ODEYA
It had been two days since I went back to the forest; I had missed training all because of a boy that doesn't care about me. Sighs, I had two hours of prepping myself before packing my bags with water, energy drinks, and some vitamins like I always did.“Darling, grab some spinach on your way back. I'll be using them for dinner.” Mom peered from the kitchen as I ran down the stairs.“Okay, Mom. Love you!” I responded, running out the door. I heard her respond to me as I reached the porch.Getting on my bike, I started riding to my favorite spot in the world. Soon, I reached and chained my bike like I always did before going to the clearing I train at. However, as I reached, I saw someone sitting on the floor and resting his back against a huge tree with his eyes closed. He was wearing black jeans and a black shirt again. He looked calm with his eyes closed, I wished he could always be calm like this. Remembering how he had raised his voice at me, I hardened my face and looked away; going to drop my things at the other large tree in the clearing.“Why are you here?” I asked, my voice cold.“Finally!” I heard him sigh in relief and hear him stand before walking toward me.“You should go, I found this place first.” I kept my eyes focused on my bag as I unpacked. I could feel him behind me, he had neared me already.“Technically, I found this place first. I knew the first day you came here and I saw your train all by yourself. Don't worry, I didn't tell my dad or anyone,” I heard him say behind me. I was stunned, he didn't tell on me? Wow, I thought Herald was really as mean as his father. I turned to him, anger bubbling in me.“Then why did you yell at me the other day? I was here waiting for you to come. I even stayed longer than I usually do just because I wanted to see you; to talk to you...” I paused and looked at him when I realized I had said too much. However, Herald seemed to enjoy my confession as he smirked, showing off his dimples. My cheeks turned red from embarrassment and I turned away from him.“I missed you too, I have been coming here for two days now, just to see you again. Watching you train became a habit that I can't even do without now. That particular day I had been offended by my dad, he said shit about me not being a potential Alpha because I am not as wicked as he is...” He paused, breathing in and then I turned to him.I saw that he was offended by whatever his father must have told him, there were raw emotions in his eyes. That got to me.“It is not an excuse to yell at you, I am sorry. That will be the first and the last.” He looked into my eyes and smiled before spreading his arms.I was reluctant to go into them because this version of Herald wasn't the version I was told. Hence I was scared this version would fade away very soon.Suddenly, I felt him freeze against my body. This made me disengage from him and for the first time, I saw Herald tremble, terrifyingly. He was staring at something hence I trailed his gaze and saw that he was looking at a rope that had fallen off my bag.Is he scared of ropes? I wondered, watching him gag in fear.“The rope?” I asked, and to my surprise, he nodded.Without asking any further questions, I reached for the rope and hid it back in my back. Turning back around, Herald had fallen to the floor and pulled his knees to his chest, while still trembling.“It's gone, no ropes!” I told him, moving closer.I took his hands in mine gently, trying to comfort him. Herald turned to me, his face filled with trepidation.“No ropes, Huh? No ropes?” Herald looked really terrified and it scared me, I felt bad for him and just pulled him in a hug without saying anything.“I will protect you from ropes every day, Herald,” I whispered but loud enough for him to hear.* *Herald and I became friends that day. He came and trained me every day and I got better with my sword and left hand. Herald even gave me a special silver sword, he said it belonged to him and he wanted me to have a special part of him.We weren't dating because he didn't ask me out and I didn't want him to. We are werewolves whose partners had been decided by the moon goddess. Who knows we might not be destined for each other. Also, Mom and Dad had warned me never to be in a relationship with a man that wasn't my mate. Hence, I loved our platonic relationship. However, that night, Herald kissed me in a way that seemed like we were departing. It was as though we would never see each other again and I asked him but he said we would see again. He said he would come back for me. His response wasn't very assuring but I didn't ask any further questions and we just stayed under the moon, watching its beauty. He did tell me again;“You got my first kiss, never forget that.”SEVEN YEARS LATERToday, Herald never came back. I came to the same spot every day but he never came back for me like he had promised. After Herald left that day, I heard that Luna who was also Herald’s mother had died not long after the day he kissed me. I wondered if this was the reason he left and never came back.I became so attached to Herald that I couldn't think of any man but him. I have been due for the moon festival for about two years now, but still, I did not go. This was because I was scared, I was scared I would be mated to a man I would never fall in love with. No one should ever experience that from their mate hence I would avoid the moon festival until I have finally gotten over my feeling for Prince Herald. No, he is now Alpha Herald.“Hey, are you going to write in your diary until nightfall or come train with me?” her voice sounded and this made me raise my head to her. Her purple fringe got stuck to her forehead because of the sweat. It was my best friend, Katya. Yes, she came back after a year of leaving. Such a bitch! She left me to read for an exam she never actually passed.I should be unhappy about it but I never was, in fact, I was extremely happy. No one is leaving Darkjade Pack to study Medicine science in the human world!“I’m coming, I know you miss me.” I laughed as I joined her.We started to spar, her coming at me and me avoiding her punches.“Come on, what are we doing for Debby’s party?” I asked as I turned around avoiding her punch. She smiled and turned to me.“Didn’t you see the group chat? We made plans for a surprise party. Don't tell me you slept off again.” Katya glared at me while I widened my eyes. I had truly slept off.Katya made use of my shocked state and tackled me to the floor, she sat on my stomach and used one hand to pin my hands over my head before using her other hand to slap my cheeks playfully.I screamed and laughed at the same time while throwing my legs in the air hoping I’d be able to get her off but it was futile.“Daughter of a fucking bitch!” I screamed.ODEYA. Evening, I and Katya went to my house. She told me her mother was drinking and smoking again hence she would stay at my home. It wasn't the first time Katya slept over at my house because of her mom. Getting home, we heard dad screaming as we opened the door. Fear grew in me immediately. “Dad,” I screamed and ran toward the direction the scream came from - which was the kitchen. However, I found my dad under my mom, and my mom slapped his face playfully. “You bastard, you ate the last cookie!” She slapped him again, playfully countless times while Dad playfully screamed as if it hurts. I rolled my eyes but inwardly I was happy, my parents are so in love with each other. “Good evening, Mrs. Blake.” Katya greeted my mom behind me. Mom turned and saw us, she still sat on top of my dad. “You children can go, don't say anything cause I am going to kill this man with my hands!” She screamed before returning to dad. I laughed before dragging Katya with me. “I was just trying t
ODEYA. I didn't believe what dad had said, I didn't want to believe it. Is this the reason Katya hadn't come to see me in the last three weeks after Debby’s party? I asked myself as I rummage through my clothes. After finding a sunflower short dress, I put it on and then brush my hair into a bun. Dad was still in my room, hence he looked at me as I walked out of my closet.“Where are you going?” He asked, standing up.“Don’t worry, Dad. I'll be back soon,” I told him before grabbing my car key off the table. Entering my car, and driving off to her house, my mind became occupied with thoughts. I had told Katya about Herald and me. She knows how much I adored him and how I am waiting for him to come back to me hence I am wondering why and how she became his new Queen. That should be me. Soon, I reached the foyer of her house and then I got out of my car. I saw another car parked next to where I parked mine but I didn't mind and just went in. Getting into her house, it reeked of ciga
Dad told me Katya had reported to the Alpha that a woman was pregnant out of wedlock, the disciplinary committee had ordered for that woman to be stoned to death for committing debauchery. The woman was me. Fortunately for us, one of dad’s loyal man was there and he heard them, he quickly informed my dad about it. Mom sobbed holding my hand while I stared into the air wondering the level of betrayal Katya was going to stop at. There was another rule against women in the pack, we are not allowed to get pregnant by any man that's not our mate, it was counted as a sin. The disciplinary committee would decide the person’s judgment, I guess mine was to be stoned to death. Mom told me to leave immediately. They added that I couldn't take my phone along and we couldn't contact each other because the disciplinary committee would hack into our phone’s network and listen to every conversation. With tears in my eyes, I left my mom and dad. Aside from that, Mom and Dad would be watched from now
ODEYA. I left the poop on my clothes and then went back to the cracked wall, I placed the foil tape over it and cared less if the poop continued to burst out of it and stained my hands. It was useless to cry now, this was my situation and I needed to get used to it. After countless foil tapes, I was able to block the poop from seeping out. Sighing, I washed my hands and went back to a seat at the corner and then watched the rain fall in each bucket. There was no window in the room hence I only had the water from the roof to watch. I was bored out of my mind but it was fine, as long as my baby would be saved. When Lydia came back, I told her about the creaked wall and how it was affecting me. She looked at me with a face of disdain and told me I should choose between food for the next three months and the repair. She reminded me that none of my family could contact her because of the rules in the pack hence they couldn't send her money for me. She had told me to keep my mouth shut
ODEYA I felt humiliated. My family was one of the most influential people in the pack but look at me, and see where I found myself. “What is going on here?!” I heard a rough voice behind me and then a familiar scent hit me. Gently, I turned my head to the direction. Standing behind the kids was Claire, my mother figure. I met Claire one time when she came to see the condition of the Janitor’s closet. I heard she was the new sponsorer of the school which was ironic. No one ever wants to invest in the commoner's school. When Claire saw me with my babies, she felt bad for us and our living conditions hence she promised she was going to take care of us. I hadn't seen her since then until now. Although I never saw her, I thought of her as a mother. The way she talked and cared for me was exactly like that of my mother. “Pack your bags, you are coming with me.” She uttered while I was wiping my body with the water she made the students bring to me. Claire was able to dismiss the kids
ODEYAGetting to the room, I saw my three babies on the marble floor, with blood coming out their mouths. Hysterically, I ran to them and fell beside them; shaking them and their faces. “Wake up, Savanna... Austin, wake up!” I called their names but they kept vomiting blood. “Call the ambulance, now!” I screamed at those behind me just watching me. “Please, wake up, babies!” I cried, still slapping their faces. A few minutes later, the ambulance came and took my children to the hospital. I sat by their side on the small bus, watching the nurse fix something on their faces. Tears grew in my eyes and my entire body shook. They have never been sick, they were always hale and hearty hence seeing them in this condition was scary. “Are they going to be okay?” My voice broke as I asked the question. * * * Two days later, my babies were better. Claire often came with their favorite foods since I couldn't leave them to prepare them good food. Claire was nothing but a blessing to me, I d
ODEYAIt was as though I was glued to the floor, coupled with the hardness of pulling my face away from them. Thankfully, I wasn't noticed by them. Alpha Arden and my ex-best friend walked past me without noticing me which was a good thing. Getting myself, I felt something roll down the corner of my eyes. They were tears, and I was quick to wipe them off before they got any further. There was no reason to cry over spilled beans especially now that I have three reasons to be happy every day. To wake up and move on. I went to the location where I had a meeting with my client. It was a restaurant on neutral ground like Claire’s house and company, this was because Claire didn't want to have any bond with the pack that had once betrayed her. All businesses on neutral grounds are accessible to all wolves and there was no centralized government. On getting in, I found out there was no more table except the VIP golden villa and they had only one of its kind which was worth a whooping ten th
HERALD “You are weak!” A punch to my knee and the sound of my bones crushing became the next sound. I groaned, breathing out heavily while taking the pain in. Father didn't wait for the bones to go back into their place, he gave another hard punch, saying, “How can you be my successor with your weak traits just like your fucking mother!” He grunted as his hand came in contact with my skin, crushing my bone again. This time, my bones came out of my skin and blood ran down my leg. “Damn it, fuck!” I groaned, biting down on my lower lips to stop myself from showing weakness. Still, it hurt. It hurt so much still, the man that birthed me didn't care. I was tied up - my hands- with a rope to the ceiling of the cell. My body weight was killing me, my wrist was hurting, tingling from the rope. It hurt badly. So badly. “Stop, Teran, stop! Please, he is our son. Stop hurting him!” Mom begged behind the cage doors, stretching her hands through the open space of the gate. Her cries, screams,
