David’s pov
"Fucking bastard," I seethed. "How dare he betray me? Doesn't he know who I am? Find out where he is. I'll kill him myself." I yelled at Smith with anger.
"Sir, he took all the information on a pen drive," Smith informed me.
"Don't worry. Where can he go? Ha-ha-ha. He thinks he can run from me! I've planted a chip in each and every one of my men. I can easily locate that bastard. We have to leave for the cancer unit inauguration at one of our hospitals. I'll take care of him at night. Smith, is my car ready?" I smirked and asked Smith.
"Yes, sir," he replied while opening the door for me.
"Let's go," I said, taking my steps towards the car, and immediately left for the inauguration of my hospital's special ward. It was all part of my plan to gain sympathy from the general public, but I had a different, more sinister plan. I would do anything to maintain my innocent angelic image in society. Some people think of me as an angel, and others see me as a god.
But I am the devil. As I sat in the car, I couldn't help but let out a cruel smile.
Anna’s POV
As the woman lay in front of me in labor, I encouraged her through the pain. "Yes, ma'am, you can do it. Push... You can do it," I said, holding her hand tightly. Though childbirth can be a daunting experience, I wanted her to know she wasn't alone.
The woman's screams filled the room as she pushed with all her might. "You'll be a great mother. Push! Yes, your child is coming," I said, hoping my words could help her focus on the end result.
After just a minute, a beautiful baby girl came into the world, and I held her with a sense of awe and wonder. Saving lives, whether human or animal, always brought me joy. I couldn't believe I had helped bring a new life into the world.
As an intern, it was my job to clean the baby and hand her over to her mother. Seeing the joy on the new mother's face was an unforgettable moment, both for her and for me.
"Doctor Anna," the woman said, calling me over with a wave of her hand. "Thank you so much."
I smiled reassuringly. "Don't mention it. It was my pleasure. Be happy with your baby."
As I walked down the hospital corridor, I heard someone calling my name. It was Monica, my childhood friend and fellow intern.
"Hey, where are you going?" she asked, grinning.
"My shift is over, so I'm going home," I said, taking off my mask.
Monica put her arm around my neck. "Don't forget, we have to attend the inauguration of our cancer unit today. Mr. Carson is going to be there."
"Inauguration?" I said, caught off guard.
"Yes, come on. Mr. Carson is hot," she said, winking.
I rolled my eyes, knowing Monica was always talking about men. But I agreed to go with her anyway. Our goal was to impress the hospital administration and secure permanent jobs after our internship.
At the venue, there were media reporters and a crowd of people. Suddenly, everyone started to surround someone.
"Mr. Carson!" Monica screamed, grabbing my arm. "Oh my god, Anna. He's so hot and handsome. I wish I could have him in my bed."I felt so embarrassed that I almost going to turn around and hide my face, “Ohh Monica. Shut up. What are you saying? Are you out of your mind?”
“Anna, see him first then scold me.” She answered me with a heavy voice. I know I somehow offended her with my words.
In an attempt to make Monica happy, I tried to search for David Carson. However, the crowd around him was so thick that I could only catch a glimpse of his back. Despite this, I could see his perfectly toned body with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His formal suit accentuated his masculine physique. His black hair was sleekly combed back, and he wore a grey suit with a white shirt. Despite my efforts, I was unable to catch a glimpse of his face.
"Did you see him, Anna?" Monica asked impatiently, patting my shoulder.
"No," I replied, which seemed to disappoint her greatly. I wondered if not seeing this person called David Carson was a crime.
"Have you never seen him in a magazine or on TV?" Monica asked, surprised and open-mouthed.
I was getting irritated by her persistence. "No, Monica. I'm not interested in that kind of thing."
"What are you saying, Anna? I wish my boyfriend were as rich and hot as him."
"All rich men are playboys," I retorted, causing Monica to pause. Our in-charge nurse then stopped Monica from continuing the conversation.
"What are you girls doing? Today, Mr. Carson will be awarding a nurse from this hospital, and whoever receives the award will have a permanent job here."
"Really? Oh my god, that's great!" Monica exclaimed.
"Girls, go backstage," the nurse instructed.
"But I want to see Mr. Carson," Monica protested.
"Monica..." I interjected, grabbing her hand and dragging her towards the backstage area. The ceremony had already begun, and a group of nurses were waiting backstage. Monica dragged me to a corner where we could catch a glimpse of the stage, but we couldn't see Mr. Carson.
"Good evening, everyone. Tonight, we have our chief guest, Mr. Carson. We all know about his contributions towards society. Let's give him a huge round of applause, and we want to hear from him. So, here comes Mr. Carson," the emcee announced.
David stood up and buttoned up his suit before walking towards the microphone. "Good evening, everyone. I hope you are all well. Actually, I haven't done that much for society. There is still a lot that I need to do. I want people to be happy always. I donated money to build this hospital so that poor people can receive free treatment. And now, we are opening a new unit for cancer patients where they can receive free treatment. I do this for humanity. I hope people will be inspired by me and do charity in the future," he spoke.
The whole crowd went crazy, giving him a standing ovation and showering him with praise. I was backstage and could hear his deep, sexy voice echoing throughout the hall.
"Anna, Mr. Carson is speaking...ugh, how sexy his voice is!" Monica exclaimed.
"Monica, you are..." I trailed off, but deep down, I was impressed by his speech and his kind heart. He was truly a great human being.
"See, Anna? All rich men are not bad. He has a huge heart," Monica said.
"Yeah, yeah...I got it, Monica. You're just obsessed with him," I replied.
"Girls, now Mr. Carson will be awarding some of our nurses. Get ready," the in-charge nurse instructed.
Monica began to put on some makeup, as did all the other nurses. I just got annoyed and listened as they called each nurse to the stage, where Mr. Carson presented them with their awards. The nurses who had already received their awards were chatting amongst themselves.
"Did you see him? Oh my god, how could someone be this handsome and hot!
The girls were giggling there and Anna was hearing.
Anna's heart skipped a beat as she heard her name being called from the stage. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Anna... Anna..." Monica's voice brought her back to reality. Without wasting a second, Anna dashed towards the stage, her heart pounding in her chest. As she reached the stage, she stumbled and almost fell, but a hand reached out to steady her. She looked up and saw a handsome man bending over her, the stage lights illuminating him from behind like a divine being. Despite herself, Anna couldn't help but feel a flutter in her stomach as she gazed at him in amusement."Are you okay, Miss Clarke?" the man asked, concern etched on his face.Anna grabbed his hand, allowing him to help her stand up. "Oh yes, I'm fine," she replied shyly, trying to compose herself. As she looked at him, Anna felt a strange pull towards him. But she quickly shook off those feelings, reminding herself to stay focused and behave like a normal person. "No, Anna, don't be like other girls. Yo
Anna pleaded with David to spare her life. "Please don't kill me, for the sake of God, please let me go. I want to live. Have mercy on me. I know inside you are a good human. Please have mercy on me.""This bullshit will not work on me," David shouted, raising his gun."I beg you," Anna implored."You have to die," David repeated, his finger on the trigger. Suddenly, Anna went limp and collapsed to the ground. David caught her before she could hit the pavement. He inhaled her sweet scent of wildflowers and took in her delicate features - her eyes, her nose, her pink, soft lips. She was like a living fairy in his arms.David never killed children or women, but Anna was a special case. He was caught in a moral dilemma. Just then, two police officers appeared in the alley. David quickly concealed his weapon and picked Anna up in his arms."Who's there?" the officers called out, approaching the pair."It's me, David Carson," he replied."Oh, Mr. Carson, what are you doing here?" one of th
"Smith, this cretin is just too cunning. Keep a close eye on him," said David. "All right, boss," replied Smith. "Something must be done to keep his mouth shut." After finishing their work for the day, David went to a club to relieve his stress. He picked up a girl and took her home with him. Meanwhile, Anna had not eaten anything all day and spent the entire day crying in her room. Despite David's men bringing her food, she did not touch anything. Late at night, Anna noticed that two men were asleep in front of her room. She came up with an idea to escape from this place. Anna took out one of her hair clips and inserted it into the lock of the door. After a few attempts, the door finally opened. Anna took a cautious step forward, trying her best not to make any noise. She peeked outside and saw both of the men who had been guarding her room were sleeping soundly. Her heart racing, she began to slowly make her way towards the main house. As she walked down the dimly lit corridor
Andrew sat at his desk, poring over case files for the murder investigation that had been consuming his attention for the past few days. As he worked, his phone buzzed on the desk, signaling a new message. He picked it up and saw that it was from his sister, Anna."Brother, I came to a medical camp suddenly so you will not find me at home. Don’t worry, I will be back in a few days. Love you, Anna."Andrew couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Anna always kept him informed of her whereabouts, and this sudden change in plans seemed out of character for her."Maybe I'm just being paranoid," Andrew thought to himself. "But I haven't even showered in two days. I should head home."He gathered his things and quickly made his way out of the office.David spent the morning going through Anna's belongings, including her bag and diary. He came across a copy of "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen and couldn't help but scoff. "What a fool! Romantic books like these are a thing of th
Anna was almost home when she stopped the taxi and stepped out. Suddenly, she saw Smith standing in front of her and she became frightened, causing her face to turn pale."Mrs. Carson, the boss wants to speak with you," Smith said, handing her the phone."I'm not Mrs. Carson. Don't call me that," Anna replied firmly."Talk to the boss," Smith insisted.Anna reluctantly took the phone and heard David's voice on the other end."Hello, my dear wife," David greeted her with a devilish smile."Don't call me that with your dirty mouth," Anna retorted.Ignoring her response, David continued, "There's a car in front of you. Get in, and Smith will drive you to my home."Anna refused, "Are you mad? I already reached my home. I'm not scared of you anymore. I'm going to my brother's."David became angry and threatened her, "So you forgot what I said? If you enter your home, your brother will die immediately."Unfazed by his threat, Anna challenged him, "I'm entering, let's see what you do!"David
As Anna's brother stormed out of the room, Anna felt a deep sense of sadness and regret wash over her. She had always been close to her brother, and she hated to see him leave without even saying goodbye. As the tears streamed down her face, she ran to her room and locked the door behind her. Once inside, Anna made a beeline for the bathroom, still wearing her wedding dress. She felt dirty and ashamed, and the cool water of the shower seemed like the only thing that could wash away her pain. She sat down in the tub, fully clothed, and let the water flow over her. David, who had been watching the whole scene unfold, couldn't take it anymore. He burst into the room and saw Anna crying under the shower. His eyes blazed with fury, and he marched over to her and pulled her out of the tub by the arm. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he bellowed. "You can't just sit here and cry like this! You have to face the consequences of your actions!" Anna tried to pull away from him, bu
Anna felt a sense of confusion wash over her. On the one hand, she understood that David was asking her to play along for the sake of the press. But on the other hand, she couldn't help but wonder why he had pulled her so close and held her so tightly. Was it all an act, or was there something more going on between them? For a moment, Anna allowed herself to get lost in the feeling of being held by David. It was a strange and exhilarating sensation, and she couldn't help but feel a flutter in her stomach. But just as quickly as it had started, the moment was over. David released her from his grip and stepped away, a cool and professional look on his face. "We should get going," he said, gesturing towards the car. Michael Carson As Michael Carson read the newspaper, a cruel laughter escaped from his lips. As they drove to the restaurant, Anna's heart was pounding with fear and anxiety. She knew that this was not going to be a normal dinner date, especially with the way David had been acting. As they pulled up to the restaurant, Anna could see a group of reporters already waiting for them, cameras flashing and microphones at the ready.David stepped out of the car with confidence, looking like he owned the place. Anna followed behind him, feeling like she was walking towards her own execution. The reporters rushed towards them, asking all kinds of questions about their relationship and marriage.David answered the questions with ease, spinning the story to make it seem like they were the perfect couple deeply in love. Anna just stood there, nodding along and trying to look composed while her heart was racing with fear. One reporter called out to Anna, asking why she wasn't speaking and if she was unhappy with the marriage. David immediately turned around and gave Anna a discreet signal,
David's face twisted with anger as he glared at Anna. "Watch your words Anna," he spat, his voice laced with fury. "This is my home, and you are asking me to get out of my own room?"Anna felt a mix of anger and sadness well up inside her as she looked at David. She knew that their relationship was over, but she couldn't help but feel hurt by his words. A single tear trickled down her cheek, and she quickly brushed it away."Fine," she said, her voice cold and controlled. "I'll leave. Who wants to live in your hell, anyway? You and me in the same room? In your dreams, you monster."Anna turned to leave, but before she could take a step, David grabbed her arm with a force that almost knocked her off balance. She struggled to free herself, but his grip was too tight. In a sudden, violent motion, he pulled her towards him and pushed her up against the wall.Anna gasped in pain as her back hit the hard surface, and she felt a wave of fear wash over her. She had never seen David like this
As David lay there with the girl, he could feel her moving against him, but all he could think about was Anna. Her every curve, the smell of her hair, the softness of her skin. He couldn't stop the images of her flooding his mind, and he knew that he had to stop this before it got out of control. He looked up at the girl's face, but all he saw was Anna's face there. It made him more passionate, but it also made him angrier. He knew that he had to stop thinking about her, but he couldn't. As he continued to struggle with his thoughts, David's anger began to boil over. He couldn't understand why Anna had such a hold on him, and it frustrated him to no end. In that moment, he realized that he didn't want to be with this girl or anyone else. All he wanted was Anna. Without a word, David got up from the bed and began to put on his clothes. The girl looked at him with confusion and disappointment, but David didn't care. He knew that he had to leave before he did something he regretted. A
Anna sat in the back seat of the car, her mind racing with thoughts of escape. She had to find a way out of this marriage, but she knew that it wouldn't be easy. David was powerful and had connections, and he would do whatever it took to keep her under his control. As they drove in silence, Anna noticed that David kept stealing glances at her. His eyes were cold and calculating, and Anna could sense that he was up to something. She couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, knowing that she was at his mercy. Finally, the car pulled up in front of a large mansion, and David got out of the car, gesturing for Anna to follow him. She hesitated for a moment, but then reluctantly got out of the car and followed him inside. The mansion was opulent, with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and expensive artwork lining the walls. David led Anna to a large room, where he poured them both a glass of wine and sat down on a plush sofa. However, Anna declined the wine, much to David's disappointment
