“Stop crying, Sweetheart,” Mrs. Morgan tried to calm down Haven.
Haven had been crying since this morning when she came across a situation where she had to tell Mrs. Morgan everything that had happened yesterday.
At first, Mrs. Morgan didn’t believe what Haven said. Because the James she had known was a totally different man. He loved Haven and had plans for their future. This was abrupt.
“He hurt me, Mrs. Morgan. I loved him so much,” Haven cried.
Mrs. Morgan handed her a tissue to wipe her tears. That’s what she has been doing since morning. She couldn’t stop this young girl crying herself to tiredness.
“I know, Haven, you loved him. But what can you do now? The milk has been spilled, it’s gone. Unless you want to…” her words were cut off. “No… no way in hell I would be with him again.”
“Fine, then. Move on from him.”
Haven had fresh tears in her eyes. She wondered why did her world turn upside down! Why did James cheat on her! Did she have a bad personality! Was she lacking anything!
“I can’t,” Haven cried even louder. Mrs. Morgan sighed, leaning into the couch. She had no idea how Haven will cope with this breakup. And she also felt extremely bad for Haven for going through this. She didn’t deserve it in any way. Haven was a sweet girl. How can anyone even think about hurting her!
Just then, Haven’s phone started ringing. She didn’t care to look at who it was. James had not even called or messaged her to explain his actions. Haven thought that James doesn’t even care about her existence now.
Mrs. Morgan picked Haven’s phone and gave it to her. It was her colleague and only close friend, Olivia.
Haven shook her head, saying she doesn’t want to talk to anyone at this moment. She might break down in front of them too.
Mrs. Morgan picked up the call despite Haven’s protest not to. Olivia was Haven’s only friend, and she needed some support apart from the old woman.
Mrs. Morgan informed the current situation to Olivia. And Olivia was fired up. She was a totally different personality from that of Haven. Olivia was a badass woman. She doesn’t take bullshit.
Not long after the phone call, Olivia arrived at Mrs. Morgan’s place.
“What are you still doing here?” Olivia asked as she entered the living room. Olivia was tall and had a slender figure, almost a model.
Haven looked at her friend, and her tears rolled down and sobbed, welcoming her friend.
“You should be breaking his duck and make him pay for this heartbreak you are experiencing. Come on. Let’s go,” Olivia said, walking near Haven.
“No… Oly..”
Olivia felt the pain her friend was going through. If she didn’t understand Haven, who else would!
Olivia sat on the couch and hugged Haven. She rubbed her friend’s back and patted her head, trying to console her.
Olivia softly asked, “Who was it?”
Haven looked up at her. “Huh?”
“The other woman,”
“Ashley. His colleague.”
Olivia’s blood was boiling at this point, “I said you right, she must be kept off-limits when we met her at that party!”
“Yeah. I know. But I thought….”
Olivia cut her off, “That’s the problem. You just blindly believe people. Human beings are not what they show you at first.”
“I got it now,” Haven sobbed harder this time.
“You better get it now. Or else you will end up getting again,” Olivia said, leaning onto the couch.
“What do you mean by that?” Haven asked softly.
“I meant about your future relationships.”
“I am not getting into any kind of relationship again,” Haven mumbled.
Olivia lightly chuckled, “Yeah. Yeah.”
“What yeah yeah?” Haven said throwing her hands out from her jacket.
“What will you do when your real prince charming comes in front of you?” Olivia teasingly asked.
Haven snorted, “Yeah. Prince charming. I will wait. He will come. And we will have a happily ever after.”
“He might come. Who knows?” Mrs. Morgan said.
Haven saw Mrs. Morgan and pouted.
“Whatever. And also, I am not coming to work tomorrow,” Haven informed her friend.
“Why?”
“I am having a pity party. Do you what to come?”
Olivia smirked at her friend. She was aware that Haven is a sensitive girl. And she felt like she had the responsibility to protect Haven from every dangerous thing on this earth.
Over the years, Olivia and Haven’s friendship had grown out of the boundaries. They didn’t have any formalities. They had become more like family. They were soul sisters.
“Fine. I will try to come. That if you need to work hard boss lets me.”
Haven laughed lightly, remembering her boss. The old woman who was their boss had no family, so she always spent her time at work. Because of her, the employees couldn’t log out on time. They had to stay at work until she left.
Olivia rubbed Haven’s hair and said, “Take your time. Call me if you need anything.”
Haven nodded her head as yes. “I swear if I don’t see you at work the day after tomorrow, I’m coming to your home. Or I’ll hunt down that asshole James.”
“Do that,” Haven mumbled.
“Oh, darling. I will definitely do it.”
They simply chat a little, after the pity party plans. Mrs. Morgan was just content to have young people at home. After her husband’s death, she lived alone. She has no kids.
Olivia casually said, “I am just glad that you came home without crashing your car anywhere.” She knew her friend had the ability to do it when she was not stable.
“That’s right. What time did you come home last night? I didn’t see your car driving in,” Olivia asked, curiously.
Haven thought for some time, trying to remember the events from yesterday and also avoiding the memories from the morning.
“I don’t remember.”
“What?” Olivia asked.
Haven explained to them how her car was in need of gas and when she couldn’t find the solution, she cried on the street. “I just remember a man asking me if I needed help and I accepted and got inside my car. That’s it.”
Mrs. Morgan was shocked about how careless Haven was. She could have been kidnapped or worse.
Olivia applauded her friend by clapping hands.
“Excellent. What a wonderful way to reach home! I am so proud of you.”
“I didn’t mean that to happen. I was really tired,” Haven tried to defend herself.
“You should have called me!” Olivia said in a louder tone.
“Sorry,” Haven apologized.
“By the way, was he handsome?” Olivia asked, only to get a hit from the pillow that Haven was hugging. Haven couldn’t believe her friend was rather concerned about the handsomeness of the man.
Waking up to someone banging on your door isn’t ideal for anybody. It’s the same for Haven. She opens the door to an overly dressed Olivia. Olivia had worn black jeans and a flashy top matched with sneakers. Hair neatly styled and make-up, up to the mark. While Haven wore her flower printed pajama that was wrinkled every inch and hair nested and cocooned.“What’s your problem?” Haven asked, sitting on the couch, drawing her knees up to lay her head.“You.” Olivia pointed at Haven, walking inside.“What?” Haven asked slightly annoyed and confused.“You said you will be at work the next day. Now it’s been a week since you walked into the office building. I almost thought you died or something happened again,” Olivia said, pinching Haven’s cheeks.“Aw… don’t do that.” Haven rubbed her cheeks.“Come on. Let’s go out at
“Haven?” Olivia called.“I’m fine, Oly. Don’t worry. Just drop me to my home,” Haven replied and leaned onto the car window. Now they were in their car, going back home. After the revelation from Ashley, Haven was dumbstruck. She couldn’t process what she had just heard. Even Olivia was left speechless. Neither of them thought James would even say that about Haven to anybody.Olivia felt extremely bad for Haven for going through all of this shit. She had nothing to mak
Haven stood in her closet with the only towel draped around her body. She was confused about what to wear. It was her first time visiting a BDSM club. She had no idea what to expect about the club. She only knew she wants to know about BDSM and indulge in it and spice up her sex life.At last, after digging her closet for half an hour, she chose a solid black fit and flare dress. She did her makeup pretty bold and matched her look with high heels. She looked into the mirror. The girl in the mirror looked so much unlike her. But that didn’t matter to her now.She turned around and walked out of her house.
The bright sun peeked into the room and onto Haven’s face. She opened her eyes slightly and looked around the room. She felt like she wasn’t familiar with this environment. She was quick to get up and take down her surrounding.A sudden flash of yesterday night’s events came to her mind. For a moment, she thought she had a one night stand with the man with whom she had left the club. But she was fully clothed. So that didn’t make sense to her. Why would anyone dress up the girl with whom he had a one night stand with?
The night after they exited the club. The man dragged Haven out of the club despite her whining for another drink. He knew better. She was drunk already and he couldn’t risk anything. The bouncer from earlier noticed them and smiled at the man. “Such a brat.”The man smirked and replied, “Yup!”He dragged Haven to his car and made her get ins
Haven’s anxiousness was over the bars. She couldn’t contain her mixed emotions. After reaching home, all she did was mess up things. Spilled milk on the shelf and grill meat over the heat and changed curtains upside down.Haven completed the cooking part around 7:30 PM. She had prepared green chicken, fried rice, and some kebab. The next thing on her agenda was to get ready. Again, she had messed up by applying excess mascara. And had to redo her makeup. She wore a light pink knee-length dress and light m
The more Haven tried to resist Lucas, the more she drowned in his touches. Lucas had snaked his arms around Haven and had her completely straddling him. They were still on the couch.Lucas broke the kiss and looked at Haven. She was a mess already. Her pink dress had wrinkled and rolled up to her upper thighs and her hair was disheveled.Haven was gasping for air. She had never kissed someone like this before. Not even James.
“What?” Haven’s voice almost reached the roof.“Shhh, Haven. Don’t scream loudly. Mrs. Morgan will hear you,” Lucas repeated her words from last night. After the lustful time that they had last night, Lucas stayed back at Haven’s house. They were well spent and had dozed off to deep slumber within minutes. And it wa
“You have really brought your bag?” Haven asked when she saw Lucas getting his bag from her car. She knew she was the one who said to him to get some spare clothes if he was going to stay back at her place. But little did she know that he would really come back prepared.Lucas smirked at Haven’s expression, “Of course. How can I not when you said it yourself.”He walked past her towards her house, “Come soon,” she heard him saying.
After the mission was successful, the team reached their office and the people in their custody were locked in cells until the paper works are done to take them to the court.Lucas got off work immediately after they reached the office, it was pretty late at night. He got into Haven’s car and drove towards her home. He could not wait to reach her home. It was the first time someone was waiting for his arrival at home at the end of the day. He could not wait to see Haven’s reaction when she sees that he has come with a bag. Although she had said it herself, Lucas still wanted to see her reaction about the deal getting real.
Lucas dropped Haven off at her office building and drove towards his house to have a quick shower and change of clothes before going to his workplace. He felt full at heart for some reason. He wondered if it was because of the good night’s sleep or was it because he had been having a hearty breakfast for two continuous days or was Haven alone that was making him feel full and complete. He unlocked his house door and entered. He looked around the place only to find it a little untidy. He had not stayed back at his home for two nights and it was already messy. He suddenly remembered Haven’s words before she exited the car at her workplace, Bring some spare clothes if you are staying back at my place again. Uninte
“What are we buying?” Haven asked Olivia when they reached the mall. Olivia had recently moved into a new home and still had tons of things to unpack and do a makeover to the place. She wanted to buy some new stuff, so she had dragged Haven along with her to shop for them after the office hours.“Two sets of quilts and comforters, Table clothes, artificial plants and grass, candle holders and three lanterns and also a portable table and…,” Olivia named a few and tried to remember more.“You will remember more when you look around,” Haven said making Olivia
Sunlight peeped into Haven’s room. She stirred in her bed and felt a pair of hands holding close enough to his heart. Suddenly reality hit her. She turned around in a swift and saw Lucas. He was peacefully asleep in her bed, holding her close to him. Now that she had some time and Lucas was asleep, she spent her time to trace her finger tip on Lucas’ face and inspect him thoroughly. She noticed that he had a small mark on his jaw and a few scratch marks on his face, right below his left eye. She wondered how did he get them.“If you are done scanning my face, please let me know,” Lucas said, his eyes still closed.
When Haven realized they had reached her home, she looked at Lucas and thought if she should invite him. After two thoughts, she spoke, “Do you want to come in?”“Yes. I have fallen for you,” he whispered the last word.“Huh?” She was sure that she had heard him correctly.“I have fallen for your food. I hope you will feed me some,” he rubbed his stomach with his hands to explain with actions.
“Is he the guy who left your house this morning?” Haven heard Olivia’s voice from behind.Haven had totally forgotten that she was still at the office and Lucas had visited him here. She closed her eyes and held the edge of her skirt tightly. She can swear she heard Lucas and Olivia snort at her action. She slowly turned to Olivia and smiled, “He is Lucas. My..”
Haven knocked on her boss, Ms. Harris’ cabin door. She was asked to meet her boss by the assistant.“Come in,” Haven heard from inside. She opened the door inwardly and entered the cabin.Ms. Harris was a very well organized person. Her work table had no hint of dirt and no personal things except for her mobile phone.“Please have a seat, Haven,” Ms. Harris pointed the chair in front of her desk. Haven nodded and did as she was told.
Haven wasn’t really shocked to see Olivia in her workplace. It was expected of Olivia to wait for her friend for a few reasons. One, could be for a morning greeting. Two, could be that Mrs. Morgan had filled in about the guy who left Haven's house in the morning.Haven slightly smiled at Olivia, “Hey, Oly.”Olivia turned the chair to see Haven, looking as fresh and pleasant anyone could look. There was a hint of glow and blush on her cheeks.“Wassp?” Olivia blew her nails. It seem
