Beatrice shook her head and smiled at him. She liked when he laughed, especially since it was so rare nowadays. “But yeah, you’re right. Thanks for everything, Duncan. Really, thank you so much for the land and assisting my people, I know if you had assisted, it would be almost impossible to find a way around my land issues. You have no idea how much I appreciate that.”

“Of course, Beatrice. Anytime. Always, if not for anything at least for how bad I must have treated you in the past.” 

He reached out and pulled her into another hug, one she was not expecting but she needed 

She held onto him and felt at ease, at home. His masculine smell evaded her senses and she loved it. 

“Now come on, let’s get something to eat. I’m starving!” He said as he pulled away from their embrace.
