Chapter 35 ~ Opportunity

Kiana’s eyes fluttered open but the light was too bright so she shut them closed while groaning in discomfort. “I’m never drinking again.” She mumbled as she tried to sit up but couldn’t because of how sore her body felt.

She paused when she heard a deep voice speaking but it sounded far away so she thought she was dreaming, “Okay thanks, I’ll take it from here.” The deep voice responded to something that had been said to him.

‘That voice.’ Kiana felt a shiver run down her spine but felt like slapping herself because she thought she was imagining things, ‘Come on Kia! Thinking of Arthur so early?’

But her thoughts jumped out the window when the door opened and the atmosphere changed. Kiana’s eyes had adjusted to the light and she could now see without any problems.

'The fuck?'

“How are you feeling?” Arthur’s deep voice vibrated in the room as he brushed his fingers lightly on her face.

Kiana’s brain took a minute longer than normal to process what she was seeing. The room felt
