The housekeeper handed a piece of towel to Shane even before Mrs. Vargas could ask for it. Shane flung it over his head as he took off his coat and gave it to Rebecca who shortly offered a pair of indoor slippers for him.

“Goodness! You look terrible, Shane. Do you know that?” His mother exclaimed. The elderly propped up from her seat and walked towards her drenched son. “You…” Mrs. Vargas drew her hands closer to Shane’s face. “Stop standing there! You’re making the floor wet! Do you still need me to tell you that you need a shower and dry clothes?” She yelled in a typical-how-mothers-scold-their-son tone as she pulled his cheeks hard.

“Pft!” Audrey covered her mouth as she tried not to make any sound while watching them. Her expression changed when she realized that everyone’s attention was focused on her. “Ahem. It seems like the rain won’t stop yet,” she mumbled out of nowhere, followed by her awkward laugh.

The icy breeze blown through the window made the room chilly. The downpour kept splashing outside and raindrops would occasionally get inside the room when the gust blew a little stronger. It was the best time to twirl on the soft bed while covered with a thick sheet. The temperature was low, the wind was blowing and the sound of rain was like a lullaby that could make most people fall asleep in no time. It was such a pleasant rainy night without the disturbing thunder and lightning strikes…just the tender yet heavy rain.Audrey locked the door and faced the man who was still clueless about her surprising actions. She stared at him with a helpless expression before taking a deep sigh. “I almost did it.” Her voice was soft but she spoke every word with emphasis.Shane tilted his head to the side, arm crossed. “I have no idea what you’re trying to say. What is it?”She hit her forehead with her palm, eyes shut while biting her lower l

Shane wanted to hit his head after hearing what his mother asked. He was aware that his mom was a fan of romance plot scenes, and he could understand it whenever she started exaggerating at times when there was something ‘romantic’ going on but, what made him frustrated most was his mother’s ignorance towards their actual situation. At first, Shane was only planning to keep Audrey awake for a while and have her talk to him, but he didn’t expect that his childishness was nothing compared to hers. He knew that hugging her was surprising and was not his intention but Shane wanted to blame it to his ‘reflexes’ to save his ego. And he believed that anyone would do the same thing when the room suddenly turned so cold and unbearable.“N-no… t-turn off the air conditioner… brr….” he grumbled in between gritting his teeth. For years of partaking in soap operas and movies, Shane had never literally shivered so much to the extent that he’d be having a hard tim

A week had passed and Audrey became more distant. Shane was glad that she was cooperating but her silence made him feel that something wasn’t right. The actor would usually spend his time during the day sitting on the couch alone in the living room just like what he was currently doing or strolling outside the house but within the estate. Sometimes, he would be found settling on the bench in the orchard and watch Audrey and Nathan enjoy their time while the blond was teaching her to drive to become more independent as she faced her trauma.Shane's vacation was about to end and Lucy would not stop bugging him about hiring a new personal assistant as he badly needed one for the upcoming photography of his next project. Shane personally didn’t like having anyone else around him except his manager, so he purposely ignored Lucy’s request about getting a new PA.

Audrey knew she still needed more time to get used to driving alone, and she didn’t wish to stay dependent on anyone forever. “Did I hear it correctly? Shane wants me to be his PA?”Audrey couldn’t believe that her mother-in-law just said that. First, Shane shouldn’t be that broke that he needed to hire her as his PA because of the financial crisis. Well, Mrs. Vargas didn’t say anything about Shane being broke thus he needed him to work for him. But anyway, why would this mother and son even think that she would agree to work under this heartless actor?“Yes, hija. Shane’s manager was looking for his new PA but Shane didn’t want to pick someone randomly,” the elderly started. “Did you know? His previous PA was found sniffing his clothes and it shocked him. Now, your dear husband doesn’t want to let his guard down. So I thought, why not let you be his personal assistant? You can not only stay by his side while he’s at wo

The birds were tweeting while flapping their delicate wings over the twigs of lush trees surrounding the estate. The morning breeze was refreshing and the sound of the wind, wafting on the dry falling leaves was mellow and nice to the ears. The city was not too far but the air remained clean, thanks to the grown plants and trees, the pollution was fended off.Shane opened his eyes and the white ceiling greeted him. He rubbed his peepers once before turning to his side. A curved appeared on his lips when his views caught a beautiful creature. The room was finally free from Audrey’s hilarious laughs and sarcastic remarks. Shane slumped himself on the bed, darting his eyes on the bathroom door where she entered. He still could hear her chuckles, still could see her mocking expression towards him.“What’s wrong with my get up? That chubby brat just really wanted to make fun of me the moment she wakes up. The nerve! Just you wait,” he muttered and started to make tens of plans on how to get even with Audrey. The bright sunlight filled the room from the slightly opened windows. Shane stood up and lifted the curtains to let more sunshine inside. He strode in front of the mirror and looked at himself. He wasn’t born narcissist, but he wasn’t lying when he thought he was still looking good despite what he wore. His confidence suddenly boosted and his lips curved a conceited smi

The cold water in the shower helped Audrey felt relieved. She dressed herself up and sat in front of the vanity mirror inside the walk-in closet. She decided to blow dry her hair and slowly brushed it down. Her thoughts were filled with Shane’s epic get up, and she still couldn’t contain herself from giggling whenever she got reminded about it.“I bet he changed his shirt when I was in the shower,” she murmured while examining her face in the mirror. She maintained enough hours of sleep, and she wasn’t as haggard as when she was still in Bologna, working most of the day inside the busy kitchen though, she missed those times.Makeup was never her thing, but she had to trouble herself about it on some occasions. “Not bad,” she commented when she was done applying some tint on her lips. “I’m not dolling up myself, ju

The reddish lights painted across the sky meeting the sea ahead was more than a magnificent view to witness at dusk. A rare beauty to find in the middle of the ocean. Between the vast sky and the deep sea, a couple was found hugging each other. Loving gazes flashes across the other and sweet smiles were inscribed on their lips. It was a rare affectionate sight, filled with joys and hope melted on their faces. “Isn’t it wonderful?” Shane whispered to the woman in his arms. He prompted her to turn around and enjoy the scenery in front. “They say, watching the sunset together promises a happy life ahead till the last breath. Do you agree?” He bent down his face to smell the floral fragrance coming from the beauty in his hold. “Hmm… If I have known that watching the sunset will guarantee a happy life with you, I would have had already dragged you to watch the setting

“Are we there yet?” Audrey asked while being guided by Shane somewhere outside the house. The actor came back in the evening with a bright face. He surprised her with a hug and kisses while she was preparing dinner. Thankfully, it was a weekend and Audrey didn't need to go out for work. Furthermore, she could spend more time with her fiancé which boosted her mood tenfold. She was so happy that she forgot about the 'pregnant' dilemma she had after the housekeeper mentioned something about it.“Almost there,” Shane replied as he held her hand by the hand. He made her wore a blindfold to add spice to his surprise. “Be patient, baby. The white ceiling in Lucy’s office was always boring but somehow, Shane took an interest in it and even stared at it the whole time since he entered his manager’s office. The actor chose to face the ceiling rather than looking at Lucy’s fuming face. If was born with a talented hand, he could have already drawn her cartoon version with the smoke-like effect coming out from her nostrils. He was thinking about how his manager would look like when he heard him call his name in her infamous low voice.“Shane,” Lucy mumbled his name slowly and with an accuracy of the sound of every letter containing his name. “What do we do now?” Her tone remained the same though her voice went lower than before. Shane could guess, Lucy was in a not so good mood.A month ago, he did something on his own without telling his manager again. Just

An awkward silence filled the car while Shane was driving home. He would throw glances at Audrey who kept wearing a serious face that terrified the other. The trip was long and the actor wished he could make the car sprint to the villa just so to avoid Audrey’s occasionally cold gazes. After what happened back in the restaurant, Shane suddenly felt intimidated. Why not? Audrey effortlessly beat him almost to a pulp. If not for Nathan and Francesca’s interruption, pulling Audrey away from him, the actor would be less than admirable with his bruises. Well, he didn’t blame Audrey a bit. He was aware of her ‘violent’ side beforehand. After all, he earned a kiss from her in advance. It was more than sufficient for him.“Have you had dinner?” Audrey took the chance to break the silence when Shane was parking the car on the driveway. She took a peek at the time on her digital wristwatch. Sh

Her hands automatically moved to reach out to his face, she caressed him softly with nothing but tears of joy in her eyes.“Shane…” Audrey called out his name again. She blinked her eyes several times to make sure she wasn’t dreaming but her tears just blurred her sight instead. Shane wiped her tears with his thumb and smiled at her. “Shane,” Audrey whispered. She had a lot of things to say but her mouth didn’t want to cooperate with her. All she could mutter was his name and it had been three times since she called him out.“Yes, baby. It had been a month since the last time Audrey saw Shane in person. She was missing him so much though she couldn’t lift her phone to dial his number nor compose a message. Her long face became her everyday mask. The staff in the restaurant were never tired of cheering her on. Not that she wanted to worry them, she could still do what she had to. And her current situation was something she had to face alone. She decided to trust Shane and while she was at it, Audrey thought it would be wiser not to bother the actor in the meantime. Calling him should be easy for her but who knew? Her action might cause him more trouble. She decided to wait, and she would endure it how long it may take.“Auddie, aren’t you going to take a break? You can let Nathan take your place for a while. You need to eat,” Francesca who became more talkative than usual said. She rarely talked in Italian thus the others could easily

The function hall was filled with media reporters coming from all over the city with their crew in tow. It was late in the evening, yet they couldn’t miss the rare opportunity to be present during one of the celebrity’s press conference.
