Summer's POV
Summer and Asher arrived at the Wilson's hideout a little after ten in the morning. They were due to meet there at nine, but after being tailed they had ended up running late.
"What took you so long?" Reggie demanded now as Summer walked up to him. "We were just about to send some people out to look for you."
"We were being followed." Summer explained pulling her hat off. "Had to make a little detour to lose them."
Reggie's face paled, "What do you mean you were followed?"
"Exactly what she said." Asher spoke up frowning. "Someone was following us so we had to make a run for it."
"I wasn't talking to you." Reggie snapped narrowing his gaze at Asher.
"I don't care." Asher challenged.
Sighing Summer shook her head, "Can the both of you stop with your pissing contest?"
"He started it." Reggie grumbled crossing his arms.
From beside her Summer could hear Asher snickering.
Reggie and Taylor stood on either side of Summer as they stared at Michael's man who was bleeding prefusely out of his nose. He had tried to threaten Summer in front of the brother's and recieved a punch straight to the nose that Summer had already broken."Are you going to do the honors?" Reggie asked now looking to Summer."I can I suppose." Summer muttered. Her heart wasn't in it, all she could do was keep thinking of worst case scenerios of Asher the longer he was being held captive. She didn't have the time to torture this man to get him to talk, but she didn't have any other choice, obtaining Asher's location was the main priority."Can you go get me a pair of plyers?" Summer asked turning to Reggie."Sure thing boss." Reggie said rushing off leaving Summer and Taylor alone with the man."Are you sure you don't want me to beat the shit out of him?" Taylor asked cracking his knuckles. He had a look of bloodlust in his eyes.&
"What do you want to do with him?" Reggie asked eyeing the man that was now hunched over panting after being shocked one too many times."Put him out of his misery." Summer said shrugging."You want me to do it or do you want to do it?" Reggie asked pulling his gun from his belt.Summer considered, even though the man had talked and told them where Asher was being held she was still pretty pissed about what had happened.Smiling Summer held out her hand. "Let me do the honors."Nodding Reggie handed the weapon over to Summer. As she took the gun from Reggie's hand Summer could see nothing but images of Asher being beaten and tortured. Not even batting an eyelash she pulled the trigger allowing a bullet to fly and connect directly between the mans eyes sending him flying backwards in his chair and landing back first on the ground.Handing the weapon back to Reggie who stood staring wide eyed Summer kept her gaze fixed on the
Summer paced back and forth in front of the Wilson's secret hideout. The sun outside had begun to set sending an eery red glow across the entire area, fitting given that there was a chance that blood would be spilt this evening. It was almost like a vivid premonition of what was to come.Reggie, Taylor, Vincent, and Theresa had needed to prepare themselves for Asher's rescue mission, leaving Summer all alone waiting. Even though she was anxious to get Asher back, Summer just couldn't stop the feeling of foreboding that she was feeling. Before any missions she always felt like this, it was when she questioned her mortality the most. She knew thinking morbidly wasn't a good idea, but she just couldn't help it. Knowing that she was rushing into danger and that she didn't know how many people were waiting for her always scared the hell out of her."You should stop that before you end up making it to the earth's crust." Reggie joked appe
Summer headed up the spiral staircase first while Reggie and Taylor stood guard before following behind once she was at the top. Something within Summer was screaming as she began to realize that moving throughout the warehouse was much too easy. "Do you feel like this is going too smoothly?" Summer whispered to Reggie and Taylor as she looked around the loft area they had just entered. "I fully expect an ambush." Reggie said seriously cracking his knuckles. "I know how your fathers men are." "They could be Michael's men." Summer pointed out as they began moving forward once again. Being sure to keep her steps light Summer made her way down a hallway that led to a single door. With nowhere else to look this had to be where they were holding Asher. Taking in a deep breath Summer reached out and began opening the door. A soft creaking sounded as it moved allowing Summer access to the room beyond. "It's empty
"Think it is safe boss?" Reggie asked eyeing the fire escape through the window. "It looks a little worn down.""I don't think we have time to consider this." Summer pointed out as the area began to quickly fill with smoke. "Either way we will die from falling or we will burn to death, which would you rather have?"Reggie grimaced, "Can I have an option three?""Not the time." Taylor growled at his brothers terrible joke."He's right Reg." Summer agreed taking a deep breath. "I will test it out first how does that sound?""No, I should be the one to do it." Reggie insisted. Not allowing Summer the opportunity to argue Reggie quickly climbed through the window whose glass had been broken long ago disappearing just beyond.Summer could hear the sound of metal groaning as Reggie went about checking the sturdiness of the stairs that they hoped would be their way out of this situation. She could hear Reggie cussing
The cab pulled up in front of First Crest Hospital with a squeal. The whole way Summer had been nagging the driver about not driving quick enough spurring his annoyance. Throwing bills at him Summer quickly exited and ran to the entrance.A woman sitting behind the reception desk looked up at her curiously as Summer rushed to inquire about Asher's whereabouts."Which room is Asher Roth in?" Summer demanded slamming her hands down on the desk."Asher Roth?" The woman repeated before beginning to type on her computer. "The trauma patient that just arrived?""Yes, him..." Summer said quickly. "Which room is he in?""He is currently in surgery." The receptionist explained."Surgery?" Summer wasn't sure if she had heard the woman right. "Why would he possibly be in surgery?""I can't tell you that." The receptionist explained. "You will have to wait until he is out and moved to a room. The doctor c
"Are you done?" Asher asked as Summer's tears finally dried up.Nodding Summer sniffled, "Yeah, sorry about that."Feeling embarassed she tried not to look at Asher. She couldn't believe that she had just spent all that time crying like a baby while the person that should be crying watched."Don't say sorry." Asher muttered as he attempted to smile. "Especially to me.""But..." Summer tried only to be stopped by Asher shaking his head."I told you that you aren't the one to blame for this." He repeated sternly. "You tried to keep me away and I was the stubborn one that refused.""None of this is fair to you." Summer sighed. "I should have never let you get involved.""Too late for that now." Asher pointed out. "And even if we repeated the same situation I would have made the same choices all over again.""Why are you so kind?" Summer asked sitting up to look into Asher's eyes. "I don't
The sun had fully gone down by the time Summer rolled away from Asher gasping for breath. For a man who had been severely beaten and had even had surgery he was still so full of energy. Despite Summer attempting to stop him and insisting he needed rest he just couldn't be satiated."Are you okay?" Asher asked turning his head to look at Summer. "Was that too much?""I should be asking you that." Summer countered still trying to catch her breath. "You're a patient after all.""Minor wounds." Asher insisted reaching towards Summer again."No more." Summer said sternly swatting Asher's hand away. "You need to focus on recovery.""I think I've shown that I'm just fine." Asher pointed out."Be serious please." Summer insisted sitting up and scooting to the edge of the hospital bed.She wasn't sure how long it would take for the doctor to come back and take a look at Asher, but she didn't want to be caught comp
