Isabel paced around the hallway aimlessly with several thoughts running through her mind. After her conversation with Amelia earlier today, she hadn't exactly been herself.
She didn't want to think too much about her situation but speaking with Amelia only made her realize how completely lost she really was. Not only did she not have an actual life, she also didn't know where else to go from here. If Ryan and Amelia where to get married anytime soon, Amelia would officially become Luna which means her right to reside in the fortress would become valid but as for her, she had absolutely no reason to be here.
She couldn't possibly live as the Luna's best friend for the rest of her life and she had absolutely no idea where to go next from here in order to find her own mate.
"I can't believe you're finally getting out of here sweetie. I'm so fucking jealous of you," Isabel joked as she watched Amelia stare at herself in the mirror for the thousandth time."Oh please Isabel, don't exaggerate it. It's not like I'm actually going anywhere special or anything like that. It's just a simple walk around the place but you know, I still can't believe Ryan and I are actually going out for a walk. I mean, I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just surprised that it's actually happening because I did not expect it," Amelia said, turning away from the mirror to face Isabel."What exactly is so surprising about it? I mean, aside from the fact that you weren't aware that he was already back to normal, shouldn't you have expected something like this to happen? As far as I know, going on dates or strolls is perfectly normal f
"Where is this place?" Amelia asked as she walked into what looked like an old building.Ryan suddenly became excited after their small talk and he practically pulled her to this place that looked completely old and dusty from the outside."You probably don't know this but because of my condition, I never really played around much like other kids while growing up. I became the Alpha at the early age of five so I had to do a lot of reading and studying on how to become a perfect Alpha regardless of the fact that I was weird. So, this place is what I call my favorite place in the world," Ryan explained shyly, piquing Amelia's curiosity."Why is it your favorite place?" she asked excitedly and Ryan mentally heaved a sigh of relief that she didn't look bo
Ryan and Amelia had walked around the fortress and Ryan had shown her a few other places that he was emotionally attached to. The night was getting darker and they both decided to sit by the lakeside that Amelia didn't expect to see.According to Ryan, the lakeside was their final destination for the night and it also happened to be one his favorite spots. Amelia had seen a completely different side of Ryan today and like she hoped, he wasn't half as bad as everyone thought.Behind the person they all called crazy was a goofy, nerdy and adorable man, who genuinely appreciated the littlest things and was passionate about the things he genuinely liked. They had visited the official library of the fortress earlier and just like he bragged about his secret room of artifacts, he didn't stop gushing over the fact th
Isabel strolled around, going through every corner she found but making sure she studied her way so she wouldn't have any difficulty getting back to her room. Her new aim was to get familiar with every nook and cranny of the Alpha's quarters since she wasn't allowed to explore the outsides of the pack fortress just yet.According to what she had heard, only very few people excluding the Alpha and the Beta, reside at the Alpha's quarters areas. According to one of the servants, Tamara, only three trusted servants were allowed to reside here and a few guards including Ivan, who was known as the most favored guard in the pack even though he wasn't the highest ranking guard. The reason was because Ryan wanted privacy and he also didn't want a situation where the council would place their people in his space and get them
"Good morning pretty boy!" Adrian greeted as soon as he walked into Ryan's office with Ivan following closely behind him."It's way too early for you to be this noisy Adrian," Ryan drawled tiredly, wondering how Adrian always woke up with so much energy in the morning, whereas he woke up with little to no energy at all."Well, you can say I'm in a great mood today cause you won't believe who's finally back with us," Adrian said, wearing a grin on his face and seating on the available seat opposite Ryan with Ivan taking a seat beside him."What is Adrian talking about?" Ryan asked, directing his attention away from Adrian to Ivan."Good morning Sir," Ivan greeted first with a slight bow.
Amelia stared lazily at the mirror in front of her with a worried look on her face. After Ryan had suddenly informed her that she was going to be introduced to the council today, she hasn't stopped staring at herself in the mirror. She immediately started to rehearse her words and her reaction but even after talking to herself and picturing how the entire situation would play out in her head, she still felt very nervous and unsure about the idea of putting herself out there. She had suggested the idea to Ryan back when she thought she was confident enough to face them but right now, she wasn't feeling as confident as she thought she'd be. Another reason she even suggested that Ryan introduced her to the council was because she was sick and tired of having to stay cooped up in her room all day with Isabel
"I'm sorry but isn't Alpha Ryan running a little too late? He should have shown about half an hour ago," Cassius spoke up, tapping his feet as he was getting impatient."He also tells us not to show up late like we don't have our personal lives to attend to but here he is wasting our time and keeping us waiting. So much for leading by example," Nigel scoffed."Can you two just be quiet and wait patiently like the rest of us? Your complaining isn't exactly going to do anything but disturb us," Lord Fritz spoke up, not masking his irritation and Nigel scowled at him.Nigel and Fritz were two people that never got along and will probably never get along. Nigel couldn't stand Fritz for being a supposed prim and proper man who took pride in his dignity and his h
"Well, look who finally decided to show up? What took you so long Alpha Ryan? Did you actually forget that we sat here waiting to meet you and your precious mate sir?" Camille spoke, placing her palms together and staring intensely at Ryan.Amelia's attention is immediately drawn to the lady's voice and as soon as her eyes met with Camille's face, her jaw drops slightly. When Isabel had mentioned that she had seen a beautiful woman that looked like a goddess, Amelia did not really expect Isabel's words to be close to true at all. She had believed that Isabel was simply being dramatic as usual but seeing Camille with her very own eyes now, she could definitely attest to the fact that this woman was an actual goddess and she was slightly intimidated by how beautiful she was."I'll apologize to those that I actua
A Month Later It's been a little over a month now since Camille used the spell to get Rakani out of Ryan's body. Amelia was relieved that everything went well and that nothing happened to Camille but Ryan had still not recovered and he was still unconscious. Camille had explained to her that the reason why Ryan was still unconscious was that his energy had been drained from trying to always dominate the spirit that was in him and if she hadn't sent Rakani out of his body much quicker, I would have most likely lost his life. She had told Amelia to be patient and Amelia was trying very hard to remain patient and positive but she was getting really worried now since a month has passed and Ryan was still in the same condition. Leandro had been the one taking care of him but even Leandro said the same thing that Camille said and Amelia had no other choice but to believe in their words and hope for the best. "I completely understand that you're worried right now Amelia but I don't
Camille sighed. After over an hour of trying to perfect it, she had finally come up with the perfect spell that would kick Rakani out of Ryan's body but won't release him from Alisa's spell. After Amelia and Adrian explained things to her, Camille finally understood everything and when she was told again that she was Alisa's descendant, she realised that she had the power to release Rakani and that was why he had made no attempt to hurt her earlier. "Did you check? Is he awake?" she asked Adrian. "No, not yet," Adrian answered and Camille sighed. "Good then. We don't have that much time and we need to move now before he wakes up. All I need you to do is make sure that I'm not interrupted because getting Rakani out won't be easy at all and any little interruption can disrupt the spell and cause trouble. Just keep watch and make sure no soul passes by. Is that understood?" Camille instructed and all three of them nod their head in understanding.Amelia waited outside patiently for C
"I'm trying very hard not to jump to any conclusions right now but you just mentioned something about using a spell on Adrian and I just want to confirm if what I heard is true or if my imaginations are just playing games with me," Amelia said as calmly as she could. She was very sure that she didn't hear things but she wanted to confirm from Camille herself because what she had heard just didn't make any sense at all. "You didn't hear wrongly Amelia and yes, I used a spell on Adrian to get him out of the room," Camille replied and Amelia's jaw dropped. "Hold on a second, are you trying to tell me that the witch that we've been looking for all this while has been you?" Isabel asked, wanting to confirm for herself. She was feeling very confused right now because it made no sense to her that Camille was the witch that they were after but at the same time, it didn't seem to be a completely ridiculous outcome. She would have never thought that Camille was a witch but she also didn't t
"So now that someone amongst us has gotten hurt, doesn't this mean that the witch is going to have to show herself sooner or later?" Isabel asked, directing her question at both Adrian and Amelia who just regained consciousness. "Well, that is what we expect to happen but we can only wait and hope to see how all of this is going to play out. I believe that the witch is going to show up sooner than we think because even when it seemed like things were going downwards for us, Ryan or should I say, Rakani miraculously woke up and did what he did to Amelia and that could only mean that the witch is going to show herself soon," Adrian responded and Isabel sighed. "I honestly can't wait for her to show up and for us to get this over with because all of this is just sickening at this point," Isabel hissed in frustration. "Are you okay, Amelia? Do you feel better now?" Isabel asked and Amelia groaned in pain. She wasn't feeling okay at all and her head felt like it was going to split open
"What did you just say?" Camille asked as she wanted to confirm whether or not she had heard wrong. "I really don't think I said anything that too difficult to understand, little witch. I'm offering you your friend's life and in exchange, you going to break the spell and set me free from this body," Rakani responded. Camille chuckled. The fact that Rakani was asking her to break the spell made her realise that he was definitely not as strong as he was trying to make her think and that there was a possibility that the spell could work on him and that she would be able to knock him out until she's able to come up with a way to get Ryan out of him. "I don't know how you think witchcraft works but just because I'm a witch doesn't necessarily mean that I can break every spell out there. Whoever is behind the spell that you're under is a very powerful person and I doubt a little witch like me can do anything to help you break out of the spell. You're bound to that spell forever and only
Camille heard a strange noise from Ryan's room on her way there and she quickly ran in to see what could have caused the noise. As soon as she walked in, the first thing that she noticed was that Ryan was already on his feet and when her eyes went to the other end of the room, she saw Isabel and Adrian beside Amelia and she immediately noticed that Amelia was unconscious. "What exactly is going on here?" she questioned and when Ryan turned to face her, she noticed that his eyes were red and that was when it dawned on her that the person in front of her wasn't Ryan but the evil spirit that she had met in Ryan's head earlier. "Adrian, Isabel, I need you both to get out of here right now and take Amelia with you," she demanded and Adrian frowned. He couldn't understand why Camille would be asking them to leave especially when she could also be in danger if she remained here. "I'd prefer it if you took Isabel and Amelia with you instead and I'll stay here to try to calm Ryan down and
"So what are we going to do now?" Isabel asked, breaking the silence in the room. "I don't know. There isn't much that we can do besides just wait and see how all of this is going to turn out. To be honest with you, I can't think of anything else at the moment and I just feel like we need to exercise patience and allow fate to play things out," Adrian responded and Isabel scoffed I'm disbelief. She was already finding the entire situation ridiculous at this point because she just couldn't understand why things just weren't going their way. They had waited for the spiritual mother to come around and when she finally did, she instructed them that somebody would have to get hurt for the witch to show herself and they already made up their minds that somebody was going to get hurt and that the person would get hurt in Ryan's hands and now, all of a sudden, the person that was supposed to hurt one of them was suddenly unconscious and they couldn't even come up with anything else to do b
"I got caught Leandro and that's why I couldn't stay with you. Before we met, there was a town I usually go to whenever I needed to get away from my uncle and the stress of having to train myself to become a third in command. The town is mostly occupied by humans and I considered it as my safe space away from my life as a werewolf but during one of my visits to that town, I met an elderly man and he turned out to be a werewolf just like me. As you know, I don't usually trust people easily but since he seemed harmless, I became friendly with him and he and I grew closer during my stay in town," "Long story short, I was foolish to have trusted him. He got into trouble with rogues and I tried to help him but in the process, I exposed my abilities and he saw me. I told him to keep it a secret and pretend like he never saw anything and I expected him to do just that but that was until I found out that he was the Alpha of the Dark moon pack. He started to blackmail me by threatening to exp
"If you want me to talk to you, then you and I have to go to a more private space because anyone could walk past this place and overhear our conversation," Camille said to Leandro and he nodded his head in agreement because he knew that it was risky to stay in such an open space and talk about such a delicate topic. Leandro had a lot to say to Camille because of what had happened between them over the years and also because of what happened the last time he had seen her. After finding out from Camille that she was a witch, he honestly didn't know what to think at first because it all just sounded crazy to him and when she told him that the poison Jarred had in his system was something that she had made herself, he was completely furious and without thinking twice about it, he threw Camille out of his house and told her to never come back. Camille and Leandro headed towards Adrian's office which was the closest and safest place they could talk without worrying about someone overheari
