"A Rogue? Who? What's his name?" I was all questions right now, mainly because Rosie was in tears.

"It doesn't matter! I'm rejecting him!" Rosie says, turning away and stomping towards her room.

I catch up with her, "Well, I did meet some of the Rogues; I might know who it is..."

"I don't care!" she shouts, but by the tears on her face, I was starting to think otherwise. I stop her and turn her towards me, "Look, I know your emotions are wild right now, but maybe there's an upside to this-"

"What?! Evette, he's a Rogue, an outcast! He won't be accepted here! The only reason Atticus was allowed back here without being questioned was because of Thane. We trust him, no matter how stupid we think his ideas are..." she grumbles her last sentence.

"Well, how did you guys meet? Did he try to hurt you?"

Rosie's lip trembles again, "No..."

I double-blink, "Then why are you going to reject him?"

"I-I don't know," she holds

~Rosie~ "Let me go! Put me down right now!" Being thrown over a shoulder was not how I wanted to be whisked off my feet. But, having a Rogue mate was something I had not expected either. "You wanted to test me, woman," Harvey says as he adjusts me on his shoulder. "You slapped my basket out of my hands, you jerk! Oh, and FYI my baking skills will make your knees weak!" So if anything struck a nerve with me, it was someone who dissed my baking. Suddenly Harvey stops, and I slid off his shoulder; as I looked around the forest, I started to get the creeps. "Why did you bring me here?" I ask; Harvey glances at me but quickly looks away. "Why haven't you rejected me?" Harvey asks with his fists clenched, "You have no idea what I've done," his voice strains I stayed silent for a second, knowing I was thinking of it moments ago, but upon talking to Evette, I wasn't so sure I wanted to do that. "I could ask you the same thing.

I GET THROWN FOR A LOOP when I feel like I'm settling in. Why didn't Atticus or Thane tell me any of this? Maybe they knew if they had, I would sort of flip the fuck out; well, that was too late. I wasn't fond of this dynamic between Alpha and Luna. It felt like a trap, just like a Queen to a King. Some jackass got to decide everything, and the Queen was only there to have his heirs. That's me; I'm the baby maker, Ugh! This made me mad! I had walked back to my room. And when I had walked in, I had forgotten Atticus was in here. "Hey stranger," he gives me a wave and smile. Even though I was still fuming, I decided to come in, "Can I ask you something?"

"Well, this is awkward..." I swallow slightly as I watch Thane run his hands through his hair. "I was coming in here for a shower, so, Thanks?" He chuckles. I quickly grabbed the showerhead whipping around on the floor; then, I turned the water off. "Sorry, Atticus is in my room so-" "I know, you don't have to explain yourself, Evette," Thane says and starts to grab a towel to clean up the water mess. I could sense something was bothering him; it seemed like he wasn't very present. His body was tense, and he didn't glance at me, which was weird. "Thane?" I grab a towel and wrap it around myself, "Are you alright?" "Yeah. Why?" "You seem distant." I then try to sneak a peek into his thoughts, but I'm immediately blocked out, "Wha-Thane?" He turns his head away from me. "I thought you said you were letting me read your thoughts now?" I asked, feeling slightly dishearted. "I shut you out for a reason. So don't take a perso

"They caught Lilia?" This actually didn't make sense to me. Why would Lilia let herself get caught? She had been running around here for years without anyone knowing, something was up."You don't think that's strange? That she just up and surrenders herself?"Thane grabs his jacket, "I don't know what's going on till I get there. But, Ethel's waiting I have to go.""Let me come with you," I gently grab his arm, "If I'm going to be Luna someday isn't this the type of thing I'll be seeing?"Thane seems cautious as he takes a moment to think about it, "Evette, I know you've worked in a job where you've seen a lot, but," he pauses and sighs, "I really don't want you to see this.""Why do you have to do it?" I ask, Thane seemed really tense about this, was this part of what an Alpha had to do?"Yes, and frankly, I hate.""At least let me talk to Ethel before you leave?" I ask."Okay, come on," he says and I follow him out the

Once again, I have opened my big fat mouth even though Thane didn't seem affected by it. I might have cost him a friendship. I really should think before I vomit my thoughts out. I rub my arm, feeling the tinge of guilt. "Damn, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I barely knew her." Thane puts a hand on my shoulder, "I'm not going to tell you not to say anything. But, what you said got me thinking. I think once Ethel cools down; I'll try and talk to Lilia myself." "I just-It felt so wrong to me," I couldn't get the sour taste out of my mouth. Being in this world was still new, and it was starting to get to me. I began to question if I could be comfortable here. "Also, you don't have to think about having pups with me at this very moment. I'm not going to make you do that. Yes, it is something I have wanted but, I respect you, and I don't want you resenting me because of it." I smiled at Thane's words; I had to admit it made me feel

~Evette~ "Quick! Over here," Rosie flags me down, as she ducks behind a bush. I follow her, feeling like a high school girl sneaking out of school again. I was never a bad girl in school. I usually did what I was told, but there was always a part of me that wanted to be wild. I snicker to myself, ' Maybe I should blame that on the She-wolf I never knew existed within me.' Rosie and I are all giggles as we make it to the basement unseen. "Are you sure she's down there?" I ask. "It's the only place I can think of that they would hide her, until they know what they want to do with her-" suddenly a shrill cry echoes up from the basement. Rosi

Khione would give me her latest wears, and she would even let me hang out with her friends even though they didn't like me. The shy girl, who never spoke that much. But when I was with her, everything felt better. I wasn't tiny; I wasn't left out until the day she found her mates. Atticus and Thane. Now she's left me and treats me like trash. "Hey!" ~Evette~ "A Hunter? No freaking way." Rosie's eyes were as big as mine now. But certain things were starting to make sense. "That's why that hunter showed up when you didn't expect him to," I said. "She is crazy! The bitch is nuts!" Rosie exclaims as she drives, her hands taunt on the steering wheel. Lilia had not chosen wisely when it came to who she loved, but you couldn't exactly blame her when her pack turned their backs on her. No one showed her the slightest bit of affection, and once someone did, she soaked it up like an over-dried sponge. That Hunter knew precisely what he was doing when he found Lilia. Fucking ass. I bet he knew how vulnerable Lilia had been. "Should we tell Thane?" Rosie asks. I sigh. I was glad we got here before him. He probably would have flipped his top, "I'll let him know once we're back home." "Huh, I think that's the first time I've heard you call the packhouse home," Rosie points out.

I decided to leave Rosie and Harvey alone. Some part of me felt I could trust him, just by the way he was looking at her. It's funny how mate bonds work, but I had to admit, it was better than regular dating. But now, I had to tell Thane he wouldn't be with me tomorrow, and that made my heart ache. I guess it was just too dangerous for them to be together with me. Not to mention some awkward ass moments would happen. Maybe I could make it up to him.As I walk up to where the circle had been, I see Thane huffing and puffing as the circle disbands. I notice his skin is gleaming with sweat, and I feel my throat suddenly become dry. Was it just me or was he looking more scrumptious than usual? {We could bite into his bicep like a juicy apple.}A voice in my head purrs, "What the-"{I knew you could hear me!} What in the world is going on?! My body suddenly feels numb, and my mind races. To the man who asked for my address to send girl scout cookies, and I gave him my parent's house address, “Oh no,” my knees give out, and I feel like I can barely breathe as the realization hits me, “I gave him their address…” “Evette?” Atticus kneels beside me,” What's going on?” I felt so blindsided. Patrick had appeared harmless to me, even skittish. But they found his fingerprints in my parent's house, “A late co-worker just told me who killed my parents,” I look at Atticus, “It’s my fault; I gave him the address to my parent's house instead of mine.” My eyes start to burn. I drop the phone, sobbing into my hands. Atticus holds me; they must have been so scared. Soon my sadness and sorrow turn into me seeing red. I wanted him to pay for what he did to my parents. He had no right to take their lives. “Who was this person?” Atticus asks. I wipe my tears. “His name is Patrick.” “I thought I would feel better knowing who did this, bu

I answer it with a shaky hand, but I don't say anything for a second to see if it’s Darleen calling, “Hello?! Evette? You are all over the place, and you just up and left? I’m not trying to get your location if that’s what you're thinking. So speak up, woman!” She shouts. A moment of silence stretches between us until she speaks up again, “What happened to you?” she asks. ~Evette~ My mother used to tell me that a closed mouth never gets fed, and I guess that applies here. I didn’t know what would happen, but if I didn’t tell anyone I was a Hybrid, I would never know if I was truly accepted here. I turn to face Thane, and I realize how vulnerable I feel when he looks at me. Thane seems calm when I feel like a hurricane of anxiety, “I don’t know if you knew already, but I’m-” “A Hybrid?” Thane finishes my sentence, leaving me speechless. I double-blink, then narrow my eyes on him. I cross my arms over my chest, “How did you know?” “When you tied my hand-ups with my belt,” he smiles, “Your eyes glowed, but they weren’t the color of your wo

  • The Destined Alpha, The Fated Rogue   Chapter 44: A Closed mouth never gets fed

~Evette~When I'm calm again, my skin turns to normal. I finally decided to go back home. It was unsettling for me not to know anything about being a Succubus. I needed to find out more information because, as far as I knew, weren't these things some demon?"Ugh, why?" I drag my hand down my face. So now, I'm a wanted criminal in my late life, and now a hybrid in my new one. Who heard of a Werewolf-Succubus Hybrid? I also wondered if either Thane or Atticus knew any of this.As I go down the hall, I ask one of the pack members if we have a library, and thankfully, we do. So I race down the hall where he directed me. I'm amazed at how extensive the library is when I walk in. There were so many books. It even had spiral stairs that crawled up to a second floor. But, Lord, where do I start?

~Evette~ "Get off me!" Moraya shouts as I pinned her down, "Who do you think you are?!" She shouts. "From what everyone else tells me, I'm the next, Luna. Now, tell me why you came here trying to drag Harvey away with you?" "It's none of your business! Let me go!" Moraya struggles under my grip; you'd think she'd be stronger than this, wasn't she once a Luna too? I notice her trim nails and perfectly unflawed skin as I look her over. This woman hasn't known work her whole life. "Why are you protecting a Rogue anyway?" She asks. "Because, unlike other packs, we see their potential." Moraya narrows her eyes on me; then her eyes go to my bracelte. She then smiles, "Oh, how funny. So you're from the Astra pack? No wonder you are recruiting Rogues. Are you looking for more suitors, succubus?" She teases, but I'm taken back by her comment. I squeeze her wrists, "What the hell are you talking about?" She starts to laugh,

Moraya yells "I'll rip your throat out!" Rosie growls, and her eyes shift. Moraya finds her chance to get up and Rosie jumps on her back like a spider-monkey. All the while, Evette is just watching her, I look towards her, stunned that she wasn't intervening. She shrugs, "I tried holding her back. But she heard what Moraya said to you. My little Rosebud lost her shit." I look back to Rosie, who compared to Moraya was much more petite. Yet she was fighting ferociously. Moraya, finally makes her way out of

"It's been two days and Harvey hasn't said a word," Rosie chews her lip, " He really thinks he doesn't need anyone. It's ridiculous." "Yeah, I know. He's bullheaded," These past two days Atticus has been trying to change Harvey's mind, but it was looking like a no-go. Harvey just wouldn't budge despite his situation. What was it going to take to make him see reason? I wrap my arm around Rosie's shoulder as we round the corner of the house. She wanted to be in the backyard, in case Harvey had an epiphany. Suddenly Rosie halts, "Who is that?" she points, I follow her gesture to a female coming towards us in a royal blue robe. "She isn't part of the pack?" I asked. "No. She seems to be from another one," Rosie says. The female stops before us, "Hello," she dips her head slightly. "I'm sorry to disturb you, " she removes her hood, revealing her porcelain-like face, complimented by ink-black hair. "My name is Moraya. I'm from Harvey's late-pack."

She wraps her arms around herself, "So, I scratched him across the chest." What is the actual fuck!? I shake my head, wondering if this was real or not. "Are you serious? That asshole!" I sidestep her and head to the studio, "He should know better!" I kick open the door. Harvey lays on the couch, now on his back. &nbs
