“What was that about?” Rodri asked as I walked past him,
“Nothing. It was nothing,” I lied.
He glances at me and then back at the person am trying so hard to run away from. He inhales sharply as I wait for him to let me go.
“Rhia...” he whispers.
“It’s nothing Rods,” I maintain
He gives me an affirmative nod as I walk away. I can’t believe he saw me with the man that I don’t even know.
What if it was Kai? I ask myself inwardly as I make my way back to the house. I find Michy waiting for me with a bottle of juice in her hand.
“What’s up?” She asks as I shake my head.
I don’t want to start talking about what just happened, but then again, she’s my best friend.
Hey,” I say when we get to the bedroom.
“The man who followed me into the bathroom last night,” I started as she gulped down some juice.
“Yes.”
“Well, it’s that man”
“Which man?” She asks her attention to the bottle of juice she’s drinking. She doesn’t seem to be paying attention.
She gasps when the realization hits her.
“O-M-G,” she says as I raise my eyebrows.
“That’s him? Wow...”
I can hear her heart racing as she comes closer to me.
“Wow. Do you think his stalking you?”
She asks me as I shake my head. I don’t know what he wants from me.
“He met me a few minutes ago and his… Well…” I stuttered
Her mouth falls open, I know she is trying to make it make sense,
“Did he say what he wanted?” She asks me as I shake my head.
“I don’t know and honestly I want nothing to do with him,” I said to her, throwing myself on the bed.
“Well… His good-looking”
She joins me on the bed as I stare at the ceiling, my feet hanging over the edge of the bed.
“And old” I added
“That’s what makes him so hot. His arms, his body… Oh shit,” she says.
I turned to look at her and our eyes met as we both burst out laughing. For two people who have boyfriends, we are honestly so weird.
“We are so weird,” I said to her as she nodded her head.
“I know right.” She added. We both lay down on the mattress, thinking about everything that had happened.
I shouldn’t even be thinking about that man because I have someone who’s been amazing towards me and understands that I don’t want to sleep with anyone at the moment
“What should we do?” She turns to me.
“Run when I see him coming. I don’t want to be in awkward situations with him,” I suggested, and she nodded her head.
We bring our heads together as we chat about the party. We have agreed for her never to tell me about her sex life since she sleeps with my brother.
“By the way, did I tell you smell nice?” She said, sitting up as I grabbed my coat, sniffing it.
I had his cologne on me.
“Fuck,” I cussed,
I ran to the closet, picked a t-shirt and took off the one I wore.
“Come on. I should get going now,” she said, getting to her feet as I sighed heavily.
“You escorting me?”
“Really? What if I bump into you know who?” I raised an eyebrow, and she wrapped her arm around my shoulder.
“Maybe it would be a good chance for you to ask him what he wants,” Her smirk
I roll my eyes as I lead the way out of my room. She probably might have asked Rodri to walk her back home, and he said no.
“Good evening Alpha,” she beamed, bowing her head as soon as she saw Dad.
Even though her dad and my father are best friends, she always addresses him by his title. I have never understood why, but maybe it’s because she is in a relationship with Rodri.
“Evening Michele. Is this when you are leaving?”
He asked
She smiles, nodding her head several times. He looks at me from head to toe, then at her.
“I will walk her home,” I said to Dad, and he nodded his head.
“Have a good night Michele,” he said to her as he walked past us. I curtly bowed my head as well with Michy.
We head out of the house, walking out as we talk about the mate’s ball that is coming up. This is the third one since I started dating Kai and we always give each other a chance to look for our mates, but never had any luck.
“By the way, have you found a dress yet?” She turned to me as I shook my head.
“We should go tomorrow. I’m thinking Elsa or Cinderella vibes” She mumbled about her ideas but my mind went back to the man who I shouldn’t even be thinking g about.
“Sounds like a good plan,” I added as she raised her eyebrow
“Did you hear anything I just said?” She asked me as I raised a brow.
“What?”
“I asked you what kind of dress you are thinking. Are you freaking kidding me?” She asked me as I inhaled sharply, nodding my head.
“Sorry... I just…” I was about to say, but stopped picking up Kai’s scent.
“Kai,” we say in unison.
“Hey baby,” I say to him, as he comes closer, wrapping his arms around my waist and scooping me off the ground.
“Hi.” He smiles.
I love his smile. I would spend hours staring at him when we first started dating, just to see him smile.
“Missed me?”
“Of course I did.” I cup his face, planting a kiss on his lips. He deepened the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
‘Umm...” Michy clears her throat
“Guys,” she says as I chuckle, pulling away from Kai...
‘Don’t tell me you are jealous of seeing us?” Kai chuckles as she makes faces, mimicking his words.
“No! I need to go home. If you guys want to… um…” she stutters
“Can I meet you later?” I asked him, and he nodded his head as I kissed him.
“Seems like someone is in a bad mood today, or is it the hormones?”
He smirks before leaving.
“Really?”
She turns to me as I shrug my shoulders. I don’t know what she’s talking about.
‘Don’t turn around. But the hot dude is watching us’ She mind links to me.
I turn around, trying to find him. “What the hell” She sounds pissed.
“What?”
“I told you not to look,” she scoffs as my eyes meet with the man who just turns around and walks away.
‘You cut me short because of that?” I asked.
“Well, he seemed pissed watching the two of you” She shrugs her shoulders, walking away as I shake my head, following her.
“I can’t believe this,” I say as I catch up with her.
“Listen, I have been with guys several times. That look he had isn’t just someone who is stalking. Be careful with him,” she says, opening the gate to their yard.
“Serious?”
“Have I ever said anything like this to you?” She raises her eyebrow as I swallow hard, nodding my head.
“Whatever he wants. I don’t think there’s anything good coming from him,” she says, kissing my cheek before walking into the yard.
Be careful? What can I do? The man will be with us for God knows how long..
