Clearing the air, I breathed in the smoke- Daylight
Third Person POV A black object jumped down, and it was Griffin. It looked straight at Kurt, "I've been waiting for you guys here for a long time." The far lights of the car made Griffin's ruby-red eyes shine like they never had before. Kurt shrugged and opened the car door, "Listen, I made a mistake. You were faster!" Then he raised his hands after stepping out of the car because Griffin assumed an attacking stance. "Griffin!" Knowing what would happen to the pack if Griffin did attack him, Keira hurriedly stepped out of the car to go in front of Kurt. Just as the atmosphere froze, a Black Bugatti came with a louder and higher-pitched engine sound, which attracted all their attention. When the automobile made a sharp curve and came to a stop next to us, it emitted a low, rumbling sound as though in the demonstration. Three seconds later, the engine eventually stopped down, and a towering male with a gaze that could freeze others exited the car. "Thank you for bringing her back; n
Keira POV I followed Rhoda and began to wonder when I saw that she continued attempting to avoid the busy path. "Come on, let's take the shortcut; Alpha is waiting for us." Rhoda gave me a quick, irritated glance. As we finally made it to the south side of the forest, I said, "Where is Augustine?" There was no trace of him when I looked about. I shook my head and kept up with her. "Let's go inside; he's over there." Rhoda shrugged, snapped off a tiny daisy, and moved deeper into the woods. I had to follow, even if I was a little confused. The worst that may occur is that she might deceive me. I reassured myself that Rhoda shouldn't act excessively. I exhaled with relief and carried on after her. "Are you aware of how long Augustine and I have known each other?" Rhoda walked in a straight path and asked me without turning around. "What?" She brought up the fact that Augustine had once told me, but I didn't understand why she brought it up. "He was taken home by my uncle when I
Keira POV When my wolf told me, my heart began to pound and my thoughts went blank. I tried to stay awake and sore by clenching my hands while my nails dug deeply into my skin. My God, you've always wanted this, and now it's become a reality! If this is a fake, I had better wake up from this dream because losing something you've already owned will break your heart a thousand times more. Only the knowledge that I had finally shifted and that this gorgeous, enormous wolf was MINE helped me get up shakily once the pain in my palm subsided for a short while. "Really?" I held my breath as I awaited the long-overdue response. "Yes. Name me, Keira." She came up to me and licked my hand. A name? When I was very young, I gave my wolf three names, and there was a time when I felt as though all I had done had been in vain. Finally, I can remove those three names from the memory drawer, set them in the sun, and allow the wind to blow the dust off them. "Aura, Silvy and Enid!" With eyes tha
Keira POV "Keira you OK?" Silvy's concerned voice pulled me back to reality. It appeared as though I had been plucked from the water and finally broken free from being choked to take a breath. "I'm all right." Silvy's purple eyes caught my attention. How am I expected to remain calm in this situation? I've been the prey. As I leaned against the tree, "Silvy, how did you know this? I mean, the tracker." "I have a gift. I can sense it and determine which pocket has your phone." Silvy put the tip of her nose in the pocket where I had my phone. I nodded, "I was ignorant of it. I erroneously believed that the earrings were merely a gift." I sniffled, "I don't see why he did this; it was something he had planned from the start. Why couldn't we just get along as mates, as my parents did?" When I thought I was about to start crying, I tried to hold my head up, but doing so only made the tears come more quickly down my face. I hate you, Augustine, you made me hate summer. This is the f
Third Person POV"What are you going to do," Stephen, somewhat afraid to approach Alpha, "The cost of a falsehood is difficult to determine, just go get her back.""She needs time to calm down; she shouldn't need to see me right now." Augustine groaned, "I'll have Louis bring her back tomorrow, it looks like our wedding is going to happen soon, otherwise... Stephen, inform the males at the door to postponing today's meeting. I'm going to talk to the elders about the wedding." He stood up, adjusted his watch strap, and strode out.Only after the door closed did Stephen murmur, "I don't think Luna wants to marry you anymore," until the door had almost closed. "Another storm is coming. You said you wouldn't fall in love with her..."In the elders' meeting room.Raul remained silent for a while after learning that Augustine wanted to get married as soon as possible to finish the Luna Ceremony. He knew there was a rift in the relationship between Alpha and Luna, "Have you enquired about her
Keira POV"What's wrong with you, Keira? What took place?" Lynede surprisedly questioned me after noticing that I was drenched in rain and looking pale."Lynede! I..." I started to cry and I wasn't sure if the tears or the rain were falling on my face."Come in, but first let me get you a clean dress." Lynede pulled me inside the house. As soon as the door shut, isolating the sound of the pouring rain outside.I was crying so hard that I found it impossible to speak clearly. I sat on the couch in front of the window with a cup of hot chocolate in my hand, watching the never-ending downpour as Lynede silently dried my hair with a towel."Lynede, I might have to leave here.""What are you saying? You wanna leave our pack?" When Lynede overheard what I said, she knelt down and grabbed my hand tightly, asking, "What's happened?"I told Lynede everything while the occasional lightning strike made her face appear even paler."How could they hurt you like this? Louis really doesn't know ever
Keira POV "You're here, just like I knew you would be." It was the same as on the day of hunting&dancing, except that I say it this time rather than he did. "What are you doing here, it's time to go back." Augustine approached me and attempted to grasp my hand. When I took a step back, clearly he resented my refusal, as seen by the tightening of his sharp jaw. "I don't, Augustine. I only allowed you to find me this time; never again." I removed the earrings from my pocket. There we are again. This was the hill where he had given sinful earrings to me, and my heart mistakenly began to pound. "What are you doing?" The moment I flung them to the ground, his remarks were cut short, and I heard it fall to the ground at the same time as my heart, which had broken into a million pieces. "I'll return them to you in exchange for you returning my freedom." Despite Augustine's worried brow, I continued with a little stubbornness. "Freedom is the last thing a Luna like you should desi
Augustine POV I wondered whether I could have grabbed her if I had been able to escape Rhoda sooner after she leaped since everything I witnessed at that precise moment felt like it had been slowed down. "Griffin!" I allowed my wolf to almost immediately rush over, but when Griffin turned to face me with pathos in his eyes, it seemed as though I had just realized for the first time what it was like to have a broken heart—, it would feel like someone plowed my heart out alive right now, but my soul still kept bleeding. I'm not sure how I managed to escape Rhoda, but I felt like I was walking on a path of thorns as I made my way toward the edge. It was too agonizing. Perhaps Keira had seized a vine or something else as she waited for me to save her, and I moved quickly. But the more I drew near the cliff's brink, the more I became aware of what was ahead. My hands started shaking as soon as I realized what Griffin's eyes were saying. The ground was hidden by thick vegetation as
