There was a knock on my door and Lucian came in.

“What are you doing here?” I’d taken on some of his work to make sure he spent more time guarding my mate. Although I’d assigned her warriors, none of them were as competent as Lucian or even as trustworthy.

“I got some disturbing news just now,” he said. “It seems like Blood Moon is preparing for war.”
