Time passed faster when it comes to happy moments. Shane spent some hours talking to his mom and Audrey would occasionally join in whenever she was dragged in the conversation which was Mrs. Vargas’ doing of course. Audrey offered help in the kitchen to leave them alone but Shane told her to let the cook handle his tasks.

It was thirty minutes past seven in the evening. Rebecca and the girls had prepared the dinner in the dining hall. And the three of them enjoyed a fulfilling meal. They were having some dessert when Audrey’s phone rang. It was Nathan calling him.

“Excuse me, I need to take this call.” She pushed the seat back and stood. Shane was looking at her intently before she turned around to go out for a bit.

“Hi, Nate. How’s everything doing?” She mumbled afte

“Hahaha!”Shane’s laughter broke the silence when Audrey cupped her mouth after talking so much. Her face was as red as a ripe tomato. “You’re blushing,” he teased, looking at her face under the moonlight.“No, I’m actually annoyed,” Audrey stated. She looked around and saw a bench ahead. They were in the orchard located ta the west side of the estate. The smell of ripening mangoes was so addictive that she focused herself on sniffing the sweet scent in the air instead of facing the man who couldn’t stop laughing while insisting that she was affected by his question.“Come on, chub. Did you really not have a crush on me before? I was already so good looking when we were in grade school. I even received a lot of presents and love letters from th

“Mom, did you know that she was in Italy all this time? So I was the only one who has no idea,” Shane drank the water from his glass. “I thought she was just in the Visayas because that’s what John told me,” he added and faced her. “Did you tell your driver to give me lies when I was asking about your whereabouts?”“I…” Audrey stopped. Why would she feel guilty when he didn’t even bother to check on her when she was still in the Visayas before.“Tsk. I’m full,” he grumbled and left his seat.“Don’t mind him, Hija.” Mrs. Vargas comforted her.“It’s okay,” Audrey replied. She went on eating as nothing happened. Lingering in the past would only make the present more difficult. Just like her feelings for him. The more she kept it a secret, the harder she falls for him.“We believed that Shane was going to look for you after what happened on your wedding day. So telling him about your whereabouts would be making things easy for his search. I’m truly embarrassed to find

Shane locked himself up in the master’s bedroom after what happened. He couldn’t believe that his mother was aware of Audrey’s whereabouts, leaving him the only one who had no idea.He laid down on his chest, burying his face on the soft bed. His mind went chaotic. In fact, Shane was aware that Audrey didn’t have any obligation to notify him about her major decisions in life or whatsoever related to her choices but what she did hurt his pride. He believed that Audrey would always stay by his side no matter what. Audrey would always understand him. Audrey would always forgive him. And she would always wait for him.A sarcastic laughed escaped his lips. He literally took her for granted just because he knew she had no other friends but him. Just because he never considered that one day, she might change and aim high. And that day was realized wh

A high-pitched scream resounded the room. Audrey was too surprised to see Shane entered the room. She was too surprised that she even threw whatever she had in her hand directly to his face. Not only that, but Audrey also sprinted from where she was to his direction and pushed him outside the room before slamming the door at his face.“Hey! That was dangerous. You almost hit my face,” Shane complained.“You should have knocked first!” She yelled from the other side of the door. The man outside replied, “I did. But you didn’t open it so it wasn’t all my fault.”“What? Have you ever heard about privacy? That’s why I locked the door so no one could enter without my permission. Did I forced mysel

Tristan’s sincere apology put a smile on Audrey’s pretty face. “If you said it that way from the last time, then we didn’t have to be hostile to each other until now,” she smiled at him and offered her hand. “Let’s forget about the past and live on,” she added.“So, friends?” Tristan asked after shaking their hands. A rare smile was sculpted on his lips. Well, as much as she remembered, Tristan never really smiled before. He would always smirk, laugh, and make funny faces to tease her.“Let’s forgive and forget first for now. As for friendship, let me think about it,” she stated and signaled a waiter to bring her some more drink.“Eh? I thought since you forgive me then we could become friends? What’s with your attitude?” He pouted and damn, she found it cute and adorable.‘Wait, what?’“Oh, Tristan. Give me a break. If see each other for the third time, then we can be friends. After a heavy discussion with his mom, Shane still had to attend Harrison's birthday celebration. If Lucy had stopped pestering him on the phone when he answered her call the moment he decided to ditch the party, he should have been drowning in liquors again. On the other hand, going to a reception means drinking and having fun. Instead of reflecting on what he did, the actor put on his 'mask' and drove to the venue despite his swollen face due to his mother's slap. The delightful music filled the enormous living room. There were people in the sofas, talking with wine glasses on their hands. Some with partners were enjoying swaying their bodies with the rhythm. The rest were casually munching on the food. Shane gaped around, looking for a particular guest. He hissed when he couldn't see Audrey in the crowd."Would you like some wine, Sir?" A guy in a waiter's uniform inquired while carrying a tray with wine glasses."Yes, thank you." He answered in a low voice which slightly intimidate

Shane’s eyes lit up when he saw the woman he was looking for since he arrived at the party. His steps were large yet careful as he made sure not to fall on the floor after having a little too much drink. His heartbeat was hysterical, and he felt his heart bouncing inside his chest. There was an obvious excitement in his eyes and a fair share of consciousness within him as he approached her. When he was a couple of meters away from Audrey, every fragment of passing happiness was gone in a blink, specifically when he recognized someone from the past.‘Tristan Reid.’ The name echoed in his head. Shane was unconsciously clenching his fist in annoyance. Audrey was actually talking to her bully and on top of that, she was smiling like nothing happened. He stood in the corner for a minute. Standing still like a statue there with his mouth shut and his fists tight. Silently, he listened to what they were talking about. He could not care less, not when Tristan was around. The reddish lights painted across the sky meeting the sea ahead was more than a magnificent view to witness at dusk. A rare beauty to find in the middle of the ocean. It was a rare affectionate sight, filled with joys and hope melted on their faces. “Isn’t it wonderful?” Shane whispered to the woman in his arms. He prompted her to turn around and enjoy the scenery in front. “They say, watching the sunset together promises a happy life ahead till the last breath. Do you agree?” He bent down his face to smell the floral fragrance coming from the beauty in his hold. “Hmm… If I have known that watching the sunset will guarantee a happy life with you, I would have had already dragged you to watch the setting

“Are we there yet?” Audrey asked while being guided by Shane somewhere outside the house. The actor came back in the evening with a bright face. He surprised her with a hug and kisses while she was preparing dinner. Thankfully, it was a weekend and Audrey didn't need to go out for work. Furthermore, she could spend more time with her fiancé which boosted her mood tenfold. She was so happy that she forgot about the 'pregnant' dilemma she had after the housekeeper mentioned something about it.“Almost there,” Shane replied as he held her hand by the hand. He made her wore a blindfold to add spice to his surprise. “Be patient, baby. There's no need to rush,” he continued.Audrey may not be around the house every time unless she got no plans during her week offs and had to stay home if not visiting at Nathan's place to have a ch

The white ceiling in Lucy’s office was always boring but somehow, Shane took an interest in it and even stared at it the whole time since he entered his manager’s office. The actor chose to face the ceiling rather than looking at Lucy’s fuming face. If was born with a talented hand, he could have already drawn her cartoon version with the smoke-like effect coming out from her nostrils. He was thinking about how his manager would look like when he heard him call his name in her infamous low voice.“Shane,” Lucy mumbled his name slowly and with an accuracy of the sound of every letter containing his name. “What do we do now?” Her tone remained the same though her voice went lower than before. Shane could guess, Lucy was in a not so good mood.A month ago, he did something on his own without telling his manager again. Just

An awkward silence filled the car while Shane was driving home. He would throw glances at Audrey who kept wearing a serious face that terrified the other. The trip was long and the actor wished he could make the car sprint to the villa just so to avoid Audrey’s occasionally cold gazes. After what happened back in the restaurant, Shane suddenly felt intimidated. Why not? Audrey effortlessly beat him almost to a pulp. If not for Nathan and Francesca’s interruption, pulling Audrey away from him, the actor would be less than admirable with his bruises. Well, he didn’t blame Audrey a bit. He was aware of her ‘violent’ side beforehand. After all, he earned a kiss from her in advance. It was more than sufficient for him.“Have you had dinner?” Audrey took the chance to break the silence when Shane was parking the car on the driveway. She took a peek at the time on her digital wristwatch. Sh

Her hands automatically moved to reach out to his face, she caressed him softly with nothing but tears of joy in her eyes.“Shane…” Audrey called out his name again. She blinked her eyes several times to make sure she wasn’t dreaming but her tears just blurred her sight instead. Shane wiped her tears with his thumb and smiled at her. “Shane,” Audrey whispered. She had a lot of things to say but her mouth didn’t want to cooperate with her. All she could mutter was his name and it had been three times since she called him out.“Yes, baby. It’s me, I’m back,” was what Audrey heard him say. The lady still couldn’t believe her eyes, but she was genuinely glad to s

It had been a month since the last time Audrey saw Shane in person. She was missing him so much though she couldn’t lift her phone to dial his number nor compose a message. Her long face became her everyday mask. The staff in the restaurant were never tired of cheering her on. Not that she wanted to worry them, she could still do what she had to. And her current situation was something she had to face alone. She decided to trust Shane and while she was at it, Audrey thought it would be wiser not to bother the actor in the meantime. Calling him should be easy for her but who knew? Her action might cause him more trouble. She decided to wait, and she would endure it how long it may take.“Auddie, aren’t you going to take a break? You can let Nathan take your place for a while. You need to eat,” Francesca who became more talkative than usual said. She rarely talked in Italian thus the others could easily

The function hall was filled with media reporters coming from all over the city with their crew in tow. It was late in the evening, yet they couldn’t miss the rare opportunity to be present during one of the celebrity’s press conference. Not when it was about his personal life which people were more curious about.Camera flashes stopped and the hustling of the crowd slowly went down when the superstar and movie king, Shane Vargas stepped on stage. He was wearing the same suit he had when he attended the movie premiere earlier. With his inborn beauty and appeal, he took over everyone’s attention.
