Chapter 08 Consequence

“How’s your feeling?” she asked when we arrived in front of her house.

I gave her a sweet smile, “Thank you for making me feel free. That really helped me a lot.”

She patted my shoulder, “We both enjoyed it. If you’re feeling down, you should always go there.”

I nodded at her.

I’m going now,” she said.

“Goodnight.”

As I arrived in my condo, I saw Aeron and Josh lying down on the sofa while hugging each other’s feet. I shooked my head but I didn’t bother to wake them up because I know that they are also tired. I put the mess on the trash can. I stopped from cleaning when I notice something glowing.

I remember Bavina, she’s always wearing this necklace because I always notice this everytime we meet. I put it in my pocket and cleaned the mess before I went to my room to take a half bath.

After I went out to my bathroom, I still can’t remove my smile on my face. I can’t get off of her in my mind. In my entire life, she’s the only one who made me scream like that earlier.

I don’t believe in screaming to be okay, but when she was the one who said it, I felt like she’s the goddess who can make me okay just by screaming.

She’s adorable, she’s full of happiness. I can’t put into words how amaze I am to her.

I pulled her necklace from my pocket and put it on the table beside my bed.

Tomorrow is like my new reborn because of what I’ve said earlier in our concert.

I lied down, I licked my lower lip when I saw her face as I looked at the ceiling.

D*mn, what’s happening?! This feeling is strange to me, this is the first time that I felt this kind of feeling. I’m not aware with this!

Bavina’s POV

“You haven’t found it?” I shouted at Shia who’s in the living room.

“No, where did you remove it?!”

“I didn’t remove it for pete’s sake, Shia!” I shouted out of frustration.

I removed all my books in the shelf to find my necklace.

I don’t know where I lost it! I just woke up without my necklace already! I can’t lose it because Dad gave me the necklace as his gift when I passed my application to study in the university I’m studying.

I’ve been looking for it for an hour, I even looked at the entire house just to find my necklace but I got disappointed because I can’t find it anymore. I leaned my back on the wall as I slowly sat on the floor and bend my head.

I’m so st*pid! Out of all my things to be lost, why my necklace?!

“Hey, get change already! It’s getting late! Let’s find it again after the class!” I heard Shia said from outside of my room but I just ignored her.

I lied on my bed and put my pillow on my face to force myself not to cry.

“Hey, Bavina Gazelli! Get up!”

“No! I don’t wanna go to school!” I shouted.

Shia didn’t bother me and I heard her foot steps, looks like she’s going to prepare to go to university.

I bit my pillow to force myself not to cry again. I’m so worthless to keep it! Aaaa!

“Aish!” I said out of frustration as I kicked the air but I suddenly got up when I felt that I kicked someone.

“What the f---”

I saw Paul who’s looking at me, his eyebrows met while his hand is on his chest.

“Hey, are you okay?!” I asked as I stood up.

“Why are you suddenly kicking me?!” he asked while he’s caressing his chest, it seems like I kicked him on his chest.

“Does it hurt?” I asked innocently.

He looked at me from head to toe, “Why aren’t you still changing? We will be late, get change.”

I sat as I took a deep breath, “I’m lazy.”

“Is this because of yesterday?” he asked, I looked at him as I shooked my head.

“I lost my necklace,” I said with a sad tone.

“You can buy new necklace,” he answered, I gave him a look with no emotion.

“Do you wanna get kick again? That was my Dad’s gift!” I whined.

He laughed, “Fix yourself, we will be late. I’ll wait for you in my car.”

I watched him walking to get out of my room. I stood up with disappointment before I went in my cabinet to wear my uniform.

“Shia said she will try to go to your first subject to attend the class, she has something to buy first,” Paul said as I get in the car, I nodded.

I’m just silent while we’re on our way, I’m not in a mood to speak. All I can hear is the sound of the aircon.

“Aren’t you really gonna talk to me?” he asked in the middle of his driving but I didn’t answer him.

“Do you have a picture of your necklace? We can ask f---”

“Nah, it’s okay. It’s my fault, I didn’t take good care of it,” I said as I cut his lines without looking at him.

When we arrived to the parking lot, I fixed my things immediately. I was about to open the door when he called my name.

“You know what you will do, right?” he asked. I rolled my eyes as I nodded.

“Pretend to be your girlfriend in front of everyone,” I uttered lazily.

He smiled, “I’ll open your door.”

I smirked as he got off, he run to go to my door and opened it. As I get off the car, I can feel everyone’s gaze on me. I looked at him when he pulled me closer to him and held my waist.

Is it true that they are in a relationship?

Yeah, Paul announced it on their concert.

What is her department?

Do you know her course?

Even though we can here them talking about us, we just ignored them. I should be used to this one because I know it’ll take time to pretend in front of everyone.

When we arrived to my room, everyone stay quiet and looking at us.

“I’ll fetch you later,” he said.

“Nah, it’s okay. We’ll just meet later in cafeteria,” I answered as I gave him a smile.

He nodded, “Text me if Tacia bothers you.” I nodded.

As I entered my room, I still ignored their eyes on me, I sat beside Shia who’s already here.

I looked at my classmates when they started to go to my direction.

Bavina, is true that you’re in a relationship with Paul?

Whe did you say yes to him?

They are talking to me with mixed comments and questions. I looked at Tacia who’s glaring at me but I just smirked on her. I’m just thankful that prof went inside already that made everyone go back to their seats.

“Tacia, I thought your boyfriend is Paul? Why did they told you to leave the stage instead of Bavina?” one of our classmates asked. We’re currently here in our room since we’re only waiting for the lunch break. We don’t have a class for our secind subject today.

“I also don’t know, before their concert he broke up with me,” I heard Tacia answered.

“You mean Bavina took Paul away from you?” Even though they are whispering from each other, I can still hear them since our seats our just near with them.

I simply and secretly looked at their direction.

“I don’t know if they have a relationship while we were in a relationship but yeah, we broke up recently.”

I secretly shooked my head as I put my things back to my bag. Now I proved that world is really full of lies and envious. She’s freaking crazy, she even don’t deserve it!

Girls shouldn’t be men’s dog, but she’s like an obedient dog that has a plan to eat its boss.

I looked up when I realized that someone is standing in front of me.

“Let’s go,” Paul seriously said as he started to help me fix my things.

“Just wait for me outside, it’s embarrassing,” I whispered when I realized that everyone is looking at us once again.

“I’m going to the cafeteria now, Josh is there already,” Shia said that made me nod.

I looked at Paul when he held my hand and grabbed my bag. I didn’t say anything and I’m just looking at him directly. We concurrently went out of the room without looking at my classmates.

“How’s studies?” he asked while we’re walking.

“Could you please shut up? Everyone’s looking at us,” I whispered.

He held my hand more tight, “Your boyfriend is Paul Hemingway and you’re ashamed of it?” Paul asked while laughing but I ignored him.

“Did Tacia bother you?” he changed the topic, I shooked my head.

“I won’t mind if she’ll bother me or not, she can’t do anything since you’re my boyfriend,” I answered.

“Are you proud?” he asked while looking at me.. He’s smiling like crazy right now.

“No, why would I? We’re just pretending.”

As we arrived on our table, they ordered already. Josh and Shia is on our table while Aeron is sitting on the other table with the other girls.

“Get used to Aeron, he’s a womanizer,” Josh whispered that made me laugh.

The others are also looking at us but I just ignored them. In order not to get caught, I should act normal like what other couples do.

I looked at the other table, mine and Tacia’s eyes met. I secretly turned my eyes on Paul but he’s busy eating his lunch.

“Aren’t you going to eat?” he asked while looking at me, I looked away and get the fork and spoon.

Tacia passed beside me but I stayed my eyes on my foods. I looked at Shia who’s also looking at me but she shooked her head, looks like she knew what’s going on in my mind.

I was about to grab my drink when someone bumped my arm that made my glass fall.

I got everyone’s attention once again, I looked up and saw Tacia holding a tray.

“O-oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you. Are you okay?” She’s acting like she truly cares. She put her tray on the table to get the glass on floor.

“N-No, Tacia, you will ge---”

“Ouch!” I stayed away on her when her finger started to bleed.

“I know that you’re mad at me because I bumped you but it doesn’t mean you will hurt me!” she shouted that made my eyes widen.

“Tacia…”

“I already said sorry to you!” She started crying in front of us.

“S-sorry, I didn’t mean it…” I apologized with my low voice.

“That’s her attitude?”

“I think Paul loved the wrong person.”

I looked at the two girls who’s whispering to each other when I heard what they said, they both became quiet when I looked at them.

“Let’s go,” Shia said as she pulled me to get out of the cafeteria.

A tears started to fall from my eyes when we stopped on the garden.

“You didn’t do that, I saw everything,” she comforted me.

“But everyone thought I hurt her.”

“Tacia is the worst, I wanna pull her hair earlier. She was overreacting. It was just a small cut for pete’s sake!” she complained.

I’m just quiet while sitting next to Shia who’s complaning to me and expressing her anger towards Tacia.

“To tell you the truth, when I knew that you two are pretending, I know that there’s a possibility that something like this would happen. I mean you know, Paul’s name is big. Why does Paul have that Tacia went gone crazy to him?” she asked.

“They were lovers back then,” I answered her without looking at her.

“What? Really? How?” she asked.

“Paul’s Father and Tacia’s family wanted them to get married but Paul is against to it because he doesn’t want to get married.”

“How did they broke up?” she asked again while her eyes are focused on me.

“Tacia cheated.”

“Oh really? Look how thick her face is. She was the one who cheated, and now she’s acting like she has a rights and she’s even ruining Paul’s life!”

Paul’s POV

“Aren’t you really going to stop?!” She contorted when I gripped her wrist while I’m glaring at her.

She tried to pull her hand away from my hand.

“You know me, Paul. I won’t give up on you,” she said seriously.

“You’re f*cking crazy, Tacia!”

She didn’t answer and her eyes are just focusing on me.

“Why can’t you love me? I regretted everything, Paul…” Her tears fell from her eyes in front of me.

“But it doesn’t mean we can go back to each other’s lives. You f*cking ruined my life, and now you’re trying to ruin my relationship with Bavina!” I shouted. I really don’t pity her because she’s like a demon pretending to be an angel in front of everyone and that’s what I loathe!

“Because I can’t accept that you’re happy with someone!” she shouted back. She looked at the floor and covered her face.

“If you love me, let me be happy,” I said seriously while I’m trying to calm myself.

“I want you to be happy… but I can’t accept that you’re happy without me,” she said with a low voice.

“It’s not my fault anymore, Tacia. I’m asking you to stop bugging around us, and stop talking to Dad,” I responsed, “I love Bavina, I’m more happy with her, if you really want me to be happy, stop bothering us and live your life alone. You ruined us before, so you should face the consequence.”
