot guarantee that he can be trusted as well, all I know is that once you agreed with the Djinn he will do anything you ask him to do no matter what the odds. That's how the contract works with him," she frankly said to me without hesitation.
<Aurora's POV:Everyone waits for me to speak..."I wish for you to take Aurora to a man named Clarren he is in the St. Luke's Medical Center in Crescent Hill Valley unharmed. That means you have to protect her and guard her with your life no matter what.""Is that it?" he confusedly asks me."Aria, come here," I called out her name. Freya was with her and guarding her the whole time while we are busy negotiating with the Djinn. Aria immediately walked toward me when I call her name. "I want you to go with Mr...""Dylan, my name is Dylan," the Djinn immediately said. "Hello little missy, I am Dylan your tour guide and we are going on a trip," he politely said to her."Grandma, he is not a human. I'm scared." Aria holds on to my waist tightly. She doesn't want to let go of me. "Don't be afraid. He is not going to hurt you. He is here to protect
Aurora's POV:My heart is shredded into pieces as I watch my poor Aria leave the tower. She is too young and innocent. She did not deserve to live a life of being hunted and hated. All I have to do now is pray that she would make it to Clarren and have a chance to live a normal life as I promised to her parents."I know it's hard to let go, but it's for the future's sake. If it makes you feel better, I will tell you one of my visions," Erythaea softly speaks. She leans closer to me and whispers in my ear. "You will meet her again here in this place before she reaches her eighteenth birthday. Let this be our little secret."My heart was filled and overflowed with joy knowing that I would meet her again. It means the Djinn will succeed in his mission. All my fears and worries washed away. I just need to focus on my final wish."I still have one more wish," I said to her.
Aria's POV:I couldn't believe that Dylan was the one responsible for the death of my grandma. I keep my head down and couldn't look him in the eyes for I am ashamed of myself for causing all of this. If it wasn't for me, my grandma wouldn't be forced to make those wishes. I saw Dylan staring at me in disbelief. Is he thinking the same thing?I never expected that our paths had crossed before. Could it be fate and am I destined to be with him? So many questions are bombarded inside my head and all of these revelations are creating more confusion rather than clarity."Aria, I didn't know and I don't remember anything. Please believe me," he desperately said to me trying to explain. He must be afraid that I would hate him for being the Djinn and for taking my grandma's life. I don't know how to react, and I can't utter a single word."You have to believe him, my ch
Dylan's POV:Flashes of memories came rushing in on me like adrenalin pumped into my system after I granted Aria's second wish. Everything happens so fast, and all of my memories became so clear as if they were only yesterday.Flashback six years ago...I remembered when I took Aria away from the tower and was riding at the back of my hellhound. She was trembling in so much fear her body went cold with dread. She was holding onto my arms so tightly that she must have forgotten that I was a demon.Suddenly, we heard thunder not too far from us and flashes of lightning that almost hits the ground. A huge formation of black clouds coming in our direction and that only means one thing, we are being followed and he is on his way to get her.I decided that it was better for us to travel on foot. My hellhound has a distinct force that when it e
Dylan's POV:"I know how to defeat the Demon King" Aria seriously said. She must have remembered everything about her past and how she was able to defeat Barbas."You cannot use that power again," I strongly advise her. "You almost got killed the last time you used it," and reminded her."But Dylan, that's the only way I can defeat my enemies. It is riskier if the demon inside me took control over my body," she worriedly said.To be honest, she is somehow right. The demon inside her was too powerful, and she is finding it hard to control it, while she can control the power of the light but the problem is that her body cannot withstand its enormous power."She possesses the power of light and darkness but is unable to control it," Erythaea said."Your body cannot withstand the power of the light because you no longer have
Aria's POV:I watch Dylan leave the room. Now that everyone is gone, I'm left with a broken heart and dry tears. I need to stay strong for everyone's sake. I swore to my parents and my grandma that I would set things right and make them proud of me. That's what I'm going to do. I will end this war between the two realms."Let's go Aria. I will show you something," Erythaea spoke softly. She walks ahead of me, and I just followed her wherever she leads me. I noticed that we are heading toward the lower ground of the tower and I couldn't tell how far deep we are. All I know is that we've been walking for almost an hour going down to our destination. The more we go down the darker it gets. The temperature is rising and our lungs are full of moist air, making water vapor come out of our mouths."It's freezing out here," I utter with a trembling voice. Although I'm sweating like a pig, my
Aria's POV:Power corrupts innocent minds and can lead to a path to our destruction. It's neither good nor bad, but it depends on whoever wields it. With proper knowledge and guidance, our power can do good things with others. There are no limits to what we can accomplish with greater strength. But note this nothing is permanent in this world and that even our power has its end.Erythaea led me to another part of the tower. We remain quiet while walking to our next destination. I was too tired and exhausted to say a word. I just wanted to go on and proceed to my next task. We went to an empty white room with nothing on it except for an altar."You will start your training in this room," she said to me with a blank expression while we wander around the room. "This is the heart of the tower, and I want you to give life to this room." she casually said but in a demanding way."How am I
Aria's POV:Some people have no idea how beautiful the darkness is. Don't be afraid of the dark but fear what is lurking within it. We all have our dark side but don't ever let it control us, instead, learn how to turn on our light."I see that you've been talking behind my back," a deep-toned voice spoke with me telepathically. Achlys' voice is older and louder compared to Lucy's. She is calm and subtle.I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up with his presence, but I try to remain calm and keep my composure."Don't get too over-sensitive. I was just asking about you since I haven't felt your presence earlier," I said in my defense, and we started to converse telepathically. "I need your help. I want to learn more about you and your ability," I requested him.Although I feared him, it's undeniable that I also need him to defea
Dylan's POV:The ray of light was beaming through the small window. I can feel the warmth of the sun and slowly open up my eyes. My body was sore and stiff when I tried to move. My head is heavy, and my vision is fuzzy trying to see where exactly am I."Dylan, you are finally awake."I heard a familiar voice and when my vision started to get clear, it is confirmed that it was no other than Freya who is standing in front of me and looking down at me."Where am I?" I asked her feeling confused and disoriented. "Where is everybody?" I force myself to stand and sat on the bed. "Where is Aria?"I look around me trying to find a familiar face. I realized that we were back in the fortress of Silent Willow forest."Dylan, you need to stay calm. You have sustained severe injuries in your body, and you need to get more rest," Freya tries to change the
Aria's POV:I regain consciousness and found myself lying on the marble pedestal in the middle of nowhere. I noticed that all of my clothes were gone, but I didn't feel cold. There's a lush warm sensation within me. There is no pain in my body and no wounds or scar. I feel light as a feather and no heavy feeling or burden is weighing on me. I never thought that I was going to experience this euphoric feeling and tranquillity in my life. There is a rainbow of emotions at my disposal and yet, why do I still feel empty?"Am I dead?"That's the first thing that comes to my head. I don't feel threatened or worried and sense no harm. I get up, sat down on the pedestal, and look around me to see my surroundings all I can see was a bright light of infinite nothingness."Where am I?" I whispered to myself.I walk around trying to figure out what is going
Dylan's POV:Death is inevitable. I heard those words from Aria when we first met and trick her into making her first wish. We will all die anyway. She said it without a flinch. Aria is not afraid to die at that very moment because she felt that she has no reason to live and it is easier to accept death. Knowing that there's nothing to leave behind. That was before we found love. Now we are all gathered here on this battlefield fighting for our lives because we wanted to live. Ironic isn't it? There are moments like this when I wanted to give up and give in. Surrender to the darkness because there's nowhere to go. I feel trapped and lost with no hopes left in me, but when I think of Aria. No matter how difficult the situation is, I just can't let go of the possibility that one day we can be together living a normal and peaceful life. That small chance, a glimpse of hope, and the possibility are giving me enough strength and
Dylan's POV:"Dylan, wake up!"The agonizing pain in my head awakened my sore body. The stench of a thousand burning corpses fumes all over the place. My lungs were congested with thick smoke from the fire giving me non-stop coughing and difficulty of breathing."Dylan, wake up!"I heard it again. Someone is calling my name. "Where am I?" I confusedly said to myself. "Am I dreaming?" Still confused about what is going on with my surroundings and me."Geez, he lost it. Try to shake him or something." I heard another voice talking to the one who is calling out my name.My vision was still hazy trying to figure out what had happened. I tried to get up and look around me, then I saw Emann rubbing a piece of cloth on my forehead."Your head is bleeding try not to move too much," she softly said to me wh
Dylan's POV:This is it. The beginning of the end and the war will lead to the downfall of the Kingdom of Hell. I should feel excited that finally, it would be over, but I can't deny that my feelings are somehow divided. I am afraid and feared for the safety of Aria and the rest of the squad who will fight against the most powerful demon. There is thunder roaring like a beast outside the fortress. We are all startled upon hearing the eerie sound and decided to take a peak from the small opening of the fortress to see what is going on outside. We saw a huge thick red cloud from where the thunder came from, heading to our location. Unlike the dark cloud already covering the entire third stage of hell, this one brings acid rain, which is as red as human blood, and very destructive lighting that annihilates everything it touches. The cloud and storm are just a diversion. We are pretty sure that demon soldier
Dylan's POV:A great philosopher once said that if you want to succeed in life then your desire for success must be greater than anything else. There is no room for failure. I may be turning back into a human being, but I am still a demon and I will do anything in my power to get Aria's wing no matter the odds. Even if it means I have to return to my old ruthless self again.I let Aria, and the others go outside the cave for I don't want her to see the monster in me. I love her and I am afraid that she will resent me if she witnesses my true nature. It took me almost an hour before I finally reached the exit of the cave and everybody is waiting patiently for me to come out of the cave.As expected, there are all busy fighting the orcs. They are doing their best to hold their ground while I was busy negotiating with the Queen of the Damned."What took you so long?
Dylan's POV:"Yes," Aria's quick response to my proposal. "Yes, I will marry you, Dylan Lockey!" she repeats her answer will all sincerity and a rainbow of emotions at her disposal.Everyone releases an audible sigh and forcibly claps their hands to show support for our engagement. They don't want to ruin the moment, so nobody said anything to contradict the happy scene.I stood up and inserted the ring on the fourth finger of Aria's left hand and just now realized that it was no ordinary ring. The size is adjusted to the finger of the owner of the ring and the color of the gemstone changes depending on Aria's mood. Aria looks very impressed with her ring. I can see the wide smile on her face and the sparkling look in her eyes."Do you like it?" I asked her even though I already knew the answer, it is still good to hear her say those words."I love it," she quick
Dylan’s POV:We are busy testing the powers of the silver fox when a group of angel soldiers arrived on the scene. One of them is dressed differently from the rest of the military troops and from what I can tell, he possesses the highest rank in the military. His armor is gold-plated, unlike the others who wore silver armor. He carries badges that are pinned on his armor which stated his achievements from the previous wars. He wore a crimson red robe that I think serves no purpose but he did look so damn cool with it as if he is really in authority and has the power to control the situation. His wings are equipped with titanium blades with magical spells on them. The spell appears to be a demon-cleansing spell similar to the spell that was engraved on all of their weapons. Weak types of demons are vulnerable to this kind of weapon. They don't have enough power to deflect the effect of the spells. H
Dylan's POV:Despite our best effort to control the situation in the Southern Hemisphere, the demons are getting closer to the barrier, and more human lives are becoming casualties of war. Night and day the phoenix couple has stayed up on guard to ensure that nobody else gets hurt.Over the years, demons have learned how to disguise themselves, walk and live amongst humans. They have increased in number and are smarter than ever. Like me, they have learned how to hide their powers so that demons and angels cannot detect them. Hiro, Emann, and I were in charge of evacuating the humans and taking them to a safe place. We find it hard to identify the demons and the humans for they all look the same."Hiro, check everyone before you take them to the safe house. We can't afford to let a demon in the headquarters," I reminded him."I can't detect which one is the demon and which one is hum
