Elara's POV

The sound of feet crunching against the floor and being jostled carelessly was what snapped me out my daze.

What's going on? Was the first question that came to my mind as I swung my head up to take in my surrounding, the sudden movement nearly knocking me out again as pain exploded in head.

For a moment, I was lightheaded. I remained stiff for a second taking a deep breath to adjust to the ache at the back of my head. When I tried to look again, I was cautious. However, I didn't recognize a single thing.

With the trees, and the canopy of leaves above, I could tell I was still in the woods but it was definitely not within the pack territory. If this isn't the pack, where was this place and who was carrying me?

Finally, I looked down at my mode of transportation, and my heart dropped.

I didn't recognize him either.

I tried to move only to find out that was impossible. My arms and legs were tied.

Shit.

“Oh you are finally awake.” The man carrying me chuckled.

Andrew's POV“What kind of Alpha am I?” I yelled as I threw a punch at the wall.I was in my office unable to do anything but pace the room. How could I let my mate get kidnapped under my nose?“Calm down Andrew.” Michael spoke, his tone even as he watched me from where he leaned against the door, his arms folded across his chest. “It wasn't your fault. We were all distracted by our individual fights that we didn't even notice what was going on next to us.”I stabbed my fingers through my hair, as frustration at my powerlessness threatened to consume me. “Does that even matter?” I asked exasperation tinging my tone. “She's not like any other member, she is my mate Michael.”“Like I said before, it isn't your fault. The whole place was in chaos.” He stated.“Yet…”“I don't think you should be thinking of what happened.” Michael suggested pushing away from the door, as he made his way towards my table. “What we should be doing now is strategizing how to get her back.”Michael was right.

Michael’s POV“Are you sure we're going the right way?” Greg asked, as we dashed through the woods as fast as we could in human form. For sometime, I too have been doubting the road we took to get Elara back. But then I remembered the last time I heard a rumor about Shadow Fang Pack. I remember being told it's easy to get to as they live just at the outskirts of Howling Ridge.“I'm positive. It is said that the mountain we see standing at our town’s border is their lair,” I replied, focusing on the path ahead of us.It's been over an hour that we set out to find Elara and yet we have been unable to find a trace of them. The only good thing at this point is that I knew where their mountain was, if not, it would've been way more difficult.“We need to be on the lookout for any sneak attacks. That pack has no dignity.” I advised.Deveruid is known to be malicious and could do anything to achieve his goals. That's what gave him the audacity to invade the pack and kidnap our Alpha’s mate.

Elara's POVWhen we arrived at the foot of the mountain, I was worried that Theo would have to climb it. I didn't know how he was going to do it, but I knew it would be more uncomfortable than riding on his shoulder hanging upside down.Luckily, that wasn't necessary as there was a cave at the foot of the mountain that connected to different parts of the mountain.“You should've said something.” I muttered. “You knew I was worried about you scaling this mountain with me on your back.”He shrugged. “Everyone thinks the same whenever they come here for the first time. I just enjoy the look of surprise whenever they see a cave.”“You have a weird sense of humor.”“And I think you should shut up.”I wanted to argue, but I thought better of it. The threat he issued to me on the way here was still fresh in my mind. The last thing I need is someone breaking my bones.Immediately we passed through the opening, we were shrouded by darkness. The only source of light, was the torch lit on a lon

Lora's POVThe scent of pine trees, and damp earth filled my nose as I rushed through the woods.I needed to get there in time. I needed to get to the Shadow Fang Pack before it's too late. As I ran, my mind went back to a time earlier today when I needed to clean the corridors of the pack house. It was my turn after all and any form of delay would translate to punishment. I had done half of the work when I got to Alpha Dorian’s side. For some reason, he had decided to own a room in the pack house. Most alphas would prefer to have their places away from the disturbance of the pack but not him.I was lost in thought as I drew closer to the door when voices from the room drew me out of my revelry. There were two voices. One was definitely his, while the other one, I didn't recognize.I didn't plan on eaves dropping on his conversation with someone I didn't know but when I'm a werewolf and he was a tad bit loud, I couldn't help my natural instincts from kicking in.“He has invaded the S

Lora’s POVThings had just turned worse with the appearance of Dorian. I couldn't help but worry about what Mira would soon be spouting to the Alpha. How long had she been behind me?“I just caught this good for nothing pressed against your door eavesdropping on whatever you were discussing inside.”Dorian's eyes narrowed as he stepped out, shutting the door behind him. “Is this true?” He asked turning his dark eyes on me, his arms crossed.“I…I was just—” I stammered unable to come up with a coherent sentence as my wits fled me.“Shut up.” Mira ordered. “Don't dare lie in my presence.”“I asked a simple question. Is this true?” His voice had gone low, growing cold.“I won't call it eavesdropping per se,” I began as terror ran through my body. “I was just mopping the floor when I heard voices.”“What did you hear?” He asked stepping closer.“No…nothing. I heard nothing, I swear. I just arrived.” I said quickly, taking a step back. It was like or get some unfathomable punishment. And

Michael’s POVWaking up, my vision was a bit blurry until I sat up. The first thing that assaulted my senses was the stench of the place. It smelt like something had died and was rotting away somewhere close by. The temperature was humid, making it even worse.Where's this place?I looked down sharply feeling something prick me in my hand. It was the dart I caught and it was still loaded with the evil I was shot with.I decided to take it back to pack if we escaped this prison.I looked around wondering how I got here. I noticed that my pack members were still passed out. This place is degrading as hell. The last thing I remembered was being shot while I growled at Deveriud. I shot up, ignoring how the roo… no cage swarm around me.That was a mistake and it cost me. I should've kept my cool but I allowed the emotions of the moment to cloud my senses.Who would've thought that Deveruid would set up that kind of trap for us. I knew he would be prepared for our attack but to cage us in a

Lora's POVWhen I opened the door, the man that stood in front of me that somehow turns out to be my mate, stared at me as if in a daze. What's with him staring at me like I was the most strange object he has ever seen.Amused, I had to ask if he was coming. That was what snapped him out of his mindless stance.Seems I'm not the only one whose wolf has taken a mate. From the way he looked at me, it was as if he wasn't expecting me.So was I.“Right.” He nodded while he turned to his burly friend who seemed to be holding back a smile but failing miserably. “Go, wake the others up while I and the young lady free those in the other cage.”Young lady? He couldn't come up with something more original. I will have to set him straight once he is out of that place.I waited till when we were in front of the opposite cage while his friend busied himself with barking and kicking the sleeping men up.I shook my head. “Is that how behaves? Quite unruly.”“Can't blame him. That's how he behaves wh

Elara's POVAhhhhh. This is getting really frustrating. How am I supposed to escape this place?I don't know how long I have been here, but I knew it should be over a few hours— judging by how long I've been sitting here lost in my thought—since Deveruid had paid me a visit. From his words, it seemed my only hope for an escape had already been captured. I was sure before another search party will be sent to find us, we would've been long dead.I didn't know his plans for me, but there was no doubt that nothing good was going to come out of it.Deveruid didn't tell me who must have hinted that I had the veiled sight and set him on this path. The only person I'm sure I told was Andrew and no one else. The crazy part is that it was just mere hours ago. Who could've figured that I had this power before I could fully understand what I thought was a curse was actually a gift.It seems like I have a formidable enemy. If I'm able to get out of this place alive, I promise to track whoever is s

Elara's POVThe name on the note stared back at me like a ghost from the past. Kieran. There was something about it that set me off. Was the veiled sight reacting to the name?My pulse pounded in my ears like I had been running some kind of marathon. I tried to concentrate on the way I was reacting to this but I came up blank. What was it with this name?I had never met him, and the name looked as foreign to me as a language I had no idea even existed. But judging from their faces, they knew who he was. “Mind telling me who this Kieran guy is?” I asked holding up the paper to them. “I've never heard of him before but for him to get you in this mood, he must mean something.”Despite the turmoil going on inside me, I had opted for casual tone to avoid getting them any more agitated.Lora nodded like she knew who this guy was. Was I the only one who didn't know him? I came to this pack before her yet she seemed know more than I ever did.But my guess was Michael had filled her in on who

  • The Cursed Luna And Her Ruthless Alpha   Chapter 168

Elara’s POVThe tension in the air was thick enough to choke on. After the council had made their decision, it felt almost irreversible. But then Andrew stood at the center of it all—torn, conflicted, silent when I needed him loud. His hesitation was a wound that cut deeper than the accusations against me.Apart from the time he spoke up about me being watched closely, he hadn't said much. Not that it mattered now.I didn’t have time to dwell on it. There was so much to think about than a broken bond and a falling relationship.Three days. That was all I had before the trial, and I wasn’t going to sit around and wait for them to decide my fate.I needed answers. And I needed them fast. It's a good thing I enlisted the help of Micheal and Lora. With me under the kind of scrutiny I was, it would be difficult to look into certain matters without getting in trouble. It seems the troublesome duo didn't account for the fact that I would still have people willing to assist despite the accus

  • The Cursed Luna And Her Ruthless Alpha   Chapter 167

Andrew’s POVThe council chamber was suffocating. I can't remember the last time I had entered this place. If I was being sincere, it was probably my father died and I kicked Mara out. The council wanted to put me under trial but after some thought, they dropped everything. The former alpha had been acting off in recent times but none of them had the gal to call him out.I just had to take matters in my hands.I stood at the front, Elara beside me, but we felt miles apart. She hadn’t looked at me since last night. Not really. Not the way she used to.I didn’t blame her. I kind of—okay I actually let her down when I couldn't back her up when she needed me.But then I was still confused about how I felt about her. The bond between us was broken, and I felt the absence of it like a missing limb. But that wasn’t an excuse for my silence. I should have fought harder for her.I would. I had to. At least to make for yesterday. I just hope this turns out. At the end, It was my fault we were h

Elara’s POVI turned to Andrew. He had supported me earlier. I was counting on that support again. I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate. I just knew he would defend me, even though our mate bond was history.Even now, with the weight of Mara’s accusations pressing against my ribs like a vice, I thought—no, hoped—he would stand by me.At least for old times sake, he would stand beside me on this matter. But when I met his eyes, my stomach dropped. He looked at me, but not the same way he looked normally looked at me. I admit that ever since I broke our mate bond, I've been avoiding him but it was not like something I wanted. It was either that or cry over what was lost and I was done crying. And I hoped he understood but it was obvious he didn't. Hiving him a good look since the day I made the sacrifice, I noticed he had changed over the past few days. He didn't come to find me, he hadn't said anything to me even though I tried to stay away. But that aside, staring into his eyes, I wa

Elara’s POVThe room fell into stunned silence immediately the words fell from Mara's lips.Mara’s words hung in the air like a curse. How the hell did she know? I made sure no one was wiser about the incident. In fact it turned out to favor me even though I had to take the poison to save the pack. But I knew no matter how I explained it to this pack, they would never understand once they found out the truth. My pulse pounded in my ears, a roaring sound drowning out the whispers spreading through the gathered wolves. Heat rushed to my face, but not from embarrassment—rage burned through me, sharp and electric. But beneath it was fear. Because it meant there was someone monitoring me in this pack. And no, it wasn't Tom. There was another traitor.I took a step forward, my voice cutting through the tension. “That’s a lie.”There was no way I was admitting to trying to kill them. Before that day, they treated me like trash. How would they treat me if they knew the truth?Mara smirked, t

  • The Cursed Luna And Her Ruthless Alpha   Chapter 164

Andrew’s POVThe fire crackled in the center of the gathering hall, its warmth doing nothing to chase away the cold knot in my chest.I was alive. I should have been grateful. I was grateful. In fact I was happy about it.But I felt wrong. Everything felt wrong. My second chance at life felt incomplete like something was missing. It was almost like I’d been stitched back together, but some pieces were missing. Pieces that made life have more meaning.I barely remembered the moment I came back, but I remembered the emptiness. The way I’d looked at Elara and felt nothing where there had once been everything.I have lived long and content till I found out that she was my mate and now that I've lost the said mate bond, I didn't feel the same despite living without it long ago. Now, as I sat at the head of the long wooden table, surrounded by my pack, I could feel the weight of their stares. The questions in their eyes.I didn't exactly tell them that Elara was my mate, but now they knew d

Andrew’s POVBlinding pain. That was the first thing I felt. It was raw, searing, like fire scorching every nerve in my body. It ripped through me, dragging me back from the darkness, forcing breath into my lungs like I’d been drowning.I gasped, my body jerking, my heart pounding so hard it hurt. My chest ached, my limbs felt like lead, and my head throbbed with a sharp, splintering pain. But I was alive. How? I was very sure that I had seen the white light most people spoke about when they were about to die.I sucked in another breath, the scent of earth and rain thick in the air, grounding me. My fingers twitched against cool grass, and slowly, slowly, I forced my heavy eyelids open.Blurry figures hovered above me.Voices—soft, urgent—filtered through the haze.“Elara?” My throat was raw, my voice barely more than a rasp.Silence.Then a sharp inhale. A shuffle of movement as if someone was approaching.“Elara,” I tried again, forcing my body to move. My muscles screamed in protes

Elara’s POVThe world around me had blurred into nothing but Andrew. His face was too pale, his breath barely there, his body unmoving except for the shallow rise and fall of his chest—too slow, too weak.I pressed my forehead against his, my fingers trembling as they brushed over his cheek. “Stay with me,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “You promised, Andrew. You promised.”But he wasn’t responding. His lips were parted, his breathing ragged. His skin, which was always warm, always alive, felt cold beneath my touch. A terrifying stillness settled over him, and I felt something deep inside me crack.“We’re losing him!” Lora’s voice was sharp, urgent.I looked up, desperate, my vision blurred with unshed tears. “I think it's high time you start talking.”Michael’s jaw clenched. He didn’t speak. Didn’t move. Because he didn’t know how to tell me what I needed to know. I was about to grab him and make him tell me what I needed to know when someone else spoke up.A voice. Elara POVDorian staggered back. I'm sure he didn't anticipate that move. Did he really think I was going to soak up all his words and leave just like that?Did he really think I was some dumb fool? For the first time, his face twisted in something that almost looked like shock. His shadows flickered, unstable, the thick, oppressive weight of his power suddenly less.My energy pulsed again, silver light pushing outward like ripples in a storm. The air between us cracked, charged with something beyond my understanding. And then, just like that, the grip of his power broke. I wasn't sure what I was doing but one thing I knew was: I tried to push his power back and it worked.Dorian took another step back, his lips parting slightly, as if tasting the change in the air. His smirk returned, but it was thinner now, tighter.“Well,” he murmured, brushing invisible dust off his sleeve. “That was… unexpected.”Just as I thought, he actually took me to be a dumb person. After all the shit he ha
