Chapter 75: Bitter

It was bittersweet for Derrick to finally hold Lyra in his arms. He was pleased to see that she was alright, but he can't stop blaming himself for not protecting her well enough. He should've never left her side; he should always stay close to her. His mind won't let him experience silence. But at least they were finally able to comfortably rest. Coming home wasn't a problem; he was able to use his abilities to transport all of them back to his mansion. However, seeing how weak and traumatized they seem to be, it broke all their hearts.

Dame, a cold, emotionless demon, has never felt such pain in his heart as when he felt Rhian trembling in his arms. He sat on the couch, holding her closer to his body as she continued to sob. She must not even have realized how they appeared at the mansion within a minute, for she's still hiding her face in his chest. Zin was too weak to face Raine's cries. He chose to tap her eyes and make her fall asleep to save himself from being guilty. As soon as
