I gasp when I hear the bells’ loud ringing, marking the end of class. I sigh while rubbing my sleepy face which I got from waking up from a short nap during Mr. Rick’s class. Luckily, it’s a discussion between partner so I don’t think Mr. Rick cares about one sleeping student whose partner is nowhere to be seen.
“Bye, Guys! Have a good vacation!” Mr. Rick exclaims as he waves at us from the door. I smile slightly while I rest my chin on my palm. It’s the end of today’s study but I don’t feel relieved. Annoyed, yes! I stare at the empty seat beside me.‘So, how should I contact this guy?’ I think to myself. I bet no one knows his number. Knitting my eyebrows, I try to think of something.“You’re not going home?” One of the girls in my class asks me. I jolt, nodding my head in reflex. She giggles. “Oh, ‘cos it doesn’t look like it since you’ve been staring at CainAfter I’ve gone back downstairs, I send Aubrey a text asking where she is and if she wants to go back together. I need to blow off some steam after dealing with Cain. I know Aubrey will be more than willing to do so. However, contrary to my expectation, I receive her text saying that she has something to do and can’t go back with me.I pout disappointedly but quickly brush it off. I have no energy to get mad again and rather go home to a nice soothing bath and a good book to read ‘till I knock off at midnight. With a plan in mind, I walk out of the school.Meanwhile, Aubrey has just finished sending Rosie a text before silencing her phone. Since the school has ended, the hallway is rather empty when Aubrey walks towards the school gate. Her friends have been waiting for her for almost twenty minutes now. “Hey! Sorry I’m a bit late.” Aubrey apologizes the moment she arrives before the girls.“Nah, it’s fine. We were
I stared at the light seeping through the window, leaving a line across the floor. It stings my heavy eyes making it ten times harder to open them. I bet I look like sh*t right now with sallow eyes, chapped lips, and pale face. Beside that, my heart hasn’t been able to shut up since last night. I can’t help but wonder if I’m really that nervous and why should I be? I sigh when I look at the time. It’s still early. Maybe a good bath will calm me down. So, I went ahead and fill up the tub before tossing a rose fragrance bath bomb and a bubble bar. The sweet flowery scent fills up the room as I lay myself inside for a bath.Perhaps it’s due to the atmosphere or the sensation itself, but it doesn’t take long before I plunge into a deep sleep. I feel somewhat relief for being able to nap after not sleeping at all last night. I’m not that familiar with Cain and it’ll be funny if I sleep on him.In the end, I’ve fallen a
I had dived right into a novel which Faith had been reading before I had come when I thought that Cain would be late. I’m the type of person who doesn’t pay attention to her surroundings when I’m reading. So, I didn’t notice his presence, meanwhile Faith was dumbfounded the moment she looks at him.To be honest, it looks sort of funny when Faith peers at Cain’s outfit. It’s summer and he’s wearing a jacket like a freaking genius. However, she has to admit that the boy emits the kind of attraction that’s capable of turning everyone’s head without an exception. And just by seeing him like this, it sends a jolt at Faith’s heart. Thus, it gets her so excited when she knows it’s Cain, the guy whom Rosie’s waiting for. It’s because he’s been looking around the moment he enters the library. When his eyes settle on the front desk, he looks for a while before heading toward Faith’s direction.
My mind is still in a daze after I have given my number to Cain. I don’t even remember spelling it. I only realize it was finished when he says, “Thank you.”“Here,” he returns my phone.“Ah, okay…” I subconsciously reach out to take it back. After that, we’re back to square one – strangers, or maybe not? But, we stay in silence with neither of us having any attention to speak. He merely props his hand under his chin while looking at the window to the view outside. There isn’t a hint of him leaving. For some reason, I don’t feel like breaking the silence either. Instead of feeling awkward, I find it settling like a cool breeze in the middle of autumn, as though we’re stargazing. Then, from the corner of my eyes, I caught on Faith smirking my way, giggling like a four years old. I flush in embarrassment. In the end, I decided to leave. However, before I can tell him, Cain speaks up first.
After we’re done with the food, we call for the bill. My pupils tremble when I see the total amount. This is the end. I should’ve known it would be expensive. Why didn’t my brain work before? I just obediently followed him to the restaurant. Nevertheless, I prepare myself to split the bill when Cain suddenly take away the bill and give the waiter his card.“Wait, I can’t let you pay!” I exclaim. It’s too expensive and I don’t want to be called a gold digger. If I can still pay, I won’t rely on someone else. I know that he’s rich since he lives in Bloomingdale. But, it doesn’t give me the rights to take advantage of that.“Don’t worry about it. I’m the guy anyway,” he says. I purse my lips at his chivalry that sounds more like gender stereotype.“So what if you’re a guy?” I’m unamused. He shakes his head in helplessness. “Never mind. Just take it
As I lay awake on the bed, I feel the trembling in my heart. A sweet tingling that I cannot ignore. His words keep replaying in my mind over and over again.“Then, get to know me better.”The corner of my lips unconsciously arch. Now, it’s simply a mission impossible to erase him from my thoughts. Every few seconds, Cain would haunt my mind and I will submerge into a daydream thinking about the way he looked at me, his blue eyes peering into my grey ones, and every line of his facial will pull into a soft smile.I think I might be going crazy soon if I don’t stop myself early. But then again, it doesn’t seem so bad to have Cain inhabits my head if I get to feel this happy. Everything seems to glow, sparkling like a giant box of jewelry. So, this is how love feels like. And not just love but mutual attraction. Like a double dose of martinis. It got me lightheaded and hovering in bliss.I look at the clock. It’s ten. I shou
This morning came with a warm sunlight seeping into the room. I didn’t pull my blackout curtain but welcome the day with a big smile. No alarm needed to stir me awake. I didn’t even linger on my bed for long but get up quickly for a good bath. Humming myself while I brush my teeth and swing my towel in a merry dance, then I saunter down into the tub, soaking my body in a fragrance bath. It’s rose bath bomb today with a bubble bar as a companion. While I enjoy myself with the bath, I put on some groovy music which I sing along to while blowing bubbles into the air. They float, filling every corner of my bathroom, from the ceiling to the floor. Thus, the moment I finish, everything has turned into a massive disaster. But, that is the least of my concern. In fact, I don’t mind cleaning it all up. After that, I didn’t stop for a casual outfit but goes straight towards the hanger where I put all of my fancy clothes. Most of them are dresses and co
“Morning, Gorgeous. You’re looking more and more beautiful each day,” Faith teases me. She winks flirtatiously. “Don’t tease me like that!” I say while blushing like a roasted crab.“What I said is true. You used to not care of your appearance and just roll with jeans and shirts. But, these days you’ve been very careful with your outfits. I love your present style. Keep it up!” She explains. I laugh. She’s really sweet.“Or perhaps, this is the power of love? I must say your taste is high. Your man is really manly and handsome. He’s hot.”Her comment makes me frown. “No, we’re not like that. But, you’re right about the handsome part. How did you know?”“You can pretty much guess it if you’re experienced in love. Sadly, you don’t have any. I wonder if you ever figure it out when you fall in love with him in the future.”Ba-thump.
“Are you me?” I ask. She tilts and then, smiles. She does look like me. But, she has more confident and somehow different.“I’m you.” She says. “But, I’m the truth.” I raise an eyebrow.“You’re the truth?” I ask as she’s saying something really weird. She giggles.“And you’re the lie.” She says.“You mean I’m a liar?” I ask. She’s terribly rude. If only she doesn’t have the same face as mine, I might have thrown a punch on her face.“No. Lies create you.” She says. Now, she gets me confused.“What is that supposed to mean?” I ask. She chuckles.“All you need to do now is wake up.” She says. I raise my eyebrows.“I’m awake.” I say. She shakes her head.“No, you’re not. Wake up.” She says as she walks closer to me. Then, she grasps my shoulders tightly
I feel really dizzy. My head feels like it’s going to burst out any second. I try to move my body but, it’s aching all over. I feel like my bones are cracking. (Sigh) I’m getting tired. Hmm? Cold?I try to feel my hand. My palm is touching something cold. Something is cooling my cheek down. I slowly open my eyes. A sharp pain comes into my head right when I try to move my eyelids. But, I don’t back down. I force them open. I have it hard just to open my eyes. Pity me.When my eyelids are fully opened, I move my eyes and blink deliberately trying to clear my vision. It’s blurry but, I can see a corridor and a couple of doors. I shut my eyes harshly and then, I open it again. A little by a little, my vision is clearing. I let out a long breath. A gas comes out from my mouth.I slowly get up. I sustain my body with both of my hands on the floor. Where am I? I think to myself. One thing for sure, it’s freezing in here and I was ly
Have you ever coincidentally fallen asleep on your desk? I bet you have. And that is not sexy. I feel a sharp pain at the back of my neck down to my spine. I want to move from my position but, I don’t think I can do it. It hurts when I try to move. I think the air conditioner has been cooling my skin until I catch a cold. This is absolutely lame.I shouldn’t have fallen asleep on my desk. Well to be exact, I shouldn’t have written my journal at night. What I mean by night is my sleeping time. If I want to write it, the least I could do is to write it while chilling on my bed.So, when my eyes close by themselves, I have already on my bed. Anyway, how do I move? That’s the most urgent question right now.I feel like an idiot somehow. My eyes are wide opened and I’m totally awake. But, here I am not moving just spacing out at my window. Well, I could be considered pondering but, I think Aubrey can see through me. So, I better try to f
Fire is raging in the valley at the both sides of the stone pathway. Voices of hatred and regrets are floating in the air. The cries from the deaths are echoing. The heat will be unbearable if Alexis was a human. Luckily, she’s not.She walks down the path like nothing is happening in the valley. She hums as she strolls with her hands on her back. She’s feeling very happy right now. So, the fusses of the deaths don’t bother her that much as before.Gradually, her steps become lighter and lighter. She bounces towards the gateway. Yes, the burning fire under the arch up ahead is the entrance towards hell. Alexis passes through the gateway and walks slowly to the edge of the stone path. She spreads out her black wings and flies into the air. She continues to hum as she looks at the scenery under her. It’s an endless pit with fire burning. There are some cliffs that she can stop at however, she keeps going. There’s really nothing to enjo
I wake up in shock. Cold sweats stream down to my body. I exhale a deep breath and wipe them off. I’m not quite sure what I was dreaming of to give me a shock. I look to the left. Aubrey is sleeping quietly while hugging a bolster. I sigh. It’s useless to wake her when she’s asleep.I get down from my bed and reach for the curtain. I take a peak from the window. The night has fallen and it’s raining quite heavy. It was sunny in the morning. I guess it’s still rain in the summer. I close back the curtain and make my way to the stairs.Although there’s the sound of television, the lights are off. I bet dad falls asleep on the couch while watching the TV. I walk slowly towards the couch. Yep, he’s there. I pick up the remote and turn the TV off. It becomes quiet. Only the sound of the ticking is heard. I look up at the clock. It’s pointing at ten.Crap. I must’ve fallen asleep in the afternoon to be able to wake up at
When the arrow disappeared between the dark clouds, the sky gurgles. Cain is startled by the sound of it. Altarria smiles when she sees her power is working. Bright circles with ancient symbols carved around it emerge on the sky. They are scattered to every corner of the sky. The downpour suddenly stops and everything becomes quiet. It makes Cain confused. He tries to focus his hearing but, nothing comes to his ear. Cain raises an eyebrow. Suddenly, loud sounds of thunders ring throughout the Judgment Road. Dozens of lightning strikes down from the circle. The Judgment Road is roamed by lightning. Rainstorm breaks off and all the lightning is striking down continuously. They destroy the buildings, the roads, and the ruins. They wipe off everything. Altarria smiles gloriously as there’s no way Cain could survive from this lightning. One strike and it’ll end his life. “Die!” She exclaims. She laughs happily. After a while, the lightning stops ho
The ruins are hindering his vision but, he’s sure that someone is walking towards him. He walks towards the wall and leans on it as he waits for that soul. He closes his eyes.‘Where’s everybody? This place is so terrifying.’A guy, he thinks to himself. Not his favorite subject for hunting but, it’ll do him fine right now. He’s kind of in a bad mood after reminiscing his past. So, anyone is fine. The footsteps are getting closer and a sly smile is carved on his face. He opens his eyes when he feels the soul is nearby. He looks at his diagonal and a young boy is walking with his eyes welled up with tears. Cain stares at the boy. He could see through the boy’s heart. He died without knowing anything. That makes him unwillingly died. He’s going to dwell here for the rest his life either way, he thinks to himself.Cain walks silently towards that boy and attacks him from behind. He pierces through his life source from behin
Cain ponders at the top of the building where he used to sit at. Wondering and staring at the Judgment Road seems to be his habit. Not a hobby. And definitely not in his top ten favorites to do list. He’s been looking down at the same view for over a hundred years and has been walking at the same world since he turned eight. He still remembered the first time his mom visited him, his real mom. She was beautiful and kind. The kindest woman he’s ever known. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he felt something strong like a bond. He was scared because her appearance wasn’t of a human. But, her smile sent warmth throughout his body. She didn’t force him to get close to her but instead, she let him came to her on his own accord. She came to see him every time Cain called out to her. They would spend time together until Cain fell asleep. Of course, he kept it a secret from his step-mother. It took a while but, Cain realized that she was his mom. H
I mean she has dragged me to watch it with her like a thousand times I think since I first knew her. Twilight is a great movie and don’t even mention the novels. I have all the series. Stephanie Meyer did a great job. She’s an incredible author. I like her works. So, yeah I like the movie. But, to watch it until you know all the lines. It’s pretty crazy. Well, Aubrey doesn’t memorize the lines but I do. It’s the result after watching it like a thousand times.Aubrey skips the beginning where an animal is being chased. I think it’s a bambi. Sorry, if I’m wrong. Before Bella even speaks up, I utter her line in my head. So, I can’t bring myself to regret the decision to leave home. I would miss Phoenix. I miss the heat, I think to myself. She says the exact same line. I’m cool, huh? I glance at Aubrey. She’s watching it like this is the first time she sees the movie. I sigh. Well, let’s just enjoy the movi
