Chapter sixty four

Mia's pov

My body shook as Trevor carried me back to the pack house, my mind still trying to process what happened just over an hour ago.

Brody was gone, in the most horrible way. We'd lost a pack member.

I'd never seen the Alpha cry, I didn't think Alphas even cried but I saw Alpha Blake shed tears for Brody.

Trevor was no exception, he tried to hold back the tears but the pain I felt through the bond was just too much and a few did fall.

His family had rushed over when they felt him die and I thought I'd prepared myself to receive them but when I saw his mate, I broke.

She looked so pale and sick and didn't even say a word, just covered her mate's mark on her neck with her hand.

She knelt beside his body for the longest time, holding him, crying. His body hadn't even shifted back, it stayed in that mutated state.

She was taken away when she finally fainted from the pain and grief of losing her mate, the most painful thing a wolf can ever experience.
