Chapter:05: Mass Murder:

“Don't you think you are talking too much for a person whose end is near?” 

The voice said from behind and everyone turned their gazes to the sources of the voice, and their eyes landed on a man.

“Who is he and why is he dressed like that?”

“Gosh! He looks so awful”

 “Is he a demon? What's going on around here?”.

They whispered in hushed voices.

He was armored and the looks in his eyes spelled danger. At the sight of him, the guests began to quiver in fear and no one dared to utter a word at that moment.

Master Nicholas and lady Elizabeth looked in the direction of the man as well. However, the expression on their faces showed that there was something wrong with the appearance of the man.

Mandy and Alana simply looked around, all clueless about who the man that intruded the party was.

“Nicholas, you have become too much of a talkative that you didn't even bother to invite your beloved brother to your little princess's party. How about that is!”  The name exclaimed and took a step forward.

The moment he did that. Everyone shuddered in fear and no one could move their body.

The appearance of the man was so terrible that children would ruffle and hide in fear if they lay their eyes on him at this moment.

He was dressed in a roguish outfit– He looked dirty and black from all years of dirtiness. He had one of his eyes covered with an eye patch– a black eye patch.

When he opened his mouth to speak, a long and sharp tooth appear at each corner of his mouth, giving him  the look of a monster.

 “What the hell are you doing here, Navaro? You shouldn't be here!” Nicholas screamed at the man, who wore an indifferent expression and simply smirked at his outbursts.

“Of course, I should be here. After all, it's my princess's birthday.”  He said with a calm tone. 

The tone of his voice might have been calm and calculated. However, it carried a different meaning behind it.

“Take your filthy love and get out of here right now, Navaro. I told you, you have no business being here”  Nicholas was beginning to lose his cool and it felt like all the control he had was being let loose.

 Navaro chuckled with an evil smirk on his face, and then he said.“Oh, Nicholas, Nicholas. You never learned, do you? I should be the one telling you to leave this place because have come back to rightfully claim what is mine after twenty years”  He said as he took a few more steps with each stepping announcing the looming danger.

“What the hell are you talking about, Navaro? You have nothing to come back to. You have no right to barge into my property and lay a claim for anything here”  Nicholas shouted at the top of his voice.

“Ummm, it smells like a human in here!”  Navaro narrowed his long nose and sniffles the air. He felt a grumble in his stomach and he licked his lips hungrily.

The look in his eyes suddenly changed from what it was earlier into a more fierce one.

Then, he turned his gaze at Nicholas.

  “Oh, you think I don't? Is this a joke to you Nicholas? Sadly, you won't live long to fight for the rights anymore. Such a poor little thing!”  he mocked and burst into sarcastic laughter. His loud voice rents the air and the people shudder even more.

No one knew what was so funny that got him laughing so hard.

The man was an iffy one. You could tell.

Suddenly, he stopped laughing and looked at the guests, scrutinizing every one of them before issuing an order.

“I could tell you all have a desire to live. So, I'm giving you all a chance to save your lives before this wrath of mine gets out of hand!”  He said pointing at the already shuddering group of people.

“Leave before I changed my mind!”  he screamed and everyone began to scramble for a chance to run out of the hall.

      “Navaro, what are you doing? What are you chasing the guests away?”  Elizabeth asked with a pensive tone

“Oh, little woman! It's because there won't be any more parties in this mansion, and also there no be you, to begin with” he shot a glare at the woman with a sneakily smile.

“And oh! You all shouldn't make the mistake of calling for the cops, if you try it, it won't end well for you all”  Navara said once he noticed that some of the people were attempting to call the police. His words were directed at the people and everyone instantly stopped.

His back was turned to them initially. However, he swiveled around to issue the warning with his eyes gawking into every one of them as if he wanted to pull out their souls from their bodies with the looks in his eyes.

 The look was so terrifying that they nodded aggressively.

“Leave now!”

Everyone began to run out.

Just then as they scampered and struggled to get a foot out of the mansion. Some of the guests began to murmur amongst themselves.

“I told you it was a bad idea to come to this party!”

  “What a narrow escape that was !”

   “Who was that monstrous-looking man? And why did he barge into the party like that, catching us unaware.”

“So glad, I'm still breathing! I won't come to a party like this ever again”.

  

 “Me neither!”

After everyone has left. Navaro returned his gaze to the family.

“Navaro, what do you think you are doing? Why are you doing this?”  Nicholas asked with an exasperated tone and the looks on his face were suddenly filled with worries and fear.

“I'm doing what I should have done a long time ago, I didn't have the chance, or I didn't take the chance then but now I will do everything that you all started back then”  He hauled loud voices at them.

“ Security! Security! Get this crazy man out of here!”  Nicholas called.

“Too bad, they won't be able to hear you. I already took care of them before. Don't bother wasting your strength, you will join them soon”  

He let out dry laughter and soon enough, his men began to troupe into the mansion.

 They were all armed with a dangerous weapon.

Mandy began to shudder in fear as she held tightly to Alana's hands.

  “Who is this man? Mom, dad? Why is he doing this to us?”  Mandy asked, holding onto Alana tightly. she was scared that the men might hurt Alana.

Both her parents didn't say anything, so she became agitated and yelled at the top of her voice.

  “Why aren't you all telling me anything? What's going on? Why is no one telling me anything?”

  “What will they tell you? And why would they tell you off their ills? Navaro interrupted, causing the young girl to freeze in her quest as her attention was instantly thrown at the man, who was ready to go to the extreme at any time.“ Come to your good uncle, he will answer all your questions ”

“Navaro, don't do anything to my daughter. Don't you dare hurt them!” Nicholas screamed.

“Looks like someone cares so much about their daughter. I'm so touched”

Hearing him speak, Navaro simply took a few, slow steps and stood right in front of him.

 He sauntered and found the unsuspecting man, who was still pleading.

“ Please, I'm begging you, don't you dare try to hurt my daughter” 

“And you think, I will listen to you? Who the hell do you think you are telling me that?” He asked with a grin on his face. Then, he went close to Nicholas and stood right behind him.“Did you listen to me when I said you should give up?” 

 With that, he lifted the dagger in his hands, and soon after a loud, flesh-piercing sound was heard from across the hall.

 He stabbed a dagger at master Nicholas.

Nicholas, who was oblivious and clueless about his plans couldn't dodge the attack on him and fell to the ground as soon as the dagger pierced his stomach.

“Nicholas!”

  “Dad!” 

Both Elizabeth and the kids rushed over to him and squat beside him with tears streaming down their cheeks.

“Dad! Please hold on. We will take you to the hospital now”  Mandy said as her eyes darted around the place in search of something.

“How will you do that little princess? Will you go again to your beloved uncle?”  Navaro asked.

    “Mandy, baby. I'm alright. Don't worry about me” 

  

  “Navaro please don't hurt my husband anymore. We already gave you everything you asked for even if it was again at the rules. We still went against the rules to save you”  Lady Elizabeth broke down in tears and begged.

“Save me? I wouldn't  have been in that situation in the first place if it weren't for the both of you!” He yelled angrily.

  “Why are you hurting my dad? What wrong has he done to you?” Mandy asked, raising her teary eyes from her dad.

“Oh, poor baby! You are so clueless!”  

The moment he said that he stopped the dagger deeper into lady Elizabeth's stomach and the hellish pain sent her crashing to the floor in agony.

Seeing this Mandy was completely shaken.

She couldn't understand anything at the moment and her head gave a few quick spins and she felt herself going to the floor, but a dorm hand soon caught her and pulled her toward her body.

  Alana held her tightly close to her body as they both looked at the struggling figures of both master Nicholas and lady Elizabeth.

When Navaro saw Alana holding onto Mandy, he let out a cruel and unusual laughter. Then, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

 He stared down at the lean figure of Alana and issued a warning.

“I remember asking every little rat in the house to leave. What the hell are you still doing here? Are you courting death by its tail? Do you want to die a miserable death with them?”  He asked. His expression was firm and serious. The wit in his hands was quick and fierce.

Alana refused to bulge and give in to his words. Instead, she wore a firm resolve and still held Mandy closely to herself. However, Mandy didn't want anything happening to her, so she asked her to leave.

“Lana, you should leave now that you have the option. Don't hurt yourself all for my sake, please go”  Mandy pushed her body and asked her to leave. Lana refused to give in and held Mandy close– Tears began to dream down her cheeks involuntarily.

  “I won't go anywhere leaving you alone. I can't go anywhere without you, Mandy!” Alana shook her shoulders and continue to linger around.

“Very well then. Let's see how firm your resolve is and how much you can take”  Navaro said and began to walk toward the girl. But, mandy quickly stood up and stand as a demarcation between the two of them.

   “Please, don't hurt her! She will leave just now, don't hurt her”  Mandy pleaded.

  “an, such a protective baby. Alright, I won't do anything to her but she will live to beg for this day!” 

After saying that, he turns around.

Just then, a voice came from the door.

  “Dad! I took care of everything” 

  

     “Good! Good! I know you could pull it off”  Navaro praised.

   “Nicholas, I thought giving you a painful death would a sweet revenge but a thought must cane to my mind...hmmm” 

   

 He crashed down and stabbed the dagger through his heart several times and Nicholas was left gasping for life.

   “Dad!”

“Master Nicholas!” 

  

  “Don't die on me, Nicholas”  Lady Elizabeth struggled and sat her groggy body up. Then, she took hold of Nicholas and tried to wake him up. However, he was gradually losing life and the struggle between life and darkness was being greatly fought in his subconsciousness.

The power of the dark world was soon overpowering the brightness of the light in his eyes. His world darkened.

 “Dad, stay with us. Don't go leaving us like this. We won't survive without you”  Mandy cried.

  “Oh you will! Happily”  Navaro said and pulled lady Elizabeth by hair. 

  He yanked her by the hair and took a step.
