Chapter Seventeen

Anita's pov

My eyes weren't able to capture anyone around. Even as I turned around every minute, no one was there.

I jumped up to the tree, cutting a branch from the tree which I could use as a protection and shield in case it was a sent assassin to kill me.

I moved away from the tree and started entering into the bush to find the person trying to spy on me. After searching for what seemed like two hours, I became exhausted.

Maybe someone had been sent to kill me here while I was sleeping. I thanked the Moon Goddess that at least I was able to hear the sounds of his footsteps. Now, I won't come here any longer before something bad happens to me.

I trailed out of the hills with speed in my steps, entering into the slave quarters panting. Madam Betty wasn't around when I got in. My eyes were scanning the hall for her. Then, I walked to my cell, snailing into it like a rat.
