“Remember, he’s still half human and he had some unresolved fears and childhood traumas that he was only forced to work through when he met you.  Do you know that his father killed their mother in front of them when they were pups?  He feared that that monster was inside of him and he feared so many other things with that.  Mostly, he feared for your safety.”

“Well, it’s clear to anyone who cares to look that he’s nothing like his father and brother.”  She retorted indignantly, taking offence that he would think himself to be anything like them. 

Well, aside from when he shot her with the tranquilizer dart, back then she might have agreed, but it turns out he’s just completely clueless and was now literally researching how to treat her on the internet.  She’d caught him at it a couple of times already, but hadn’t wanted to draw attention to it.  He was adorably c
